Magic Guard Eternatus is a dangerous setup attacker with high damage output. Magic Guard helps offset Dragon Energy's high HP requirement, allowing Eternatus to use its bulk and maintain good damage output, and it also allows for a drawback-free Life Orb. While Malignant Chain is usually more consistent, Shell Side Arm can be used with maximum Attack EVs and IVs in order to more reliably dent Blissey. Nasty Plot allows for staggering damage, letting full-powered Dragon Energy 2HKO Ice Scales Arceus even if it uses Take Heart after the first hit, while Torch Song 2HKOes non-Assault Vest Celesteela, is generally easier to Imposter-proof, and doesn't leave Eternatus completely shut off by Magearna and Zacian-C. Strength Sap's high instant healing, easy Imposter-proofing, and ability to ward off slower physical attackers like Mega Lucario make it a solid choice; alternatively, Recover doesn't get shut off by Blissey and Magic Bounce users, making it much more reliable. Magic Guard Eternatus's best fit is on offense teams that want high instant damage that throttles annoying Fairy-types like Mega Audino without a Choice lock. Eternatus's biggest enemy is Blissey, as it stuffs Strength Sap, stalls Dragon Energy with Topsy-Turvy and its immense bulk, and isn't 2HKOed by Shell Side Arm; as a result, a teammate like Secret Sword Arceus-Ghost is near mandatory to get past it in a reasonable amount of time. Eternatus's Speed tier also leaves it outsped by other offensive foes like Mega Alakazam and Flutter Mane, so RegenVest users like Dialga-O help by preventing it from folding to these. Imposter-proof Torch Song Eternatus with Ice Scales users, Magic Guard Blissey, or Imposter Chansey; Nasty Plot is harder to Imposter-proof, so Magearna and specially defensive Steel-types are recommended. Paralysis support is also highly recommended on Recover sets, as a paralyzed Imposter user negates one of Recover's big drawbacks in Imposter users exploiting it for healing.

Magic Guard Eternatus is a dangerous setup attacker with high damage output. Magic Guard fixes Dragon Energy's HP requirement not very clear how this works because it doesn't magically make etern stay at full health permanently, allowing it to use its bulk and maintain good damage output, and it also allows for a drawback-free Life Orb. Nasty Plot allows for staggering damage, allowing full-HP Dragon Energy to 2HKO Ice Scales Arceus even if it uses Take Heart after the first hit, while Torch Song 2HKOes non-Assault Vest Celesteela, is generally easier to Imposter-proof, and doesn't leave Eternatus completely shut off by Magearna + Zac-c, similar viability. Strength Sap's high instant healing, easy Imposter-proofing, and flexibility with annoying physical attackers like Mega Lucario make it a good choice kind of confusing sentence, unclear what the idea here is esp whether the annoying atks are opposing or not; alternatively, Recover doesn't get shut off by Blissey and Magic Bounce users, making it much more reliable. Magic Guard Eternatus's best fit is on offense teams that want high instant damage without a choice lock that throttles annoying Fairy-types like Mega Audino.
