Ʊ~The Sea of Monsters~Ʊ
Hello Everybody! This is my first RMT so pardon any trespasses I may make and harshly criticize me!
So when I was initially making this team I wanted to make a team using Jellicent, because a previous team of mine got walled to the River's Styx and back. So I wanted to make my greatest weakness my greatest strength. So I took the immense whirlpool creator that is Jellicent and made what may be my very best UU team since I've started playing the game.
THE TEAM:
There really isn't a Greek Monster that matches the adorable Goodra... so I went with Landon.
I had made this team when Volcarona was still in UU on top of all the special threats Landon serves as a catch all specially defensive tank. The 8 Attack EVs were to guarantee a OHKO against non defensive Volcarona with Rock Slide, and now they're used to smack incoming Swamperts on the switch in for good damage. Draco Meteor is the go to stab that hits hard, Thunderbolt is for smacking Mega Blastoise and other bulky waters not named Suicune who can set up in Landon's face all day. And Fire Blast smacks Shaymin, Fortress and Roserade as well as Steel Types looking to switch in on a predicted Dragon Type move. On top of that it stops Raikou, Slowbro, (Special) Infernape, Psyshockless Alakazam, (Special) Lucario, Azelf, Roserade, Porygon-Z, Shaymin, Vivilon, and Starmie. All A- Rank or Higher threats. If I need someone to take a special hit this is my go to dragon.
I needed a Stealth Rocker but I wanted a more Offensive one so I went with Hectae. Rocks ensure that Victini, Honchcrow, Tornadus (sort of), Vivilon, Staraptor (at the time), Darmanitan, and Volt-Turn teams are on a timer which definitley eass the pressure off of other mons. EVs outspeed uninvested base 90s (Arcanine, Roserade, and anything slower). STAB, Sheer Force, Life Orb boosted Earth Power and Sludge Wave are disgustingly powerful on this Pokemon, 2HKOing Florges with Sludge Wave is a God(dess)send and it functions as a brilliant wallbreaker as only Blissey, Umbreon, Snorlax, Goodra and especially Bronzong can safely switch in, and I have answers to those. Ice Beam hits those pesky, Grass, Dragon, Ground, and Flying types, especially Gligar.
What's a Sea of monsters without a DemiGod in the mix? Demi, like it's namesake is used to finish everybody off.
You know what scares me? Suicune. Suicune terrifies me, my team is called the Sea of Monsters and Suicune literally tramples over water, and that is the reason this guy is on my team as opposed to Lucario or Infernape. This Guy sets up all over Crocune because that classic set can't touch it.
The speed EVs are to Outspeed non invested Rotom Heat Which can't Kill me with an uninvsted Overheat and more importantly it's for outspeeding other uninvested base 85s. Drain Punch helps with longevity and is a nice STAB option. Poison Jab is for those darn Fairy types, Florges and Aromatiesse as well as a slightly more powerful STAB and much more reliable than Gunk Shot because I usually can't afford to miss the Poison type move, Sucker Punch is for priority and mind games and Bulk Up is to start a sweep, chosen over Swords Dance because I prefer the more Bulky Approach, it also beats Swords Dance Toxicroak one on one. I need to weaken all walls before this guy comes in and especially any will-o-wisp users. But this also does a good job of stopping most Mienshao and Heracross from wrecking my team too much.
Talos is Hephestus' robot guardian. It is brutal and unrelenting and scary as all hell.
Metagross in general has fallen from grace this gen with the steel nerf and was the first psuedo legendary to join UU, and with the help of its trusty Assault Vest it's ready for action. The EV's are to out-speed any base 75s and lower as well as most other Metagross. Meteor Mash is strong STAB that also has the nifty chance to boost Talos' very nice Attack stat to greater heights. Bullet Punch is for priority which the team needed because Demi's Sucker Punch isn't all that reliable and I don't like to send him out too early anyways. Earthquake is good ol' reliable, powerful and accurate as always. The last move though... is a toss up between filler moves... Grass Knot might be the best choic to hit Donphan and Swampert on the switch but I've really no idea what to put there. This is my main Early to Midgame Fairy counter and comes in on whatever Landon can't stop and always hits hard during a match.
Now comes the two main reasons why this team is called the Sea of Monsters.
The Sea of Monsters is guarded by two beasts, one named Charybdis and the other names Scylla, one taking in all attacks with nary a flinch and the other picking off any trespassers with the powerful strikes of her serpentine dragon heads. When played together well these two can be almost unstoppable and few heroes have beaten them in Mythology.
Meet Scylla, a sailor's death. From above Scylla's heads sweep down and devour the travelers coming to close, and you have to go too close to avoid Charybdis.
Scylla is devastating, Scylla is terrifying, and that's why I love it. Life Orb for the power that Choice Scarf doesn't provide and its partner can handle most of the faster threats that scare it off. Draco Meteor to brutally murder most everything and Dark Pulse to kill the rest, especially Mew and Jirachi who make me cry and for the special walls that try to wall me (bar Florges) I have SupahPowa, which does 2HKO Umbreon, Blissey and Snorlax after rocks and leftovers. Roost helps ease the pain of Life Orb.
4 Atk Life Orb Hydreigon Superpower vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 216-255 (54.8 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Life Orb Hydreigon Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Snorlax: 333-393 (63.5 - 75%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Life Orb Hydreigon Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 426-502 (59.6 - 70.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
Scylla is the go to wall breaker on the team and I don't think I've ever had a battle where she is useless.
I'm 100% sure that Charybdis is what Gamefreak was thinking about when they created Jellicent. And it lives up to its origins most definitely.
Charybdis is my catch all wall, and even though it's fallen from grace due to knock off and the steel type nerf it is still amazing in these lower tiers. Physical defensive is the way to go as it gets great mixed bulk and running 44 speed EVs lets it outspeed a lot of other walls most notably Umbreon who it can beat one on one through a faster taunt and Will-o-wisp/Scald damage. Recover is the most important move because it takes a lot of hits, more hits than probably Goodra and Metagross combined. Charybdis puts a stop to Blissey, Infernape, Mega-Aerodactyl, some Lucario, Alomomola, Crobat, Mienshao, Sucicune, Aggron, Darmanitan, Fortress, Hippowdon, Snorlax, Toxicroak, and Arcanine, and that (Baring Arcanine) is only A- rank and above. It's in my opinion the best Catch all wall in the tier, despite the viability ranking stating otherwise.

As you can see my playstyle revolves around balance with this particular team revolving around a more offensive force. It's worked out well for me thus far though I've sort of peaked at around 1550.
Feel free to critique me all you want on both the team and the structure of the RMT.
