[SET COMMENTS]
  • Giratina-O's typing alongside high bulk, a wide utility movepool, offense boosted by Griseous Core, and Levitate, renders it into a mixed wall that can take on foes such as Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, and Arceus.
  • Giratina-O threatens out common entry hazard setters such as Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM, allowing it to safely Defog consistently. Rest is also an option to raise Giratina-O's longevity if it's not required as a Defogger, becoming a more consistent check to foes such as Zygarde, and Primal Groudon in the long run, but is limited to stall teams as it's far more abusable without cleric support.
  • Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Necrozma-DM, offensive Arceus-Ground, and Extreme Killer Arceus, Toxic allows Giratina-O to severely cut into the longevity of Pokemon including Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Primal Kyogre, and Thunder Wave cripples checks it lures on the switch like Zacian-C, and Yveltal.
  • The given EV spread avoids a 2HKO from Mega Mewtwo Y's Psystrike after Stealth Rock, and Primal Groudon's Eruption after Stealth Rock. This spread also ensures a 2HKO on Eruption Primal Groudon with Draco Meteor.
  • Tera Poison leaves Giratina-O with only a single weakness, enabling it as a blanket wall for a good portion of the metagame, especially as it loses its common weaknesses, turning it into a check for foes such as Eternatus, Zacian-C, and Arceus-Fairy. Tera Steel alongside Levitate ensures that Giratina resists the Ground- and Rock-type, which combined with Levitate, allows Giratina-O to completely wall Mega Salamence, Ultra Necrozma, Primal Groudon without Fire-type moves, and all variants of Arceus-Ground, plus better handle Extreme Killer Arceus with Shadow Claw. Both Tera type options also render it immune to Toxic from foes such as support Arceus formes, Primal Groudon, and Eternatus, improving its longevity.
  • As Giratina-O lacks reliable recovery, it's best to avoid letting it become crippled by a burn or bad poisoning from foes such as Ho-Oh, and support Arceus formes, as it can get worn down considerably to handle what it's meant to check properly. As Giratina-O Terastallizes, it loses some valuable resistances and immunities, so if foes it strongly checks as is such as Arceus and Primal Groudon with Fire-type moves are on the other team, it's best to preserve such mechanic later on, when deemed pertinent either for Giratina-O or an ally instead.
  • Giratina-O often lures switches as it can be rather passive, especially after using Draco Meteor, so it's often desirable to spread status first than to use attacks, especially as crippling foes benefits Hex.
  • Giratina-O can't wall Pokemon such as Zacian-C, Arceus-Fairy, Yveltal, and Eternatus without Terastallizing. Therefore, it appreciates allies such as Ho-Oh, Primal Groudon, and Necrozma-DM.
  • Depending on the status move Giratina-O has chosen, it can be rendered unable to make progress against certain foes. Will-O-Wisp sets can be passive against foes such as Arceus-Dark and Ho-Oh, Thunder Wave sets can struggle against support Arceus formes with Refresh and especially Arceus-Ground, and Toxic sets have a poor matchup against Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. Because of this, Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground with Power Gem, Primal Kyogre, and Primal Groudon are great allies.

  • Giratina-O's typing alongside high bulk, a wide utility movepool, offense boosted by Griseous Core, and Levitate, renders it into a mixed wall for that can take on foes such as Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, and Arceus.
  • As Giratina-O barely takes any entry hazard damage out of Levitate, it can use Defog on hazard setters such as Primal Groudon, (Remove comma) and Necrozma-DM. Rest is also an option to raise Giratina-O's longevity if it's not required as a Defogger.
  • Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Necrozma-DM, offensive Arceus-Ground, and Zygarde, Thunder Wave provides speed control for checks it lures on the switch like Zacian-C, Marshadow, and Yveltal, and Toxic allows Giratina-O to reduce the longevity of Pokemon including Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Primal Kyogre.
  • The given EV spread avoids a 2HKO from Mega Mewtwo Y's Psystrike after Stealth Rock, Primal Groudon's Eruption after Stealth Rock, and a OHKO from Ultra Necrozma's Dragon Pulse after Stealth Rock.
Tera Steel alongside Levitate ensures that Giratina resists the Ground- and Rock-type, this which combined with the other innate resists of such typing Levitate, allows Giratina-O to strongly wall Mega Salamence, Ultra Necrozma, Primal Groudon without Fire STAB moves, and all variants of Arceus-Ground. I'm not sure what "other innate resists of its typing", and it walls these foes with Steel + Levitate anyways Both Tera type options also render it immune to Toxic from foes including support Arceus formes, (Remove comma) and Eternatus, raising its longevity.
  • As Giratina-O lacks reliable recovery, it's best to try to keep it for the mid- to end-game to ensure it can do what it's meant to do well. As Giratina-O Terastallizes, it loses some valuable resistances and immunities, so if foes it strongly checks as is such as Arceus, (Remove comma) and Primal Groudon with Fire STAB are on the other team, it's best to preserve such mechanic later on, or to another ally.

  • Depending on the crippling status move Giratina-O has choosen, it can be rendered unable to make progress against certain foes. Will-O-Wisp sets can be passive against Fire-types such as Primal Groudon, (Remove comma) and Ho-Oh, Thunder Wave sets can struggle against Primal Groudon, (Remove comma) and Arceus-Ground, and Toxic sets have a poor matchup against Zacian-C, (Remove comma) and Necrozma-DM. • Giratina-O's typing alongside high bulk, a wide utility movepool, offense boosted by Griseous Core, and Levitate, renders it into a mixed wall that can take on foes such as Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, and Arceus.
  • As Giratina-O barely takes any entry hazard damage out of Levitate, it can use Defog on hazard setters such as Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM. Giratina-O threatens out common entry hazard setters such as Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM, allowing it to safely Defog consistently. a big part of giras downfall in longer games is how easily its worn down by rocks since it has no immediete recovery, cant hold boots or lefties, and is neutral to rocks. even rest sets get pressured to rest a lot after having to switch into attack + rocks repeatedly, so idt its really right to say it barely takes any entry hazard when its still quite prone, and it takes damage from the most common (debatably lol) hazard in the tier. I also think this sentence is a bit weird, since the point that needs to be made here is that gira forces them out so it can fog, not that because it is only weak to rocks since you are coming in as they fog. If the point you are trying to make here is that it cant be worn down easily by hazards in the long run, then i dunno i think i disagree with that Rest is also an option to raise Giratina-O's longevity if it's not required as a Defogger can probably mention what mons this helps outlast here, something like “letting it check xyz better in the long run”
  • Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Necrozma-DM, offensive Arceus-Ground, and Zygarde i feel like zyg is not. the best mention here, since most zygs run rest and the one set that doesnt can run drag z to bop you as well, arc normal would probably be a better shout Thunder Wave provides speed control for pretty sure this isnt the right usage of speed control, since its meant to be for teammates, this sounds like you are assisting the opponents pokemon, maybe impair or cripple could be a better choice here? checks it lures on the switch like Zacian-C, Marshadow i dont think any marshadow wants to switch into any of giras moves lol, and Yveltal, and Toxic allows Giratina-O to reduce severely cuts into minor nitpick ik but i feel the impact of tox is really huge, esp when trying to outlast hooh or limiting pdons switch ins the longevity of Pokemon including Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Primal Kyogre.
Tera Steel alongside Levitate ensures that Giratina resists the Ground- and Rock-type, which combined with Levitate, allows Giratina-O to strongly completely if you want an adverb this would be better i think wall Mega Salamence, Ultra Necrozma, Primal Groudon without Fire-type STAB moves, and all variants of Arceus-Ground. Both Tera type options also render it immune to Toxic from foes including such as support Arceus formes, Primal Groudon, and Eternatus, raising improving its longevity. can maybe talk about how it isnt weak to ghost any more, so you can tera in a pinch against sclaw (tera ghost?) arc normal, and wisp or hex or draco it
  • As Giratina-O lacks reliable recovery, it's best to try to keep it for the mid- to end-game to ensure it can do what it's meant to do well im unsure if this is what you want to say to people who are using this mon, this is more like something you would say irt a sweeper like dd unec, you can use gira o at any point of the match and it will function well. i think the reasoning for this point would go better with something along the lines of “play carefully with your gira to not let it get statused as it can get worn down very quickly” or something like that. As Giratina-O Terastallizes, it loses some valuable resistances and immunities, so if foes it strongly checks as is such as Arceus and Primal Groudon with Fire-type moves STAB are on the other team, it's best to preserve such mechanic later on, or to another ally. the ending part needs rewording slightly, as saying "tera something else instead" doesnt make sense as advice as your expected to only tera it if needed, so maybe something along the lines of "be cautious about threats that gira needs to check and tera accordingly"? or like manage your tera well something like that idk
Will-O-Wisp sets can be passive against Fire-types such as Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh, Thunder Wave sets can struggle against Primal Groudon and Arceus-Ground, all the pdon mentions dont make much sense to me, the mon has very limited longeevity and doesn ever want to take draco, so saying its “passive” , that it strugggles or that it cant make progress is a bit of a peculiar way of wording it, im sure you can use stuff like idk darkceus for wisp, and maybe yvel or arc normal for twave? just arc ground is fine 2 me tbh and Toxic sets have a poor matchup against Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. Because of this, Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground with Power Gem, Primal Kyogre, and Primal Groudon are great allies.
