Basculegion-M can opt for either a physical or special set, and they both come with their benefits and drawbacks. A physical set is more easily walled, but its Liquidation gets to come off its higher Attack. Additionally, Phantom Force being a two-turn attack means it may not always hit Basculegion-M's desired target, though it always gets a free turn of healing from Leftovers. On the other hand, a specially oriented Substitute Basculegion-M has access to reliable moves for both of its STAB types, isn't as held back by four-moveslot syndrome as physical sets are, and can surprise physical walls. However, this comes at a price of its noticeably lower Special Attack. Aqua Jet lets Basculegion-M safely pick off foes like Cinccino, Munkidori, and Infernape at low health, ensuring neither it nor its Substitute takes damage. Endeavor capitalizes on Substitute lowering Basculegion-M's HP, letting it cut down the HP of walls that it can struggle with like Vaporeon, Avalugg, and Amoonguss. On the other hand, Pain Split lets Basculegion-M simply recover some HP while simultaneously dealing damage. Leftovers is preferred, since it provides passive healing, mitigating Substitute's impact on Basculegion-M's HP. However, Metronome can capitalize on Substitute giving Basculegion-M free turns, letting it continually attack and more easily beat Vaporeon and Gastrodon, and Heavy-Duty Boots means Basculegion-M doesn't need to worry about constant chip damage from entry hazards, though this forces Basculegion-M to run Pain Split if it wishes to have any form of recovery. Jolly and Timid natures can also be used so that Basculegion-M outspeeds Tsareena, Breloom, and Toxicroak, but the wallbreaking power of Adamant and Modest is typically better. Tera Water increases the power of both Liquidation and Surf, letting Basculegion-M break through walls more easily, while Tera Dark allows it to take Ghost-type attacks from Chandelure and opposing Basculegion-M as well as Dark-type moves like Incineroar's Knock Off if necessary.

Gastrodon and Roar Vaporeon are the main roadblocks for Basculegion-M, so partners that can help pressure them like Breloom, Toxicroak, and Freeze-Dry Alolan Ninetales make for good pairings. In return, Basculegion-M can whittle down Amoonguss for Breloom as well as take care of Galarian Slowbro and Bronzong for Toxicroak and Alolan Ninetales. Pivots like Munkidori, Flygon, and Whimsicott that draw in Pokemon that Basculegion-M can set Substitute on and take advantage of, like Bronzong, Vaporeon, and Toxicroak, are greatly appreciated, though Basculegion-M must be cautious of Toxicroak's Knock Off sets. Substitute Basculegion-M sets excel at weakening defensive Water-resistant Pokemon like Amoonguss, Milotic, and Tentacruel, meaning it can pave the way for partners like Flygon, Incineroar, and Paldean Tauros-F. Avalugg is often a hard check to get past for Basculegion-M, but specially oriented sets are good at luring it in and dealing great damage. This can be capitalized on by physical attackers like Overqwil, Scyther, and Flygon. Faster Ghost-types such as Hisuian Typhlosion, Chandelure, and Brambleghast can be problematic for Basculegion-M, causing Ghost-resistant and -immune teammates like Incineroar, Scrafty, Porygon2, and Dudunsparce to be necessary. Powerful Grass-, Electric-, and Dark-type Pokemon like Breloom, Kilowattrel, and Incineroar can stop Basculegion-M from keeping up its Substitute, so checks to these Pokemon such as Amoonguss, Bellibolt, and Diancie make for good partners.

wouldn't bother including Ice Fang on the set. if anything, Aqua Jet is the best option for a 3rd attack

Heavy-Duty Boots should be an item slash

Tera Dark > Tera Fairy

specify Roar Vaporeon because any other variant loses very badly to you

not really sure I've seen Sub Legion + snow sweeper? they're not particularly relevant anyway and I think you have better options for Avalugg lures

qc 1/2 when done

a blue banana, here, I wanted to say that Substitute gives Basculegion-M free turns to attack, and Metronome can capitalize on that. Could you reword this to make that clearer?
