  • yo pink. I've been trying to make chesnaught work in our because I like the guy and I saw that it did pretty well into kingambit, hsam, waterpon lacking play rough, and even ghold when you tera bc Shadow Ball is a bullet move so i cooked up this team but I noticed that that I'm got a hazard removal problem. I have treads but putting all the pressure of removal is not very healthy for this team but I don't know what to change on my team currently. It would be amazing if I could get some feedback form you. (PS I'm pretty bad at building teams and will probably sit at around 1400s for the rest of my life)

Hey pinkacross. I was wondering if you could rate this team. It is working pretty well on ladder, but I fell like it is missing something. The team is also weak to Willo Wisp cinderace from what I haveseen, but I don't know what to change. https://pokepast.es/b73605dcf7c59869

My main concern here is that you have no power, breaker, or way to make progress. A hazard stack team without Knock Off isn't a hazard stack team. You need to restructure and consider how you're going to make progress
    SpicyJ
Ok, thank you for the advice. I agree, I noticed the hazard stack aspect of it was not working too well.
Hello Pinkacross! I'm new to competitive Pokémon and wanted to make an OU team for the Project Bronze Forever meta based on Cinderace because I loved his Court Change move. Thus, my friend and I took inspiration from many of your teams with Cinderace, and decided to make something like this. The main idea is for Slowking to pivot into either Cinderace, Arctozolt, or Lopunny with Chilly Reception depending on the opponents move. Mega Lopunny covers Slowking's Dark and Ghost weakness, Arctozolt breaks through stalls, and Cinderace prevents hazards.

Similar to Eden, Arctozolt is like our Chien Pao. However, we couldn't find any Pokemon that could fit the role of Dondozo, a pokemon that is defensive but can also output great damage. Thus, we struggled to create a defensive core that would be able to support the team (especially support Slowking as it is the center of the pivoting). We also tested multiple variants (SpDef Tyranitar, SpDef Aegislash, SpDef Umbreon and others).
    Screenshot 2025-07-10 at 16.45.46.png

Additionally, we noticed that Cinderace paired well with Great Tusk due to its Rapid Spin move, but noticed that there aren't many bulky Rapid Spinners in our meta as shown in this image:
    Screenshot 2025-07-10 at 16.23.34.png

As most competitive people are probably not familiar with the Project Bronze Forever meta, I can redirect you to the official PBF Colosseum Discord which has a role compendium as shown above. I will also link some sample teams from this Pokemon Bronze Forever:
Thank you so much for your time! Hopefully my post works (I made my account to contact you ).

After further testing, we found that running trail blaze on Cinderace instead of Sucker Punch works extremely well, but this should come with Tapu Lele with psychic surge. We can bait water types into thinking that we would court change, but instead act offensively with good grass coverage.

Heya Pinka! Ive been a fan for a while and havent had any real success on the ladder and i wanna get better at team building since its the only thing im sort of okay at.
I would like if you could tell me any way to better my team and general team building tips!
(ive been trying to make choice spec Gholdengo work for the past week and im going crazy) :D

I'd go Leftovers on Kingambit since its your Ghost resist, and max HP on Great Tusk since trading with opposing Tusk is the main way you handle it. You also may want to remove Iron Valiant, two breakers here (Ival and Wellspring) is probably unnecessary and could be better used on another defensive pokemon.

Thanks for the advice! I'll try it out the changes once I have an opportunity to ladder!

Good evening Pink! Been a fan for a while and finally decided to ladder. I really wanna learn how to get good at teambuilding since I'm vary bad right now. I'd appreciate it if you could give me pointers on this team. P.S. I really wanna use Scizor

Hi Pink! I really thought the pivoting Raging Bolt core in your recent video was nice, so I tried making one myself. I don't know what its holes are and how to improve it anymore, so I'd love an opinion on it! Adding this to a fixing viewers teams might be cool too, so people can see how pros and noobs take a similar core/concept and how you would build around it and how I butchered it.

The problem with Weavile is that it speed ties Darkrai, meaning there's still a 50% chance you lose to NP rai if you face it. I'd recommend a scarfer, Zama, or Pult (but with a different set) as your speedy mon. One speedy mon, plus something for priority should be good here. Rilla might suit this team well, I could see Scizor or Dragonite being solid as well
    LanturnSkarmory
I decided to go with Tera Dark Roar Zama for the speedy mon slot, and as an experimental team I put in scarf trick Hoopa just for fun. As the priority slot I made a team with Dragonite and a team with Rilla. Thanks a lot Pink!! I'll put this team to good use

    My pleasure!
Could you have a look at this team? It's a Bulky Offense with CM Val and Mixed Kyurem as the breaking core with the defensive pieces that are capable of make aggressive progress themselves. After breaking mid-ladder, I felt like reached the limit of refining it on my own so I'd like a more knowledgeable opinion on whether the team can be improved further.

This seems quite well-built! I like the Kyurem set and offensive Hatterene works great here as well. I do have some concerns-- Scizor is a major threat, for example. The lack of strong priority in general worries me, relying only on Aqua Jet can get VERY dicy against Hyper Offense teams. Swords Dance Kingambit looks kinda brutal, and I could see a ton of other sweepers like Iron Moth, Dragonite, and Darkrai getting out of hand
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
The ground weakness in general is also not ideal-- you could perhaps fit a Dragonite on this team, maybe over Iron Valiant? A Silk Scarf set might be good here.
Hello, I’m a new and terrible player and even worse teambuilder, but I think I made a team that has potential at least in concept. If you have the time, I’d appreciate if you could look it over and help a little! I hit 1500 twice before tilting, which isn’t that high (skill issue or team issue I’m not sure) but I would like to note I couldn’t hit 1400 in OU with any other team. The inspiration was a rest-o-berry dnite since rest cured status and the heal could trigger multisvale again. Surprisingly worked a lot, the funny dragon is probably behind 75% of my wins. Specs bolt comes into tanky birds that dnite doesn’t like and can deal big damage or pivot. I have Delphox as a gimmickey shitmon thats (sort of) speedy. I used the :serperior: fire special speedster called Iron Moth until 1300 but stopped because I reeaallly hate that thing. I doubt the teambuilder has any room for favoritism but I don’t give two fox.

    Pastes:
    Fox
    Bug

An obvious improvement would be relegating the fox to the depths of PU where it would never see the face of scary behemoths like Glowking and Walking wake ever again, but I like the challenge and uniqueness (Look at me I’m so special!) that using the starter presents, though I’m not entirely opposed to replacing it. I’m mostly looking for help on the structure of the team and roles that each member provides. Iron defense Zama cooks me way too often. If I can’t get dragonite to punch holes in my opponents lineup, the team is unthreatening and can break apart easily. Additionally, I lack the firepower to :brute-bonnet: force past bulky compositions, stall obviously included.

Big fan of your content, thanks in advance!

My main piece of advice is to avoid mixing archetypes. Balance teams crave consistency, whereas Hyper Offense teams accept inconsistency, but stack multiple inconsistent pokemon with the expectation that at least one will end up being a high-performer. You have a Dragonite that is VERY inconsistent (either does nothing or totally wins) paired with pokemon like Alomomola and Specs Raging Bolt, which crave consistency.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'd rebuild around Dragonite, this time making sure that you're building a Hyper Offense team. The set is cool though, and I do think its viable!

Pinkacross suggesting not to use alomomola? What a day. Anyways I experimented a lot with veil yesterday and it somehow never occurred to me to use dnite under screens, so I’ll probably work with that. I like how bolt completely shut down some of dragonites checks, so I’ll make it booster. Looks like :oricorio-pom-pom: is being replaced. Got a flight to catch so no testing, thx tho
Hello, I built my first Gen 8 National Dex team, and don't know what to improve on. One thought I have is replacing Mega Lopunny with Chansey. Is it possible to get some advice?

I updated the team, I replaced Tapu Koko with Zapdos, because Zapdos hits all the weaknesses that Tapu Koko hit but with the added benefit of being able to hit Kartana and Ferrothorn. I also gave Toxapex more defense because after calculating it's threats Toxapex did not need a lot of special defense to tank the same special mons that threaten it. It also nerfs moves like psyshock(which a lot of Psychic mons are using), and helps survive easier against Kartana and Landorus-T's earthquakes. Some sets still OHKO Toxapex no matter what defense or SPD EVs you put in. For example, a +2 Earthquake from Landorus-T or Choice Specs Tapu Lele OHKOs.

I lowered the speed of Lopunny-M and Heatran a bit to adjust for speed tiers, and I put the extra EVs into defense or HP. I also gave Lopunny Fake Out and Quick Attack, though I am debating taking out Quick Attack for Encore, because a mon like Reuniclus almost solos the team if not for the Toxapex Haze into Heatran Taunt+ Magma Storm combo. I am also thinking of switching out Power-Up Punch for Close Combat or High Jump Kick, but I do like the idea of making Quick Attack stronger or making Return +1 to OHKO most mons. I hope the team is a bit better(also this is a repost, because I accidentally posted a link to a YouTube video the first time)

Hi Pinkacross, I have made a crawdaunt team, because I absolutely despise stall, but I feel like this team gets wrecked hard by iron moth(could also be a skill issue). Can you give me some advice on it?
    Pokepaste: https://pokepast.es/9f71a9ce9626c54e
I have made a forum post too if you want an explanation on why I chose a specific pokemon

    Thanks :)
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
If you MUST use Crawdaunt though, it would probably fit best on a team with more pivots. Crawdaunt struggles to get in, and it's super easy to revenge kill-- bulky pivots help with both of these things. It works particularly well with Glowking, since Glowking often brings in Gholdengo and Ting-Lu
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This team in general is very awkward and doesn't seem to have a direction. You have Defog weezing with a full team of pokemon that do quite well against hazards. You also have 3 physical walls and no special walls-- I'd rebuild honestly
    QuackingDuck
    QuackingDuck
If I really wanted to find an anti stall mon to build around, what options are there?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Not sure what the Z power of Rising Voltage is, but I'm guessing it's quite weak and probably only SLIGHTLY better than just using Rising Voltage. Magnet is probably better here. I'd also go Modest on Alolachu. This team has no Fire resist, which is a major issue. Try Slowking over Glowking.

will do thanks for the advice! :afrostar:
Given your growth as a content creator, are you still cool with people posting on your profile to get quick feedback on teams or would you rather want people to join your Discord and share the team with your community?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'm still cool with this! I check it at least every week. People also personally hit me up on Discord and ask for team rates, that's cool too. One day I might get too big to provide even quick advice, but I'm not there yet.
Granted this isn't super high ladder but here's that bee team putting in work against a 1800's player with aqua Jet alo being clutch (Ignore the crit). Also a big issue I noticed is this team gets dogged on by toxic protect Aegislash. I tried ghostium on lele but it was too situational to justify, I'm not really a teambuilder I just steal teams and grind ladder but what do you think about fini instead of lele on this team?
    https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2373028654
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I don't think that would be a good idea. Tox Tect Aegislash is extremely uncommon, and can also be handled relatively well by Alomomola and Ferrothorn
I watched your new statistics video and you teach it way better than my math teacher. I love your content, but I can't comment on your videos because of my school.
    Yo Mr Cross,
Been a sand user since gen 5 and try to build a sand team every meta and can usually hit top 20~

This gen has been cooking me. It's hard for me to build a sand team that has a defensive enough core that can also handle corv... last gen I had Zolt but he's been deleted.

    https://pokepast.es/652d13ad17d07d07

This is the best I've gotten so far, currently sitting at 1800. (Ive tried Wisp/hex pult and trick wisp rotom, but it seems I need the specs blast and tbolt damage from the two to deal with Corv). Ive tried Terra Blast variants of Exca but just didn't click it enough, and most of the time just wish I had the EQ boost.

You got any advice? It's a solid sand team, I think you should try it out. Clef and Mandi both being immune to sand feels really nice and scarf Terra electric tbolt from Rotom is an underrated win condition.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
A fairy/stee/ type does make sense in that slot. Make a list of all the things the team is weak to without Clefable, and see what fits. I could see Heatran being good, since removing Washtom for Wellspring kinda gives you problems with Fire.
    RandomBattleMeNow
Heatran is working out a lot! I've never run Heatran without stealth rocks, but on this team it puts in a ton of work. Having protect for scarf/specs Kyurem feels really nice as the team was weak to it. Additionally I've been swapping out last move between slam/flash/powergem (snipe moltres for exca) and all seem to be very strong for the team. Appreciate you!

    Np! :D
Hello Pinkacross, This is a bit random, but would you happen to know why Cinderace uses Blaze instead of Libero in this strong sample team?
https://pokepast.es/f193d007e6645393 I have just been very curious about it.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Defensive Cinderace usually prefer to keep their fire typing intact, particularly on a team like this with no immunities to Will-O-Wisp.
Hi Pinkacross, I was hoping for some teambuilding advice for this team i build around a hydrapple tinkaton core https://pokepast.es/a7d3d8dc04d22f61 i havent faced any glaring issues yet but i get the feeling something is missing but i cant quite put a finger on what
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Immediate power perhaps? I'd personally go LO Hydrapple
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This team is interesting, but definitely has some major flaws. My main concern is mixing archetypes. Ninetales and Iron Crown fit on Hyper Offense, but the rest of your team seems to be a balance. I'd recommend committing to one archetype or the other.
    blockgqme
Thanks, I just changed the HO mons for Gliscor and Gambit to go full balance and have a much better team now. It is way less quirky but way better. Your earlier assessment of major flaws is 100% correct as I would lose or win on team preview. The new and improved balence team: https://pokepast.es/5fdc8c625fb277dd
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This looks better with regards to archetype mixing. The fairy matchup is now my main concern-- you have no fairy resist and several weaknesses, anything with moonblast is a terrible matchup.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This seems like a random combination of pokemon rather than a team. It looks kind of like a hazard stack team without hazards. You could replace Hatterene for dual hazard Ting-Lu, that would help. Honestly though, I'd rebuild and consider building to Glimmora's strengths more (assuming that's what you built around).
    RoroNoDono
    RoroNoDono
I like the suprise factor it can go against tusk and kill it. Thought of Ting-Lu too so that I'll have a ghost resist.
