Aggron..a sweeper..NEVER

Ok so I decided to drop Platinum until HGSS came out and well its here now. I figured I'd get back on Shoddy and get active on smogon because honestly who doesn't love pokemon? ANYWAYS back to the team. I saw that one of my favorite pokemon from RSE gotten a great move called Head Smash. I figured sure lets sweep with him and at first it seemed crazy and my friends told me it wouldn't work but once this thing gets out there and can get up a sub its go time! So without further ado let's bring out the line-up.

Tyrantiar-The Lead
Adamant
Leftovers
252hp/32 att/224 sp.d
Stone edge
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Payback

Tyrantitar was a necessity as a lead for this team. He comes in and brings along the sandstorm. This multiplies not only his but also Aggron's sp.d by 1.5x. This set almost always gets up s/r unless the leadape decides to go for the kill first or i get taunted then i just kill the aerodactyl or whatever else taunts me by prediction. Payback OHKO's azelf and pretty much all other things its super effective against. It also has come in handy on getting rid of those pesty roserade who think they stand a chance late games if my infernape isn't around anymore.

Aggron-the Star
Adamant
Rock Head
Leftovers
160hp/252att/96spe
Focus Punch
Earthquake
Head Smash
Substitute

Aggron is the main force behind this team. Once he is out there and has his sub up he is guranteed to take down atleast 1 of my opponents pokemon depending on if Head Smash misses or not. I usually switch in to an outraged dragonite or salamance but if they don't have one I switch into a nonsuper effective physical attack or a weakened attack set up the sub and go from there. Head Smash is the main move in this set as it can OHKO all flyings and fire. It also can OHKO almost anything thats not strong against it and that doenst have a large amount of their ev's put into HP/ defense. Focus punch is good for hitting steels and rocks as it is guranteed to hit with the sub up and earthquake is used for electrics and for if I run into pressure because I dont want to run out of PP.

Vapreon-The Staller
Bold
Leftovers
188hp/252def/68 spe
Toxic
Wish
Protect
Surf

This is your classic stall vapreon. I switch this in on those mean sweepers trying to destroy aggron. It absorbs water moves which normally destroy aggron and stalls the users out. I usualy use wish or toxic first depending on if they can harm me alot or not. If i use toxic I will then use wish and if i use wish i will use protect or toxic depending or not if they switched. Surf can be useful against lucario as I have faced many of those and they have all fallen. This thing refuses to go down fast and the leftovers prevents it from taking extra damange from the sandstorm.

Starmie-The spinner/destroyer
Timid
Natural Cure
Life orb
4hp/252 sp.a/252spe
Rapid Spin
Hyrdo Pump
T-bolt
Ice Beam

This thing removes the spikes and sr that hurt my team. It opens a path for salamance especially to come in and do its job. With its high speed it can outrun a majority of its counters and do some damage with its life orb. This thing doenst normally last long due to storm and life orb damage but it gets the job done. Hydro pump is used over surf as it gurantees a OHKO on more things and also does alot more damage to help take out tanks such as bronzong.

Infernape-The enflamed monkey
Naive
Life orb
64att/252sp.a/192spe
Grass knot
Close Combat
Flamethrower
Hp-Ice

Close combat makes blissey look like a crying baby. That is the main use of that because I have good coverage with the rest of these moves. Grass Knot can take out Swampert and heavier pokemon. Flamethrower is great for steels and grass as it provides stab and fire blast isnt used because it doenst cause a great difference in OHKOs. Hp-ice is unpredicted and has taken out many dragons because of it.

Salamance-The fire breathing dragon
Naive
Life Orb
16att/252spe/240spa
Draco Meteor
Dragon Claw
Flamethrower
Earthquake

This is your common new version of mixmence. Flamethrower gets ride of steels and grass that infernape cant remove. Draco meteor does a great deal of damage with its high base power + STAB. Earthquake is for those pesky tyrantitars and other annoying random rocks or fighting that come along. Dragon claw is my backup for when the opponent things im SOL after a draco meteor and bring in something that would survive the lowered draco meteor.

All opinons are welcome and I will test your changes just dont try to remove aggron for he is the main reason this team exists. Thank you for rating this team.

With only 1 pokemon being unaffected by sandstorm, 3 pokemon with Life Orb, and only 1 pokemon with leftovers, sandstorm is hurting your team more than helping.

2 are unaffected and you would think that would be a problem but my team has showed no weakness from it yet so I don't find it a problem

Im kinda worried about the lead, Metagross Leads can cut right through it, cause it can withstand one EQ before bullet punching you to death :P

Your team compliments each other's weakneses so its quite good, but not all them are very bulky so switching too much might hurt especially when your opponent has stealth rocks on you.

Sand Storm doesnt help honestly hahaha. Change the lead lol.

p.s. I LOVE MUDKIPS :D
my name is Kip anyway :)
hehee

Before I get to rating this team, is there any reason whatsoever why Rock Polish Aggron is being used over AgilityGross, who is superior in every single way?

what do u suggest then? stealth rocks isnt a big issue cuz starmie spins them away and it hasnt really hurt me either..the 50% bonus of sp.d helps sort of but i get what ur saying so any ideas in what to replace it with then? and dude i just figured out there was a WEBSITE for mudkips! haha

@lord liam
Im not using rock polish aggron but I do believe the agility metagross is better I dont know why people would chose aggron besides the fact that they like him better *shrugs*

Tyranitar and Aggron on the same team is never a good thing. They're typing to too similar, as Tyranitar is weak to water, ground and fighting, just as Aggron is. Rather, Hippowdon should be used as your lead.

I hope I helped!

I used hippowdon..didnt really do much for me. It got the sandstorm in BUT it didnt really do much for me besides that. As to the typing issue thats what vaporeon is used for. It can wall everything you just named very effectively besides lucario or other part steels and even then with a few surfs it can take them down.

Any type of suicune Hidden Power Electric rips through this team. I suggest you change the lead to an Azelf or Celebi. Celebi still provides good synergy with your team taking the grass and water moves aimed at your teamates. This set could really help your team.

Celebi- Modest- Occa Berry/Focus Sash
252 SpAttack, 252 Speed, 6 Hp
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Earth Power/Leaf Storm
-U-Turn

Anyway good luck with your team

hmm I will try this out thank you. Any other suggestions?
Other than that your team is solid. Every member has good synergy with eachother. Although if you want a sandstorm team you could replace Mence with a Scarfflygon. It can revenge kill almost everything and then can come back with U-Turn. Tyranitar and Flygon make a great team together and can both benefit from sandstorm.

You accidentally wrote Rock Smash instead of Head Smash in Aggron's description, as a rock smash will not take out any flying type besides Aerodactyl if you crit

Excuse me for the set error.

As a SubPuncher, there are about 100 pokemon who can do it better. If you are willing to swap out your lead Tyranitar can act 100% better with his Boah set, he recieves the same Sp.Der bonus but has better typing and the ability to break stall at the same time. In place of your lead you could try something like Swampert as he seems to fit the team quite well.

sure ttar lead gets sandstorm out early, but thats just about all it's good for... getting ss out early. swap in a good anti lead, so you can eliminate their setup opportunity. maybe make your infernape the lead with an anti lead set. make your ttar more defensively bulky so it can live throughout the match. like an earlier poster said, you only have 2 pokemon that benefit from ss, and several with life orb, so I recommend at least a third rock/ground/steel. Maybe replace your mence with a scizor. Also, aggron is a big no go. Metagross is better in every way.

hmm scarfgon..wasnt thinking about that I think I mite try him. I'll go back to T-tar to get the storm up that gives me 3 immune to the storm, 2 life orbs, and one that cancells it with leftovers
