  • Hey, back for like the billionth time; you’ve just been such a nice help. I conveniently was getting into natdex a couple days before you started but I can’t seem to get the hang of it- I’m consistently top 150 now in gen 9 OU but I can’t maintain a steady Elo in Natdex. It is as wild as 1450 to 1700. How do I fix this?
Yo Pinka! I was throwing together all of my fav Gen 9 OU mons (Cos y'know why not), and made this complete and utter monstrosity. It's actually been working really well, and I haven't lost yet. It brought me from about 1380's to 1540's. I wanted to know: 1. what kind of archetype this would be; and 2. are there any super bad weaknesses that I can fix? https://pokepast.es/3509b90810215f5d
Hey man, i was struggling to find a new team and ended up making this frankenstein combination of things i liked about each of them. So far it felt pretty good and synergistic, but i'm not really good at teambuilding so i'd appreciate your expert opinion on it. If there's anything you think i can improve i'd love to hear it!! https://pokepast.es/69c8829c0a470972
Hello Pinkacross, there is currently an ongoing Tera suspect in NDOU and I would like to hear your thoughts on who the big winners and losers you think might be. Weavile stocks go to the moon and Iron Moth becomes completely unusable I believe. Also I believe Mega Sceptile may unironically have sauce if you want to do a building stream with it, kind of like a special Mlop.

Mega Sceptile does sound fun! Might give it a try. As for NDOU, I don't really know enough about the meta to say for sure who the winners and losers would be.
Hey Pinkacross! Heard that you were talking about hail/snow. Moves and abilities like blizzard/slush rush act the same in both weathers. Hail does damage, while snow increases the defense stat by 50%. Funnily, Eiscue's Ice Face ability is restored in both weathers. This makes for a pretty mean stall strategy to stop most physical attackers.

On that note, here's a team for you to try out.

Thanks for the information! There is no way I will ever use this lol but the fact that Eiscue can do that is really funny!

No problem. If you have any questions regarding national dex, feel free to reach out.

Not bad at all, this looks pretty solid. My main concern is your stall MU, I don't see how your team is ever going to break a stall. An Ice Beam Glowking paired with Harcanine can shut down stall pretty well though, perhaps try Glowking over Prim, then go AV Tusk and Sucker on Meow to patch up the Dragapult weakness.
    Heya, I’m back again.
First thing: I just learned today that you stream regularly, sorry I missed out!
Second thing: I actually fought you today, I was the 54 rats guy. Thanks for the fun match, didn’t even know it was you until the end.
Last thing: I’m in the top 100 now, and I’m not sure how to deal with the stress of losing the prestigious title of being top 100. Any tips with that?

I actually made a video on getting over ladder anxiety! Here it is:

Yea sub sets could be quite problematic here. Perhaps consider Treads instead of Heatran, this will help against Kyurem leads.
    Vincent727
wait do u know what type of team this would be classified as? offence?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'd call it Grassy Terrain Offense, yes.
Hi pink. I've just recently come back to the tier after a 6 month long break. I wanted to try using iron hands, and this build took me to the 1700s. My concerns is that I have no hazards (do I need them?) and I am not sure about the stall MU as I haven't run into it yet. Do you have any suggestions?

I originally had lando over tusk, but felt like hazard stack was horrible for the team with 4 spike weak mons.

Changed a couple things to cover some of the gaps. https://pokepast.es/499bc6e83e18d406

It does feel hard to fill every single hole. My only non-tera fire resist is moltres, which can't really do anything against moth. I also really wish I could fit u-turn on wogerpon, but that would leave me without any sort of knocker.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Roar Moltres is a good option if you're struggling with HO. Team looks pretty solid overall. As for Oger, you could try U-turn over Encore but yea that is a lot to give up.
Hi Pink, I have been playing Pokémon on and off for a loong time ,mostly random battles because I despise teambuilding , lately I have been trying to watch "educative" content but just don't get it , I copied this team that you made on video titled "bulky hazard setup" iirc ->https://pokepast.es/80fa1ea923e30fde
I cannot for the life of my understand what should I be doing ,more than just >
    Moldier
    Moldier
"if X type attack ,switch to Y type mon to try to be inmune or resistant " is there any videos where this specific setup or team are played ? my elo is 1099 ou, 1312 randombattles if that even matters, end of the line I keep getting sweeped by 1 -2 mons , I don't understand why no one on the team has hazard clean or unaware mons (keep getting sweeped by stat.boosted mons).
That's it , thank you for reading Pink
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Nothing on this team has removal because hazard stack teams are designed to be resilient enough to hazards that they don't need to ever remove them from the field. Given the ELO you're at, I would honestly just recommend playing more games with simpler teams and getting a better grasp on battling mechanics before trying to understand deeper strategy.
Hey Pinkacross, I was wondering if you could look at this grassy terrain team for me https://pokepast.es/e2f40574d038a4aa, it has performed really well for me, and has had not too much trouble breaking semi stall / balance teams. Thanks a lot :)
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
My main concern is your stall matchup. I can't see your team breaking stall, your Heatran will get Flip Turned on by Alomomola and nothing else even has a chance. You could try a more offensive Tera Blast Grass Heatran, but this would open your team up on the special side... perhaps AV Tusk could help patch this up.

Thanks so much! I will try. Btw, your videos have helped me a lot with OU, and have inspired me in general. Thanks!

Glad I was able to help! :D

Yea this Kyurem set is solid on pretty much any team, you can slap it on and just ruin so much

Sad that this is the tier we live in, I feel like S/V OU could be pretty solid if we just dealt with all the issues- these include Kyurem, Ogerpon-W, Gliscor, Maybe roaring moon, Maybe Darkrai, Maybe Zamazenta. From there, we could re-evaluate. Kingambit and gholdengo being ban worthy issues isn’t really a thing anymore, at least not now.

    Pinkacross
Yea sad state of affairs but it is what it is
Hi Pinka, got a question, in what scenario “except stall” is it ok to not put priority in a team, is priority necessary, cus sometimes the best speed control simply doesnt get it done, and i get swept a lot
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Priority is often necessary, some bulky balances and semistalls can go without it though, and it can sometimes work on HO / offense teams with a lot of speed
Hi pinkacross. I've been using this Ogerpon-Cornerstone team to get into 1600s-1700s elo.
    https://pokepast.es/31ceb7a59d28b031
This team is meant to enable Cornerstone to destroy teams with its STAB combination, with pivoting, status spreading, and wearing down checks. Feedback on here or on a video would be super cool. Thank you!
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Looks pretty nice, but testing on ladder will likely reveal the issues. I'd say go greedy and run Ada on Ogerpon. One structural concern I do have is the lack of removal + Ogerpon-- generally it enjoys solid removal (ie tusk / treads)
Hey I just want to say a big thanks for all the cool videos! I suck at this game >~< but your tips have allowed me to go from 1050 elo to 1150-1200 elo!
They are very helpful and super cool and I’m very happy they exist. I’ve tried to understand them all but it never really lets me get higher than 1200 but that’s ok because I’m trying my best and that’s what matters. I have no idea what else I could do to get better
    The Silly
    The Silly
Also, for the other team, I do note the lack of a dragon resist and only one piece of priority. The most common dragon move user is usually dealt with using Glowking + meow or tusk but others can cause issues. Any ideas for changes?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Maybe treads over tusk to help with Dragon situation
    The Silly
    The Silly
Good idea, I’ll maybe try a version with that
Hello Pinka! I was working on this sand offense team and wondered if there's any glaring weaknesses or important changes that need to be addressed. I used your sand streams for inspiration lol cause I really like sand teams in general

    Pinkacross
The main issue I see is Ogerpon-W... that's a pretty tough matchup, doesn't seem like you have a real switch-in. I'd recommend a more defensive Zapdos with Tera Grass, so it can survive 2 Ivy Cudgels without needing to Tera and it hardwalls if it does.
Hello, Pinkacross. I'm not a very good builder, but after iterating on a Banded Roaring Moon team, I ended up with a very serviceable team, one that I use in conjunction with other teams made by creators like yourself. I was hoping you could take a look at it and tell me how it could be improved. Thank you. https://pokepast.es/dfccefe7f31012a3
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'd go Jolly Meow for DD RM. Not a fan of LO Rai here either, I'd go Ebelt or Glasses. You also need hazards, go Lefties over AV on treads and SR over Iron Head
hey, due to the recent gouging fire ban i wanted to try to build around entei in sun as a stallbreaker, any thoughts about it? testing it it seems pretty weak against mons like pex and pult but ive been having fun w it

    https://pokepast.es/13bbe22f6b063aef
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Looks pretty nice, I'd go Espeed over Overheat though, especially with Inner Focus your attack won't be dropped too often
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Timid on Venu as well, that speed tier is important
Hey pinka! can i have a hand on this team right here? https://pokepast.es/e932284d634c72e6 threw something around webs + tera flying scizor and it feels okay-ish? sixth slot is pretty undecided rn. also it kinda misses any reliable immediate power, with no choice users around, things just feel out of place but i don't grasp exactly what i could do. thanks in advance!
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
None of these pokemon really abuse Webs, ribombee feels out of place-- try these mons on non-webs
Hey, just saw your Ban Kyurem video on youtube, mind if you pass over the team with the BoltBeam Kyurem so I can use it while it lasts?
