art credit to IMakeNoSense ! Hope you don't mind I reuse your SUPER COOL art ;)

Sign up Deadline: December 28th (Latest you can join and send your ideas in)

Building Deadline: Jan 3rd (Latest you send the team in)

Happy happy holidays! :)

As most of you probably know, Secret Santa is an event in which the members of a community anonymously exchange gifts between themselves. In this particular Secret Santa, which is pretty similar to teambuilding workshop. Each person who signs up will send me a DM with a Pokemon or a core they'd like someone else to build a team with. Afterwards, everyone who joined the project will receive one of the aforementioned ideas and will have to build a team with it before the building deadline. Finally, the teams will be posted in this thread by everyone participating.

General Rules:

  • Post "in" or whatever else you want to (as long as the intent is clear) to join.
  • Don't sign up if you can't guarantee that you'll be able to finish building a team in time. I'll try to keep tabs on everyone and help if needed, but depending on the amount of sign ups we get, it could be hard to do this.
  • Avoid telling people what request you sent/got, as it could ruin the surprise!
Submission Rules:

  • Each request submission should be sent to me through Smogon PM not Discord. I will not be able to keep track of discord submissions. You don't need to do it right after signing up, but if you fail to do it until the sign up deadline then your sign up will be void.
  • Your allowed to request basically anything, any pokemon, theme, oldgens, or even monotype/dlc/lower lc tiers is fair game, as long as its legal in gen9ou.
  • After sign-ups close, I'll use the same DM each user sent with their request in order to let them know the Pokemon or core that was assigned to them.
  • Once you're done building, post the team you made on the thread and share the gift!
Recommendations:

  • Don't be afraid to join just because you feel like you might be "bad" at teambuilding. Its just a fun activity! I'm willing to help everyone who feels this way, and dont be afraid to ask me on my discord, @richgold. Just make sure you put in some effort!
  • You're allowed to change requests until the sign up deadline.
  • Have fun!
Happy holidays y'all! - matte

Hello Heatranator Happy New Year!

You asked a team with Skeledirge and here is it: :poliwrath: :skeledirge: :gliscor: :iron_treads: :slowking_galar: :weavile https://pokepast.es/e4b9d1988fb68ff8

Skeledirge has seen better days in the metagame, nowadays every Mon looks like every Mon high on the VR hits it effectively and forces it to Tera in every battle. This means the task of building a team with Skeledirge is not an easy one. I randomized the first Skeledirge teammate and the first viable Mon that appeared is Poliwrath, which defined the style of the team, a defensive one but not Stall. This was bound to happen anyway, the only offensive styles in which Skeledirge somehow fits nowadays would be Sun or Trick Room, both have some limitations.

So, first Mon is Poliwrath. This guy walls Kingambit, Samurott Hisui (except the one Scarf with Air Slash I had to face on ladder, but I doubt it will be common), Weavile and situationally some other Mons, Darkrai included. Water Absorb is cool in a Meta that has seen a Water type Uber come down. The ability allows to give Rain teams huge problems and sometimes switch into Walking Wake too. With Tera, it also walls Waterpon, though you shouldn,t use Tera if Kingambit is still alive. Restalk are obvious moves on a defensive set, Circle Throw prevents set-up and allows our hazards to do big damage. Knock Off because its a broken move in a hazard stack. Option Tera types: Bug, Flying and Grass. What all these have in common is that they resist Grass without being weak to Ground. Bug and Flying would pretty much require Boots (suboptimal item for a Knock absorber). Grass will be better if we remove Palafin from the tier.

Skeledirge is the other physical wall and one of the win conditions of the team. Its the most likely Mon to Tera. It has 3 offensive moves because I don,t like WoW on something this slow and weak to Rocks. With Tera Fairy, it walls half of the tier while removing the 5 weaknesses the crocodile has. Base typing is still useful in a lot of situations though. Shadow Ball, Hex or Roar could be used instead of Earth Power, but since you are a Heatran enjoyer, you should be respecting the Mon.

Who puts the hazards for our 2 walls? The most broken Hazard setter of course. Sdef Gliscor takes hits well from both sides and OHKOs big threats with Toxic. One layer of Spikes is often enough to force some progress, but Gliscor has the durability to put all 3. Tera Ghost is sometimes used to prevent the Spin, though Water, Grass and Dragon are viable alternatives. Take into account that Gliscor in some match-ups (especially vs opposing Spikes) becomes worse regardless of the Tera type it uses, Ground Flying is too good.

The other Ground Mon is Iron Treads, a Steel Mon is needed in 95% of the teams and a spinner is always good to have, especially if it has room for Rocks. Treads too has an excellent defensive typing (much better than Tusk, who should always be offensive) and has Knock Off to pair with Spin. Ice Spinner is good for all the Landos that come to put Rocks again. The move could be changed for EQ or removed all together, but I like it this way. Gliscor could be using Knock instead of Treads, but one of them has to have EQ, I prefer that for Gliscor, since Ghosts will be switching into Treads, not Gliscor (except the public enemy number 1, Balloon Gholdengo). EVs allow Treads to outspeed Darkrai and Weavile after 1 Spin. Optional Tera type: Dark for the Knock Off buff. This is not relevant, since Treads is the Mon least likely to Tera on this team.

Like Steel, a Poison is also pretty much required to have, Glowking is the most suitable for this team. First 3 Moves are very common, last one can be pretty much anything, I decided to try Psychic Noise, which bypasses sub and molests Mons that heal and suffer from our Hazards. Alternative Tera types: Grass, Fairy and Dragon. Wouldn,t use them though.

Lastly, an actual offensive Mon is also needed for emergency situations and as a win condition. Weavile is the best at that, since its an offensive Kyurem check that also Knocks and can sweep. Tera Fire = burn immunity, but it also allows to take Make It Rain or Moonblast from Scarf Enamorus. Alternative Tera types are the STAB ones.

Problems:
1. Gholdengo, but he always is a problem for every team that is not an HO. Just outplay it.
2. Ground Mons that have Ice coverage: Tusk, Treads and Kyurem. This team is very Ground weak, so you have to play carefully. Early Tera with Skeledirge allows to take hits from the elephants, but limits you in the later stages of the match.
3. Waterpon, especially if it comes with Gambit. If Waterpon comes alone, just Tera Poliwrath. If Gambit is Waterpon's teammate, you can,t do that, so Skeledirge should be Tera'd as soon as possible. At full, Skeledirge also can take any Gambit hit.
4. Dakrai. Has endless coverage, so has to be scouted and outplayed.
5. Triple Axel missing. Well, just don,t use the move too much, lol.

With some time, I probably could have reached 1900 with this team, but since we have a ladder with Suspect, its way harder, so 1800 is all I reached. Its not my best team, but it is viable enough. In some battles (as seen in Replays below) I throw early game, but team ends up being solid enough to win what looks impossible fights:

Well, this is it, the last team I have built in 2024. Hopefully we have a better Meta (without dolphin and some other bonkers) in 2025.

Hi pixelpenguin! I got you for secret santa and made a psyspam for you.

https://pokepast.es/8fb0c67d5d3ad8e8

:deoxys-speed: :iron-crown: :indeedee: :hatterene: :armarouge: :hawlucha:

The first mon is Deo-S for speed control and anti Samu lead

208+ Atk Deoxys-Speed Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Samurott-Hisui: 268-316 (83.4 - 98.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Samurott-Hisui Sucker Punch vs. 8 HP / 72 Def Deoxys-Speed: 204-242 (83.9 - 99.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The point of the set is to superpower out into helm hatt to get rid of Samu. Also just a great lead and way to get free Indeedee in. This does however make us unable to use eject button hatt but vs some set up mons you do not really love being forced out after eating a big hit. We have a good chance to ohko Gambit even if it's max hp where it is slightly in our favor to ohko. We are Tera Dark here to get rid of Gking and keeping a tera type that beats Gambit but fighting/psychic here is still fine because we are immune to Sucker in terrain and fighting does help chip down Lu anyways.

208+ Atk Deoxys-Speed Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 16 Def Slowking-Galar: 214-252 (54.3 - 63.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

208+ Atk Tera Dark Deoxys-Speed Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 16 Def Slowking-Galar: 320-378 (81.2 - 95.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

208+ Atk Tera Fighting Deoxys-Speed Superpower vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Ting-Lu: 276-326 (53.6 - 63.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Tera Psychic Deoxys-Speed Psycho Boost vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ogerpon-Wellspring in Psychic Terrain: 258-304 (85.7 - 100.9%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Our second mon is Iron Crown to help our speed control and being a fairy and ice resist for the team.

Iron Crown is immune to sucker now and only has to hit Focus Blast to hit Gambit and is very scary for most slower teams lacking lu. It has good calcs vs everything neutral and typically forces mons like Gambit to tera. Pretty self explanatory mon but you have to take note of Twave Gking and Lu since they don't die even at +1 and cripple you afterwards. Somethin else you can do is Tera Ground for Twave Gking and maybe Groundblast for Bolt after terrain ends but you still 2hko Gking at +1 with Expanding Force regardless of vest or regular Boots.

+1 172 SpA Iron Crown Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ogerpon-Wellspring in Psychic Terrain: 354-417 (117.6 - 138.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 172 SpA Iron Crown Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 234-276 (59.3 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 172 SpA Iron Crown Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 96 SpD Assault Vest Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 195-229 (49.4 - 58.1%) -- 98.4% chance to 2HKO

172 SpA Tera Ground Iron Crown Tera Blast (80 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Raging Bolt: 260-308 (66.4 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Our third mon is Indeedee our setter and an Hwish and Encore mon for the team that can come in handy sometimes and its Expanding Force is still pretty strong. And it can Tera Fairy Dgleam to barely ohko Moon if need be but if they calc they should know any of EQ or Acro is a clean ohko and ignores Tera Fairy but it only gets out of hand if it can dd past Lucha or be healthy enough to take on Lucha. Other than that it's really just gonna be clicking Hwish and Encore to be extra safe against set up mons that can set up to be faster than or live Lucha. It's calcs are really nothing anything special but can annoy some mons because it still hits pretty hard without any invest it does however 2hko most non special wall mons so that is something it has going for it in some end games.

0 SpA Indeedee Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 118-141 (29.9 - 35.7%) -- 35.1% chance to 3HKO

0 SpA Indeedee Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian in Psychic Terrain: 211-249 (55.2 - 65.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 SpA Indeedee Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Zapdos in Psychic Terrain: 192-226 (50.1 - 59%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Our 4th mon is Helm Hatt that is the 2nd support mon and 2nd hwish for Armarouge or Deos.

I know I said we can Tera Fairy the Indeedee for Moon but if we have a healthy hatt nohing moon does has great odds to Ohko Hatt so this should be the first thing you send out. Ada moon does have a good chance to Ohko with Tera Fly Acro but that is usually a webs mon or not max attack on regular HO 144 Ada a commonish spread does still have a 50/50 chance to ohko us and honestly not the worst since moon does do great vs Psyspam. I love Helm Psychic Noise for Blissey (Nuzzle before this sequence and you should force it out) and other Fat mons but Expanding Force is also valid because it has insane SPA. We are Tera Flying for BU Tusk and probably does help vs most Clods if you fight any.

0 SpA Hatterene Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 150-177 (38 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

0 SpA Hatterene Psychic Noise vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 94-112 (23.8 - 28.4%) -- 96.7% chance to 4HKO (Note that Psychic Noise does not negate Regen Healing)

Our 5th mon is our most interesting mon in Armarouge. This is our only Sash mon so we should Hwish this up if possible and honestly nothing else really appreciates it outside of Deo since unburden would be gone and Crown lost it's booster. I think a Terablast like Fairy would be great for this just to surprise Moon but Endure is valid because getting weak armour is very nice. Other options are grass Energy Ball or Tera Fire on the Endure set to get a good boost in damage on our Fire stab but those are very specific but Grass should be good for Lu and Waterpon.

252+ SpA Armarouge Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Slowking-Galar in Psychic Terrain: 186-219 (47.2 - 55.5%) -- 74.2% chance to 2HKO

252+ SpA Tera Grass Armarouge Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 198-234 (38.5 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Our last mon is Lucha because immediate speed is very nice and i'm not loving 5 Psychic Types and it helps the moon matchup significantly especially if you set up first. Tera Blast Ground for Bolt since we don't need to encore Gambit anymore in Terrain but you can still use it to punish random moves or slot Stone Edge for Moltres and maybe you crit Zapdos but if not Tera Blast we should probably just be Encore.

+2 252+ Atk Tera Ground Hawlucha Tera Blast (80 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Raging Bolt: 488-576 (124.8 - 147.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Protosynthesis Raging Bolt Dragon Pulse vs. +1 72 HP / 60 SpD Tera Ground Hawlucha: 184-217 (58.4 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I tried to make this team not cheesy but still a decent Psyspam for 4 forced Psychic Types and wanting Hatt. This should be fine against Palafin because it gives us one turn and can't click Jet Punch but I was not able to test this but might add replays later. Happy Holidays!

GOATED im_m0rtal. yooo was good I got u for secret santa so I cooked up some pult offense for you that did pretty good on the ladder, I’ll attach the peak and paste below:

IMG_5031.jpeg

:landorus-therian::Kingambit::Kyurem::slowking-galar::Quaquaval::dragapult:

https://pokepast.es/18d37967c9e458a9

:landorus-therian:: Up first we got my boy for some important immunities to ground and electric, stealth rocks, pivoting, and most importantly to check physical attackers and Raging Bolt with EQ instead of Earth Power. Taunt also helps with hazards, Defog attempts, and takes a load off of :Quaquaval: hazard removal wise.

:Kingambit:: Can’t have an offense team without this goober, he’s here as our resident steel type and ghost resist, and is also here with max HP investment to help check physical threats and sponge hits. SD also gives us some breaking capabilities as well to handle those bulkier teams or to clean a weakened team.

:Kyurem:: Squad needed some immediate power so u already know we had to add the ice king himself, with specs and Tera ice this thing hits like a truck with very few switch ins, and with support from snow can hit even harder with Blizzard and sponge more hits with the sheist defense boost. Chill Mon all around- I’ll see myself out…

:slowking-galar:: resident fairy resist, special wall, t spike absorber, chip spreader with trick sludge and pivot, my boy has clutched countless games with the broken move that is Chilly Reception. Future Sight helps :Quaquaval: spin against :pecharunt: teams and also helps :Kingambit: and :Kyurem: break down bulkier teams as well. “Good ol reliable” ahhh Mon.

:quaquaval:: team needed a spinner but :great_tusk: was lookin a little out of place so I had to experiment and try out my waterfowl homie, with AV this thing sponges hits like nobodies business and with Tera electric is immune to paralysis and can check :raging_bolt: in a pinch. Aqua Step and Moxie also lets u become a pseudo sweeper against shit like :Ribombee: which is a TERRIBLE Mon btw never use that shit :Araquanid: is ten times better. Team also needed a Knocker so this dude fits the bill (get it) for that as well, also let’s it cripple :pecharunt: and kill offensive :Gholdengo: if it needs to. Anyways yeah this MF surprised me with his performance good Mon all around (shoutouts to Joltinjoe for this spread btw)

:dragapult:: Last but not least the set and spread u requested, this MF is super helpful against the threat that is :Palafin: and with wisp pretty much guarantees being helpful every match as long as u land that shit, especially sheist against :Kingambit: comin in on ur ass as well. Tera dragon lets u hit absurdly hard along with the dragon fang even without the DD boost, and lets u threaten more defensive mons as well that don’t resist dragon. Also I changed the nature to adamant from jolly since it’s better overall on DD sets and let’s u hit some important kills, u can change it back if u want but before u do peep the calc:

+1 252+ Atk Dragon Fang Tera Dragon Dragapult Dragon Darts (2 hits) vs. 244 HP / 36 Def Gliscor: 328-388 (93.1 - 110.2%) -- approx. 62.5% chance to OHKO

Anyways yeah this team suprised me with its efficiency and I hope it surprises u too when u use it, I’ll drop some heat replays below as well:

Happy holidays Tysonslayer ! Here is your Hydrapple BO:

:hydrapple: :rillaboom: :heatran: :great-tusk: :samurott-hisui: :hawlucha:

:hydrapple:: The team was built around this guy. Provides a Water and Ground resist, although it is weak to a lot of things. Heals a lot of health over time thanks to Regenerator, Leftovers, and Grassy Terrain (also boosts the power of Giga Drain for even more recovery). Nasty Plot lets it break through things like Slowking-Galar and even Corviknight with lucky Fickle Beam procs. Tera Poison gives Hydrapple a good defensive typing (especially with Grassy Terrain weakening Earthquakes) and resistances to Fairy and Fighting, meaning it can check Iron Valiant, Primarina, and Zamazenta.

:rillaboom:: I've been building a lot of Grassy Terrain teams lately, and Hydrapple fits on those structures well. Rillaboom offers a check to Ogerpon-Wellspring if it has Play Rough and provides priority in Grassy Glide. Tera Fire makes it immune to Burn, letting it actually attack without the risk of Flame Body making it nearly useless in the Moltres matchup. Rillaboom will rarely use Tera, though.

:heatran:: Blanket check to most special attackers and wall to pretty much every Fire type in the tier (minus specific tech like Tera Ground Tera Blast). Magma Storm can trap things like Slowking-Galar and Kyurem with Tera (if it hits). Will-o-Wisp can help against switchins like Ogerpon-Wellspring and Great Tusk. Loves that Grassy Terrain weakens Earthquake and offers passive recovery. Tera Ghost offers a Fighting immunity and a good defensive type.

:great-tusk:: Provides hazard removal, hits hard, and checks Kingambit. Appreciates having a Ground type move that isn't weakened by Grassy Terrain. I was skeptical about Ice Spinner at first, but being able to hit Flying types is very useful, even if it does remove terrain. Tera Steel lets it resist Fairy and Ice while being immune to Poison.

:samurott-hisui:: AV Samurott is bulky and can check a lot of special attackers that Heatran can't beat like Glimmora. It also lays down Spikes, removes items, and slow(ish) pivots. I found the EV spread here (credit goes to mcribs). The EVs allow Samurott to live a Specs Iron Crown Focus Blast. Tera Fire makes it immune to Burn and gives it a better matchup into Kyurem and Iron Valiant.

:hawlucha:: Hawlucha offers an actually fast Pokemon and Encore to help against sweepers. With the Grassy Seed Defense bonus, it can take hits like 5 Fallen Kingambit Sucker Punch and Great Tusk's Ice Spinner somewhat comfortably, letting it set up and sweep. Tera Electric makes it immune to Paralysis and gives it resistances to Electric and Flying, letting it set up on Zapdos and not be revenged by Thunderclap.

:hydrapple: Hope you enjoy the team! :hydrapple:

Eeveeto Happy New Year.

Somehow we got each other, and you requested Lokix. Funnily enough, I was already making a Lokix team, so I just finalised that. It has some cool techs on it, but the structure is mostly standard.

:lokix: :moltres: :great tusk: :iron crown: :dragapult: :samurott hisui:

:pmd/lokix: We start out with lokix, and here we have a set I have been loving, SD Lokix. This set still has the revenge killing applications that normal Lokix does, but it can also sweep opposing defensive teams once they are chipped a bit with +2 leech life or knock off. I decided to use tera bug in order to boost the power of fimp and leech life.

:pmd/moltres: To support our bug friend, next we have moltres. This is mostly a standard set, but I went with scorching sands, which can help against tera fire zamazenta, iron moth and heatran, all of which are major annoyances for lokix. Tera grass helps a lot against waterpon, which is otherwise an issue for the team.

:pmd/great tusk: With two stealth rock weak mons, we ofc needed some hazard control if knock off was clicked against them. In comes the main mon, great tusk. This is just a standard set with rocks, which is as good as ever.

:pmd/iron crown: I needed something to help on the special defensive side, so here comes iron crown. Iron crown can help a lot with lokix's breaking by setting up nasty combos with future sight to break open defensive cores. Standard set.

:pmd/dragapult: I noticed that the team could struggle to switch into woger, and something to help break bulkier teams was needed. Here comes dragapult. I went with thunder wave over will-o-wisp to help against tera fire zamazenta and can help against fire types like cinder that think they can potentially switch in on wisp.

:pmd/samurott hisui: Lastly, I wanted something to help with the defensive component of this team and something that could preferably set up spikes. AV Hamurott was the perfect pick, though in previous iterations sp.defense washtom was here. Having two AV mons on a team may seem weird, but they pair beautifully together as the fire, dark and ghost types that super effectively hit crown, are fodder for hamurott. Just a standard set that's able to do well into offense and defense.

Here's some replays. They aren't nearly as good as the ones you provided, but these should show how the team functions/

T'is I Faux (Not Focalors nor Furina because diemond35472 just shortened it to that but anyways-)

:SV/Jirachi::SV/slowking-galar::SV/zapdos::SV/great-tusk::SV/kyurem::SV/kingambit:
Happy Holidays matte! (Click text for team)

Thank you matte for letting me make this team as your secret Santa this year ^^

:jirachi:
Obviously I needed jirachi as that was matte 's wishlist for this year.
:jirachi::slowking-galar::zapdos::ogerpon-wellspring::kyurem::gholdengo:
This was the prototype team made mainly focused on Kyurem potentially sweeping and Ogerpon-W as a back-up sweeper (and for those wondering, Jirachi will be a punching bag- I mean hazard lead thoughout this process). Shoutouts to obliteratorofjoe on Pokemon Showdown! (no smogon account sadly,) for helping me make this prototype team. Ogerpon-W also serves as a semi-check to Palafin. This team didn't work out as the sets and stuff we're kinda weird and doesn't blend well.
:jirachi::slowking-galar::zapdos::great-tusk::kyurem::kingambit:
After a couple of battles and drawing board ideas scrapped. This is the team we made as our final gift for you matte ;)

:jirachi: - Jirachi is still a punching bag- I mean hazard lead in which it either dies after setting rocks and spreading para/flinches or uses healing wish.
EDIT: This is optional but go for tera ghost instead of tera dark if you're willing to use tera in front of tusk but what good will it do anyways but just saying from experience :quagchamppogsire:
:kyurem: - Kyurem sweeps (Tera Ghost is for espeed dnite or bp zamazenta) but only after Slowking-G sets up chilly reception, speaking of slowking-g.
:slowking-galar: - Slowking-g can pivot and delete sun or rain with chilly reception so best keep them alive as best as you can when against sun/rain teams.
:zapdos: - Specs zapdos is a cool surprise factor + is a bulky special attacker and is a second pivot user.
:Great-tusk: - Tusk does tusk things.
:kingambit: - Kingambit is a back up sweeper.

matte - Host of this thread + the one I'll give my team to.
diemond35472 - For nicknaming me Faux ^^'
obliteratorofjoe (on PS!) - For helping me with the teambuilding process

Now it may not be perfect but it is usable and fun to use! (Sadly no replays to show how it works as most of them are low ladder + I forgot to save them but) Have fun matte and others and let us all have a great time for this year of 2025!

hi Pokemh! happy holidays, I made you a team with :palafin-hero: and boots :raging-bolt: as you wanted :)

https://pokepast.es/0cb8ec729500f38e

:palafin-hero: :raging-bolt: :tornadus-therian: :samurott-hisui: :pecharunt: :great-tusk:

First, the :palafin-hero: :raging-bolt: core. With Bolt being boots, I wanted to create a volt turn core with Palafin, so I made it boots as well. They don't truly volt turn as Ground types will block Volt Switch, but the threat of Dragon Pulse keeps them in check. They also form a nice dual priority core that can help ease endgame scenarios.

:palafin-hero: I decided to make this boots 4 attack to keep up the pivot pressure with Bolt while not being stopped by hazards. Flip Turn is the main move you'll click, letting you bring in Bolt. Close Combat is your strongest neutral attack on stuff like Mola, Ogerpon, and Corvi. Ice Punch is potentially not necessary, but it's a nice midground click into Dragapult, Rillaboom, and Ogerpon. This set sometimes misses the huge burst damage of Wave Crash, so Ice Punch can be substituted. Tera Fire let's you block Grass moves from Rilla and Ogerpon and dodge burn from Pult to nail it with Ice Punch. Getting it activated is annoying but with so many pivots, you can easily bring it in and sacrifice some momentum for it being active. Palafin really hates Rocky Helmet so use Samurott to knock those off, they both invite in the same mons.

:raging-bolt: I'm not the greatest fan of Boots Bolt, but it's okay on this team. Taunt turns Ting Lu and Clod into free switch ins to Torn and Palafin. Volt Switch lets you bring in Samurott to click Knock for Palafin and set up spikes, or Palafin itself to keep pivoting. Dragon Pulse scares Ground types and is also your strongest click. This mon needs a lot of help clicking Volt Switch so the prime objective is to weaken the enemy Grounds.

:tornadus-therian: Torn is here to handle the Ground types that Bolt invites in. It's an amazing Knocker that knocks mons that are usually hard to knock like Glowking, Clod, and other annoyances to Bolt's Volt Switch. Bleakwind Storm is unfortunately the best STAB, but it hits mons with low spdef like Gliscor hard, forcing them out lest Bolt knock them out later. RegenVest lets it come in repeatedly on weak hits even with Rocks up. Tera Steel is this team's best answer to Kyurem, though it makes the team more Ground weak so Tera only when needed. It may be worthwhile to trade with Kyurem in order to knock it.

:samurott-hisui: This mon is legitimately amazing. It can knock Mola and Corv for Palafin to endlessly Flip Turn on, set spikes, and answer certain special attackers with AV. It outspeeds uninvested Gliscor. Jet Punch and Thunderclap let Samu get away with Sacred Sword, which helps the Kingambit matchup and cuts down any Darkrai that stays in.

:pecharunt: This is here as the obligatory Ogerpon check as Palafin can unfortunately let it in sometimes, though the hazards prevent it from coming in too much. The speed is for preventing Tusk from spinning, but more defense can be run to give the team a stronger defensive backbone. It's also the only Fairy resist, so be careful of Fairy types because they absolutely steam this team if they get a chance.

:great-tusk: Finally, the GOAT relieves pressure on Samu and Torn as those are the only mons that are affected by hazards. Against Gliscor teams and Corv teams, getting up Rocks up quick will help wear them down for Raging Bolt and Palafin respectively.

Threats:
:ting-lu: Public Enemy #1. With this mon on the enemy team, you can forget about clicking Volt Switch. Knock it with Torn and set spikes in order to force it to take large amounts of damage. You'll probably need to take several EQs with Palafin to force it out once it's in, though at least most of the team is immune to Spikes.

:Kyurem: Public Enemy #2. Knocking this with Torn can help prevent DD sweeps in combination with Tera Water Pecha. Otherwise, this team is incredibly weak to Freeze Dry, so Knocking this is very important to keep it from getting a kill every time it comes in. Try to not let it in for free.

:Gliscor: Can range from Public Enemy #3 to just very annoying. Spdef can take Dragon Pulses with ease but Great Tusk's Ice Spinner will lots more damage. Limit how long this stays on the field to keep it from healing all its health back.

:Gholdengo: with Spikes up is really annoying since Samu can't switch in as easily. Originally this team had Ting Lu to handle it, but AV Torn and Heat Wave is all you have now.

Hope you have fun with this team :)
