Gen 3 ADV OU Mud Mood Mess - Bulky Rain Offensive

The team is centered around Rain Dance, with multiple setters (Ludicolo, Swampert, and Jirachi) and a main sweeper (Kingdra); Jirachi and Ludicolo provide defensive support and help keep the rain active; Swampert and Dugtrio act as wallbreakers, helping Kingdra clean up in the late game; Claydol provides support with Rapid Spin and Explosion; The team maintains resilience and game control until the right moment for Kingdra to sweep.

I don't think it's very good; I have a replay where I lost:

This is a version of my team that I used in Pokémon RS. I tried to improve it as much as I could based on what I know, but I've only been playing Pokémon Showdown for about a week, so I don't have much experience building competitive teams.

This team has a bunch of cool things happening, but there are still some crippling weaknesses.

Thunder CM rain dance Jirachi is dope and a really nice synergy but I would recommend ice beam over psychic and faster evs. Without a way to heal the bulk just isn’t that useful.

I also like the Claydol here, since with Dug + Jirachi + Rain it should be enough to handle most physical threats and spin is always nice to relive pressure. Would recommend a more aggressive ev spread tho, since this team is not built for long games.

HP electric doesn’t seem necessary on Kingdra and I like Hydro Pump for damage, but that’s more personal preference.

I think Dugtrio has to be bulky, with 140 evs in Sp.D and beat up to win the Blissey 1v1. This is a standard for special offense.

I would probably want to change the Swampert and Ludicolo, I just don’t see what they offer to the team and the concept of setting rain for a teammate doesn’t really work too well in adv with no damp rock.

I’d reccomend Celebi and Zapdos as the replacements with a CM Pass and Offensive set (eg Thunderbolt, Baton Pass, Roar, Subsitute). These would help lure in Blissey to make dugtrio traps easier whilst passing CMs and Subs to Kingdra. This version of the team has no Physical Attackers to force out special walls, so you could try Choice Band Claydol but that’s a very band-aid (and probably not good) solution. The other option would be to get fancy with non-standards. You could run a physical attacking Tyranitar with rain dance over focus punch (paired with Jolteon probably) or Mixed Zapdos with Baton Pass. Leech seed Celebi could also help. These solutions aren’t perfect, but I don’t want to just tell you to make a team I’ve already seen/made before.

There are also team building guides for Rain and Special Offense on the ADV forums. Darth Tyros and BKC also have videos on special Offense.
