As you can see, Ambipom has a wide movepool and an actually useful ability (see: Technician). With this, it can actually be usable since it has some attack power and fairly good speed.

Movesets:

Ambipom @ Leftovers
-Substitute
-Baton Pass
-Thunder Wave/Agility
-Return

The idea is simply to pass substitutes, something that is always useful. It can also pass some Agilities, which is good too.

Ambipom @ Leftovers
-Substitute
-Screech
-Shadow Claw
-Return/Focus Punch/Brick Break

This is similar to the ADV Screechgon. Screech to lower defenses and hit with Shadow Claw (to beat Ghosts). Return is for STAB, but Focus Punch will land a powerful hit. Brick Break is actually a very good choice, because of Screech, which means that it will hit harder than usual.

It should be noted that Double Attack on Ambipom is 105 BP with Technician. This messes up every likely Subpuncher not named Tyranitar, Gengar, or Aggron.

i think this guy would be pretty good on a BP team of some kind since it can pass subs and useful stat boosts and possibly attack fairly well.

Pass Schemes to Special Salamence, Agumon, Goku or whoever you see fit and enjoy in my opinion. Agility to Rampardos or Rhysuperiortomypreevo is cool as well.

115 speed, 100 attack, Normal STAB... y halo thar Choice Bander!

Ambipom@Choice Band
Return
Thunder
Focus Punch
Shadow Claw

Yep. :O

Schemepassing is cool too.

no wonder I´m currently breeding aipom...

scheme passing is sexy with that speed, the problem is what 2 other moves to give ambipom...judgement you forgot swift as a special move, technician makes it 90 base, it gets STAB on it aswell...swift+shadowball, bolt+grass rope/water pulse, sub+1move...I wonder what people will switch into ambipom

schemed bolt 1hkos skarm...lol timid technician aerial ace 1hkos hera

I was watching a PBR video one time and this one user had this rather interesting set. I thought it was quite smart if you asked me.

Ambipom
Trait: Technician
-Fake Out
-Treasure

Fake Out's move power is multipied by 1.5 with its trait, so if you need to kill something on low health when sent in you have a pretty good chance to do so.

Treasure is a move where you need to use all of your other moves to get the full benefit, as we konw, get walled by Ghosts, Steels, and Rocks, per usual. At least it is worth a mention especially, since that'll be a BP 195 with STAB move.

That set needs Life Orb for maximum effectiveness... and honestly, the power boost over Return isn't really enough to warrant messing up your diversity so badly.

If I was to begin breeding Aipoms, would I look for ones with Run Away as their trait? Since Ambipom has both Pickup and Technician does this mean that the slot for Run Away becomes the slot for Technician when it evolves?

Also, isn't Return's max power around 102? Why would you use that over Double Attack which has a power of 105 after Technician. Is it because Return is more accurate? Double Attack breaks subs though.

yeah run away should turn into technician...but pick up is still usable if you don´t want to use water pulse/shock wave/swift, double attack/aerial ace, for example on the misty set

Im going to make a special based Ambipom [ingame], sorta similar like sweeper ninjask, expected to BP, but ends up dealing some nice damage.

They look like the hands the people in my high school math book had.

Pry0: Would you happen to have a moveset in mind for that?

Draw a face on his "udders" and they look like mutated Plusle.

How about Fake Out/Return/Shadow Claw/Somersault @ something, not Choice Band. Maybe Life Orb or the safe option of Leftovers.

Fake Out for a free hit (if it's not a Ghost), then Somersault out probably for another free hit given Ambipom's high speed. Not going to be doing massive damage, but you can wear stuff down while avoiding any damage.

Life Orb, Maybe Expert Belt
Timid Nature
Ev's TBD
Scheme
Grass Rope
HP [Ice]
Beat Up / Batton Pass / Aerial ace

Something along those lines. Beat Up is a nasty 2HKO on Blissey if your team is healthy.

Beat Up is an absolute waste. You're losing one (very valuable) move slot almost SPECIFICALLY for Blissey that will not help against anyone else (well, maybe Zam). It's too centralized and given that Ambipom has a ton of options, you don't need to limit him.

As a side note, Blissey dies to repeated Returns anyway (or forces her to Egg-stall or switch) if they're 153BP and coming off of base 100 attack.

FTI, Return's power is supposed to be maxed at 100 now, not 102. Same for Frustration, obviously.

Really? I remember reading somewhere that a guy tested Return, and came to the conclusion that it was impossible for it to be 100 BP in that situation.

Anyway, I really think Double Attack should be used on Ambipom over Return. Double Attack after STAB + Technician has a BP of 157.5 (I think), which is more than Returns BP of 153. It may be only 4.5 BP stronger, but the ability to break subs this gen is highly important.

why on earth can't this thing learn encore? just looka at the size of those hands.... if it can't clap, noone can
