Alright pals, it's been a hell of a ride, but we've finally arrived at the 2021 CAP Championships! Thank you to every single one of you who's played in our first ever official tournament circuit, it's been a blast hosting it. The 2022 CAP Circuit is currently in development so stay tuned for another exciting year of tournament play. Without further ado, you'll find the matchups below.

Rules:
  • This is a standard [Gen 8] CAP tournament.
  • The format is best of three, single elimination.
  • Changing teams in between matches is allowed.
  • You are required to post your replays.
  • All Smogon tournament rules apply.
  • Any change in tiering will not take effect until the following round.
  • Matches must be played on Pokemon Showdown or Smogtours.
  • Please use this guide while scheduling with your opponent.

SHSP vs dex - shsp murders his manager in cold blood. this will be a tragic series no matter the outcome
D2TheW vs Lasen - i rate both about the same skill wise. both are also known to bring varying degrees of crack. gut feeling tells me to bold d2 as long as he hits his magmas
Maxouille vs quziel - quz has won this mu before and i believe he will do it again
Heaven Jay vs Dj Breloominati♬ - really cool pairing, and really close too! probably going to see a very strange series out of this, but i’ve got a hunch jay takes it

SHSP vs arnav - man, hard to say here. arnav’s been on a hell of a roll, but SHSP is buffed by the prospect of a finals set against D2. cant believe he’ll be knocked out this easily
D2theW vs crying - having to pick between my friend and my teammate :pirate:… i feel like crying is one of the favorites to take the tour and as long as they’re motivated, this should be their series
quziel vs RSQ - rsq lost their very close set in playtest and he will be bloodlusted for revenge
Heaven Jay vs TNM - i can count the amount of times TNM has lost in cap on one hand and i wouldnt even need all my fingers

Semis
SHSP vs TNM - same as above
RSQ vs crying - this mu would be so exciting to see happen. on RSQ’s best day id bold him over the whole pool but it’s still very hard for me to think crying isnt favored. close one for sure, but i trust crying’s skills. id say this has big upset potential

Finals
TNM vs crying - out of all the potential pairings in this tour, this is definitely one of the most hype (second only to a SHSP D2 finals set). i’m tempted to bold crying if only because the 1st seed rarely actually wins these things - tnm has just given such little reason to doubt him, though, to where i think it’ll be an uphill battle for his opponent no matter who it is. again, hugely hype finals with just as big potential for an upset.
