Well this was a long time coming. I've been playing Pokemon since it first came out but only recently did I really get into competitive battling. This will be my first RMT so here it goes.
So I was looking through the Strategy Dex and I came across Aggron's page. I have always liked Aggron and I also love the move Head Smash. I hadn't realized that Aggron had received it plus Rock Head so I was instantly hooked. Thus we have Aggron.
Now I realized that Aggron wasn't going to have enough power to outright KO many of the pokemon that he needed to without residual damage however I didn't feel I really needed SR support with Head Smash. I happened upon another one of my favorite pokemon Cacturne. This guy has caused some people headaches in the lead spot with his ability to play mindgames with foe and even revenge kill weakened foes later in the game with STAB Sucker Punch.
I don't know if y'all know this but Aggron and Cacturne are SLOW...I mean really SLOW. I realized I needed some speed and also a wallbreaker of sorts. Thats when I thought about Scarf Blaziken. Scarfiken gives me a much needed non-Sucker Punch revenge killer as well as kill the Grass Types that are a thorn in my side.
With all of these frail or in Aggron's case unfortunately typed pokemon i felt i needed some bulk. For whatever reason I have always loved Clefable and her versatility but since i need bulk I used the basic Specially Defensive set. This set really helps my sweepers set up.
Looking at my team you will notice that I have quite the fighting weakness but I knew exactly what to do: Slowbro. Slowbro used to be THE UU Bulky Water before Milotic dethroned him but he still has quite the utility. He gives me a switch in to most fighting types as well as a way to threaten them.
To benefit from all of the physical attackers I knew i needed a Special Sweeper and i needed another switch-in to fighting types. I looked around and saw Mismagius. She fills quite a few roles on the team...mainly she is my Special Sweeper but she is also my spinblocker as well as my secondary switch-in to fighting types.
Further Analysis
The Lead
Cacturne@Focus Sash
Adamant 252 ATK/252 SPE/4 SPD
Spikes
Encore
Sucker Punch
Seed Bomb/Protect
Cacturne starts off the match quite well actually. His mixture of Spikes Encore and Sucker Punch allow him to play some pretty nice mindgames and even apply pressure from the very beginning of the match. I tend to try and keep Cacturne alive for later in the match to do some revenge killing. I could change him but I would rather not.
Bulky Physical Wall
Slowbro@Leftovers
Bold 252HP/252 DEF/4 SPD
Surf
Psychic
Thunder Wave
Slack Off
Slowbro is integral to my team as he gives me a great switch-in to most physical attackers. He also helps some of my slower pokemon out with paralysis support however I'm thinking of using Toxic to help further weaken the opposing team for a sweep. Slowbro really takes physical hits like a champ able to take +2 Leaf Blade from Leafeon and cripple it with Thunder Wave or severely damage it with Psychic. Can change him but I have had great success with him.
The Special Wall
Clefable@Flame Orb
Calm 252 HP/152 DEF/100 SPD/4 SPE
Encore
Thunder Wave
Seismic Toss
Softboiled
This thing has caused people some headaches. The biggest draw of this particular set was Encore. Encore allows me to punish opponents for using Clefable as setup fodder and usually gives Mismagius or Blaziken a free switch-in. She continues my theme of paralysis support for my sweepers. Her greatest nemesis is by far Rotom. Rotom can switch in on any move and force me out. Thankfully Rotom does not poses a huge threat to my team. This is one those Pokemon I could part with as she might not completely fit this team.
The Revenger
Blaziken@Choice Scarf
Rash 84 ATK/184 SPA/ 240 SPE
Fire Blast
Thunder Punch
Superpower
HP Ice
Blaziken is a great wallbreaker with mediocre speed so I decided to slap a Choice Scarf on him. With a little prediction I am usually able to smack a switch-in and if I chose right smack them again before they can attack. He also doubles as a decent late game sweeper once the fire resisters are gone. This Blaziken outspeeds all Max speed Base 125's and below. I'm willing to change Blaziken but only for another fire type.
The Special Sweeper
Mismagius@Leftovers
Timid 4 HP/252 SPA/252 SPE
Nasty Plot
Substitute
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Mismagius actually fits quite onto this team. She get plenty of opportunities to switch in on Choice locked or Encored fighting normal and ground types moves and Sub up on the switch. She also benefits from the physical attackers on the team weakening potential counters. This thing has saved my ass quite a few times. I am will to change it but would rather not.
The Cleaner
Aggron@Life Orb
Adamant 4 DEF/252 ATK/252 SPE
Rock Polish
Head Smash
Aqua Tail
Low Kick
Aggron is an absolute monster late-game with a Rock Polish under its belt. Head Smash does ludicrous amounts of damage even to pokemon who resist it. Aggron can also come out in the mid-game and punch massive holes in the opponents team. There really isn't too much else to say about him just that I will not change out Aggron but I will take suggestions for different sets.
Well there you have it my UU team. Please comment rate or whatever. Any and all help is appreciated!
