[SET COMMENTS]
Tentacruel is one of Water's best forms of role compression, removing entry hazards thanks to its access to Rapid Spin, absorbing Toxic Spikes placed by Toxapex and indirectly by Glimmora with its Poison typing, and slow pivoting with Flip Turn. Aside from this, its great ability in Liquid Ooze allows it to punish the Ogerpon formes and Sinistcha, which target it with Horn Leech and Matcha Gotcha. Furthermore, its part-Poison typing gives Water teams an option against Grass- and Fairy-types such as Breloom and Azumarill. Toxic Spikes aids its more offensive-based teammates by afflicting status on incoming foes, and due to Tentacruel's great defensive typing, it finds many opportunities to set one layer of Toxic Spikes. Flip Turn allows it to serve as a great pivot, as with its rather low Speed, it is able to almost always get a teammate in safely. A Calm nature along with 240 Special Defense EVs allows it to survive 2 Earth Powers from Choice Scarf Enamorus and 2 Fickle Beams from Nasty Plot-boosted Hydrapple. Alternatively, a Bold nature along with 240 Defense EVs allows it to survive a Swords Dance-boosted Horn Leech from the Ogerpon formes and KO back, as well as 2 Flower Tricks from Meowscarada. 16 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Adamant Breloom, effectively checking it.

Hisuian Samurott forms an entry hazard-stacking core with Tentacruel, placing Spikes with Ceaseless Edge while bypassing Taunt and threatening Dark- and Psychic-types that threaten Tentacruel such as Kingambit and Latios. In return, Tentacruel handles Fairy-types for Hisuian Samurott. Poison-types such as Sneasler, Pecharunt, and Toxapex can come in to absorb Tentacruel's Toxic Spikes. Hence, Greninja makes for a great teammate, checking those Poison-types while also threatening bulky Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Clodsire. When Tentacruel is running a physically defensive EV spread, it forms a great defensive pairing with specially bulky Pokemon such as Swampert and Primarina. Swampert provides an Electric immunity, Stealth Rock support, and pivoting via Flip Turn, while Primarina takes on Dragon-types such as Latios, Latias, and Roaring Moon. Alomomola forms a defensive core with Tentacruel, as well as providing Tentacruel recovery via Wish. Tentacruel's ability to spread status and slow pivot is appreciated by late-game sweepers such as Ogerpon-W, Keldeo, and Urshifu-R. Ogerpon-W takes on Landorus, while Keldeo and Urshifu-R break through Steel-types like Kingambit, Hisuian Goodra, and Empoleon. Rotom-W can switch in against Ground-types thanks to Levitate, and it also threatens common hazard removers like Corviknight and Great Tusk with its STAB moves.

Knock Off synergizes well with Tentacruel's entry hazard-stacking, as it removes Heavy-Duty Boots from users such as Dragapult and Brambleghast. However, some of Tentacruel's teammates like Hisuian Samurott commonly run Knock Off as well. Protect allows Tentacruel to scout moves from Choice-locked Pokemon like Greninja, Meowscarada, and Gholdengo, but this comes at the cost of sacrificing some of Tentacruel's valuable role compression. Haze allows Tentacruel to better deal with Primarina and Sinistcha, but the limited amount of specific foes Haze targets is small enough that it isn't worth running over its main moves.

Tentacruel is one of Water's best forms (not really, its just there, existing for role compression) of hazard removal thanks to its access to Rapid Spin and its part Poison-typing absorbing Toxic Spikes placed by Toxapex and indirectly by Glimmora. Aside from this, great ability in Liquid Ooze allows it to punish the Ogerpon formes that target it with Horn Leech. Furthermore, its part Poison-typing gives Water teams an option against Fairy-types such as Clefable and Azumarill (maybe include Grass types like Breloom instead + Azu?). Rapid Spin is one of Tentacruel's main selling points, as with its great bulk, it is able to find opportunities to remove hazards (its bulk isnt really appealing, you could even probably remove this sentence/merge Rapid spin elsewhere). Toxic Spikes aids its more offensive-based teammates by afflicting status on incoming foes; and due to Tentacruel's great defensive typing, it finds many opportunities to lay down one layer of Toxic Spikes. Flip Turn allows it to serve as a great pivot, as with its rather low Speed, it is able to almost always get a teammate in safely. A Calm nature along with 240 Special Defense EVs allows it to live 2 Earth Powers from Choice Scarf Enamorus and 2 two Fickle Beams from Nasty Plot-boosted Hydrapple. Alternatively, a Bold nature along with 240 Defense EVs allows it to survive a (survives Ogerpon's Horn Leech at +2 and kills it for real, Ftrick becomes a 3HKO from scarf meow) Leaf Blade from unboosted Hisuian Lilligant.
(16 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant Breloom, effectively checking it. This somehow feels a bit important distinction between it and Toxapex, so feel free to use it at the start if you want)

Hisuian Samurott forms a hazard stacking core with Tentacruel, placing Spikes with Ceaseless Edge while bypassing Taunt and threatening Psychic-types that threaten it such as Iron Crown (maybe aside from Iron Crown, pick a dark type like Kingambit?) and Latios. In return, Tentacruel handles Fairy-types for Hisuian Samurott. Poison-types such as Amoonguss and Toxapex (pick a different mon, like Sneasler or Pecha over Amoonguss, since both are losing mus for Water already) can come in to absorb Tentacruel's Toxic Spikes. Hence, Greninja makes for a great teammate, checking those Poison-types while also threatening bulky Ground-types such as Great Tusk and (Clodsire?) Hippowdon. Rotom-W can switch in against Ground-types thanks to Levitate, and it also threatens common hazard removers like Corviknight and Great Tusk with its STAB. (move this to last) When Tentacruel is running a physically defensive EV spread, it forms a great defensive pairing with Pokemon bulky on the special side such as Swampert and Primarina. Swampert provides an Electric immunity, Stealth Rock support, and pivoting via Flip Turn, while Primarina takes on Dragon-types such as Latios, Latias, and Roaring Moon. Tentacruel's ability to spread status and slow pivoting is appreciated by lategame sweepers such as Ogerpon-W, Keldeo, and Urshifu-R. Ogerpon-W takes on Landorus, while Keldeo and Urshifu-R break through Steel-types like Kingambit, Hisuian Goodra, and Empoleon.
(Alomola is a unique mention for Tenta, serving as the other wall and provides wish to compensate for Tenta's inability to recover)

Add other options
Knock Off - Synergizes with the hazard stack
Protect - More Leftos recovery
Haze - the bottom of the barrel, but it lets you deal with Primarinya better

Same with Pao I know ppl not really running psy fangs that much but it still a good coverage options on the set and that just threatens us out as well.
