My streak in Super Multi with AI just ended at 78. I will post videos of battle when I have wifi. This is some insane hard stuff. It literally took me months to finally get to 50 wins. Then the team I eventually ended up with got 28 more wins on top of that. I swear the AI just wants me to lose or something. My partner is Captain Kiawe, and I had to build a team strict around his tendency to want to Earthquake my guy.
Here's my team:
Latios @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature (Timid Nature)
- Psychic
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Protect
Celesteela @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Docile Nature (Modest Nature)
- Flash Cannon
- Giga Drain
- Air Slash
- Protect
My partner:
Kangaskhan @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Parental Bond
EVs: No idea, probably max Atk and Spe
Jolly Nature (I think, because it's faster than my Latios)
- Double Edge
- Fake Out
- Sucker Punch (he almost never uses this...)
- Earthquake
Salazzle @ Focus Sash
Ability: No idea, never came into play
EVs: Probably max SpA and Spe
Timid Nature (I think, it's pretty fast)
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Fake Out
- Nasty Plot
After so many tries, I finally started to learn his tendencies. 80% of the time, Kangaskhan and Salazzle will start by Fake Out the one they can do more damage on. If Kangaskhan cannot knock out something with Double Edge, it will always use Earthquake next unless all opponents are airborne. Salazzle will usually use Nasty Plot if it can't knock out something right away, but this is less certain. On the opening turn, the challenge is trying to predict which opponent Kangaskhan will Fake Out, then either use Devastating Drake on the other one or which ever one is the bigger threat. Once an opposing trainer has lost a Pokemon, I will focus fire on that trainer exclusively to try to make it a 2 on 1 situation asap, even sacking Latios just to make it happen. Originally I was using Latias with the exact set because Latios gets OHKOed quite often, but Latias' Devastating Drake often just misses the OHKO, so I hate to switch to Latios and hope for the best. Well, I have the Super Multi stamp now and will not be touching this godforsaken mode ever again :D
