We're here to announce the 2024 Ubers circuit! The circuit is a collection of individual tournaments spread throughout the year with varying classifications, generations, with and formats all coming together to allow players to earn points for the final showdown - the Ubers Championship, where the top 16 performers will battle to earn the Ubers Ribbon (

)! This ribbon displays on a user's profile complete with hover text to showcasing their achievement as the top Ubers player of 2024. This thread will also give information on the details behind the tournaments that have been revamped from 2023.

Changes from 2023 to 2024 circuit

Due to the very large amount of points awarded from old gen tournaments in our last circuit, we decided to overhaul most of our old gen qualifications. Classic and homefield will remain unchanged, but every other old gen tournament (pentathlon, retro cup, rby cup, gsc cup, ss cup, farceus) will now not directly give circuit points, but instead points towards an old gens leaderboard. After all of these tournaments conclude the users with the top 16 most points will be awarded type B circuit points based on the leaderboard. This was done to try and remove the very heavy old gens focus we had last year, as circuit playoffs is all current gen so it should be weighted far more heavily than winning in a lot of old gen tournaments.

UWC is back! After being switched for UWTT for a while due to issues with the hosting side and overall issues of the world cup format, we've re-added it to the circuit due to popular demand. As this post goes up it's currently ongoing so this isn't a surprise to anyone, but how it performs here may determine what formats we continue with down the road for our winter team tour.

Flying economy has been removed from the circuit this year. While a fun tournament, it introduced custom rules in a current gen setting that weren't reflective enough of the real metagame for it to be reconsidered this year as an official circuit tournament.

As Fc mentioned in the post above, we have split our Old Gen Tournaments (excluding Classic) into a new Old-Gen specific circuit that will contribute points to the 2024 Ubers Circuit as according to performance in all Old Gen tournaments throughout the year, totaling the equivalent of a type B tournament. The top 32 players from the Old Gens circuit will receive points. This will include all individual cups in Open, but not the playoffs. Each tournament will be unweighted (or weighted as if they were all Type A tournaments) in the Old Gens circuit, with the breakdown of the year end points distribution from this circuit shown in the examples below.

Note: these are not accurate to how it would have been last year, and is meant as a visual guide for how the system could look. The numbers were inflated and favouring the cg top 16 for the sake of a simple visual.

While laddering for ULT, ox04 requested that his opponent forfeit after feeling like he was unlucky throughout the game. While this did not lead to a forfeit from the other player, asking for a player to forfeit for you while on a ULT account is considered the same as asking someone to forfeit in any other tournament match. Being on the ladder does not make the games less a part of the tournament.

As a result of this, ox04 has been circuit banned. While normally this would last for 2 months, due to the repeated nature of this transgression and ox04's history, the ubers moderation team has decided to make this a 3 month ban from the Ubers circuit. While this does not apply to Ubers Open, it will apply to all other ubers tournaments, including UPL.
