What you could do is just make a Heatran, set the OT to somebody else, along with the IDs, set the hometown as Sinnoh, met in Link Trade. That should look good, I'm not entirely sure though because I've never done it that way.

I use an Action Replay also so that's good. It really should be about the same, you just have to download the HeartGold/SoulSilver Pokésav, which I've heard is very similar to the Platinum one. What I recommend doing is in your HeartGold, catch 6 crap Pokémon, and have them all in your party, go on Pokésav, make a code for your 6 party Pokémon, and then they will just appear in your party. I think this is easier than spawning the Pokémon in the wild, and they will end up looking just as legitimate. Just make sure you use your Action Replay to find your SID so they will actually belong to you

I can help you with Pokésav, it is pretty hard to get used to at first. Are you using an Action Replay or R4 cartridge? What I do is I Sav all of my Pokémon in Platinum and transfer them over to HeartGold.
