Trick Room Attacker (Diancie) @ Hard Stone / Covert Cloak / Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Dragon / Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Diamond Storm
- Protect
- Body Press
- Trick Room

[SET COMMENTS]
- Diancie is a premier Trick Room attacker due to its fantastic bulk which allows it to set Trick Room for itself frequently, as well as a snowball effect while stacking Defense boosts from Diamond Storm, which hits a majority of the metagame for at least neutral damage and makes it extremely difficult to remove with physical attacks.
- Diancie's ability, Clear Body, provides crucial immunity to Intimidate that would otherwise be a nuisance to Diancie's damage output throughout the game.
- Boosts from aforementioned Diamond Storm create a threatening combination with Body Press, allowing Diancie to deal strong single target damage neutrally to a majority of the metagame and trade damage with opposing Trick Room attackers like Iron Hands.
- Diancie runs Hard Stone to further boost its signature move, Diamond Storm, dealing STAB spread damage. Hard Stone also allows Diancie to make consistent progress into one of its biggest checks, Landorus.
- Hard Stone can often be replaced with Covert Cloak to assist with its capability to set and make the most of its Trick Room turns. It is used to block Fake Out, which is normally threatening to Diancie's ability to position itself to fire off attacks or reset Trick Room. Conversely, Leftovers are used to increase Diancie's longevity and make use of its immense natural bulk.
- Diancie has two premier tera typings. Dragon tera is the most common and used to add Water and Grass type resistance, but also has an advantage in the current metagame due to lack of threatening Fairy type attacks and being better into Landorus Sludge Bomb. Grass is used to add resistance to Diancie's to Ground, Grass, and Water type attacks, as well as improve its matchup into Amoonguss, which underspeeds Diancie in Trick Room.
- Minimum speed investment with 0 IVs is optimal on most Diancie sets due to its threatening presence in Trick Room, as well as underspeeding threats like Ursaluna-Bloodmoon in Trick Room.
- Common Checks to Diancie include Gholdengo and Landorus because of their consistent ability to OHKO Diancie.Gholdengo is especially threatening to Diancie because it is immune to Diancie's Body Press, and resists Diamond Storm while threatening a OHKO back. Ogerpon formes that deal threatening Grass type super effective damage, as well as Ogerpon-W's Ivy Cudgel. Ursaluna formes are also threatening for Diancie, threatening OHKOes before Diancie terastallizes and speed tying minimum speed Diancie in Trick Room, which can be troublesome for it to defeat. Okidogi can also prove difficult for Diancie, as it resists both its attacking moves, and threatens large damage in return.
- Good teammates for Diancie include Pokemon that can threaten its checks, like Gholdengo and Iron Hands. Ogerpon-H and Ogerpon-W are often paired with Diancie due to Follow Me redirection, and strong STAB combinations to complement Diancie. Ogerpon-H is often paired with Diancie to threaten Gholdengo, and Ogepon-W for Landorus.
- Roaring Moon and Landorus are strong additions to Diancie cores to provide a faster mode, as well as threaten aforementioned threats to Diancie like Okidogi and Gholdengo. Trick Room attackers like Ursaluna and Torkoal that take advantage of Diancie's Trick Room setting and healing partners like Sinistcha and Amoonguss that increase Diancie's longevity are also greatly appreciated.
- Fake Out support from Pokemon like Rillaboom and Incineroar is appreciated by Diancie, allowing it to use Trick Room more easily. With the latter being able to assist with increasing Diancie's natural bulk due to its Intimidate.

- Diancie is a premier Trick Room attacker due to its fantastic bulk and snowball effect while stacking boosts from Diamond Storm, which hits a majority of the metagame for at least neutral damage.
- Boosts from aforementioned Diamond Storm create a threatening combination with Body Press, allowing Diancie to deal super effective damage to Steel Types that would normally wall it, such as Kingambit and Iron Crown it doesn't deal SE to iron crown, and crown isn't an ideal example given the really bad matchup. it might be good to refocus this just as a strong single target move which is neutral into much of the metagame- the only other DOU steel type is ghold, and it can't touch it as we know. , and trade damage with opposing Trick Room attackers like Iron Hands.
- Diancie benefits from setting Trick Room for itself, and has enough natural bulk to do so frequently throughout the game. consider combining this line with the first bullet point, they work together i think.
- Diancie runs Hard Stone to further boost its signature move, Diamond Storm, dealing STAB spread damage.
- Hard Stone can often be replaced with Covert Cloak or Safety Goggles to assist with its capability to set and make the most of its Trick Room turns. Covert Cloak is used to block Fake Out, which is normally threatening to Diancie's ability to position itself to fire off attacks. or more importantly set trick room since fake out cycling is the main reason imo Conversely, Safety Goggles are used to improve a team's matchup into Amoonguss' Spore, as well as ignore redirection from Rage Powder. potentially can combine this with the line above it as well, since it's all about items
- Diancie has two premier tera typings. Grass is used to add resistance to Diancie's to Ground, Grass, and Water type attacks, as well as improve its matchup into Amoonguss, which underspeeds Diancie in Trick Room. Dragon tera is used similarly to Grass tera in to add Water and Grass type resistance, but also has an advantage in the current metagame due to lack of threatening Fairy type attacks and being better into Landorus Sludge Bomb. list dragon before grass, it's more common afaik & stronger as you say. could even cut grass, or just mention the overlap with goggles if used.
- Minimum speed investment with 0 IVs is optimal on most Diancie sets due to its threatening presence in Trick Room, as well as underspeeding threats like Ursaluna-Bloodmoon in Trick Room.
- Common Checks to Diancie include Ogerpon formes that deal threatening Grass type super effective damage, as well as Ogerpon-W's Ivy Cudgel. Steel and Ground types like Gholdengo, Kingambit, Landorus, and Ursaluna formes are also threatening for Diancie, threatening OHKOes before Diancie terastallizes. Ursaluna speed ties minimum speed Diancie in Trick Room, which can be troublesome for it to defeat.
- Good teammates for Diancie include Pokemon that can threaten threats like Gholdengo and Iron Hands. Ogerpon-H and Ogerpon-W are often paired with Diancie due to Follow Me redirection, and strong STAB combinations to complement Diancie. Landorus and Roaring Moon are strong additions to Diancie cores to provide a faster mode, as well as threaten aforementioned threats to Diancie. could reword last bit to be "threaten its checks" or something similar, "threaten threats" sounds a bit awkward.
- Fake Out support from Pokemon like Rillaboom and Incineroar is appreciated by Diancie, allowing it to use Trick Room more easily. With the latter being able to assist with increasing Diancie's natural bulk due to its Intimidate.

additionally, i'd like to see a mention of okidogi being difficult for it. it can go in the lando part of the teammates section, since lando hits it most of the time, or you can add some other example of your choosing.

1/2 good stuff

-I think you should more explicitly mention how Diamond Storm helps Diancie against basically any of its physical checks, making it pretty difficult to remove via physical damage if it gets a boost
-Should probably emphasize a bit more how much a deterrent Gholdengo is for Diancie, being immune to Body Press and taking negligible damage from Diamond Storm
-Similarly I think Landorus should also be emphasized (like I'd mention Gholdengo and Landorus first before the Ogerpons since they are more consistent checks, as they don't care about Diamond Storm boosts). This is partially due to its offensive breaking power into Diancie but also as a Pokemon Diancie can struggle to make progress into, since it resists Body Press and Diamond Storm doesn't 2hko (this is a also a point in favor of Hard Stone, as non Hard Stone sets struggle with Landorus even moreso).
-Partners like Amoonguss (Spore pressure/healing) or Sinistcha (help setting TR/healing) should probably also be mentioned. Other TR breakers like Ursa or Torkoal could be worth a mention as well
-You already mention Ogerpon forms' offensive pressure as a partner, but I think you should specifically mention how Hearthflame helps with Ghold and Wellspring helps with Lando
-I think it's worth mentioning Diancie's immunity to Intimidate at the start since that's also pretty relevant

Not really an issue with the writing itself but I'm not a huge fan of the item choice on this set. Goggles hasn't really seen play on Diancie and Cloak is also a very rare option. I'll bring this up on discord as well probably but I think Weakness Policy, Leftovers, and Shuca Berry are all more common and stronger secondary choices on Diancie compared to Cloak and Goggles. It's fine as is but I think this should be a bit more reflective of the items that are currently most used on Diancie.
