Larvesta @ Eviolite
Ability: Flame Body
Level: 5
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 76 HP / 236 Def / 156 SpD / 36 Spe
Impish Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Will-O-Wisp
- U-turn
- Morning Sun
Larvesta burns through the competition! With its typing, excellent defensive ability, access to Will-O-Wisp, and reliable recovery in Morning Sun, Larvesta is one of the sturdiest checks to physical attackers like Mienfoo, Alolan Sandshrew, and Grookey. Flare Blitz is very powerful, OHKOing or 2HKOing most of the metagame. Will-O-Wisp allows Larvesta to cripple physical attackers and its slow U-turn capitalizes on forced switches, regaining momentum to safely bring in its teammates. Morning Sun keeps Larvesta healthy to consistently switch-in against Mienfoo. Tera Fairy is used to remove its Rock and Flying weaknesses, and resist Dark moves such as Knock Off. Due to its 4x Stealth Rock weakness, Larvesta needs removal options such as Rapid Spin Toedscool and Defog Vullaby. In return, it can check Alolan Sandshrew for them, whose Triple Axel threatens OHKOs. Gothita is another great partner, as Larvesta can U-turn on resists like Mareanie and Glimmet to safely switch in Gothita and trap them. Setup sweepers such as Shellder and Nasty Plot Vullaby appreciate Larvesta's burn support.
