  • Hey Pinkacross, I was wondering I can get some help with a team :https://pokepast.es/734616b3f8f65f55. I think the offensive core of Scizor + Volcanion + Moon feels pretty good, with tusk as my glue. Gholdengo + Dragonite feel a bit iffy, and my stall matchup feels a little less comfortable in game. If you can help me with Drag + Ghold, I would appreciate it immensely!

Hmm yes I can see why you'd be having problems with stall. I'd try booster energy speed on Tusk, go Loaded Dice on Dragonite, Encore DD Scale Shot Fire Punch (this will help the stall MU), go roost over Earthquake on Roaring Moon and run an Adamant bulky set (EV to outspeed Tusk), and you also may want to consider Ogerpon-Wellspring over Volcanion, this will definitely improve the stall MU as well.

Thanks so much! I will definitely try these new sets out
Hey Pinka I wanted to make a team for blaziken and cooked this team up
    https://pokepast.es/84c3971a6c792a98

It includes g-weezing for guaranteed hazard removal glowking for slow pivot dragapult as fast pivot, great tusk for secondary hazard removal and blaziken and kingambit as dedicated sweepers
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I think this is a case of archetype mismatch-- Blaziken is a very unreliable sweeper, and it's in the middle of a balance team here, which appreciates consistency. I think Blaziken would be best on a different, more offensive archetype.

Okk so Ifor blaziken I'll make a classic glimmora lead ho team. Btw Could hawlucha work in ou as a more offensive defogger who ignores gholdengoh's good as gold
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I would not recommend Defog Hawlucha with Mold Breaker. I haven't personally tried it, but I've had it used against me, and it seems pretty bad. I'll give it a go at some point, probably.
Oh hey, Pinkacross, I’ve been trying Natdex lately. Any tips for team building in it? I’ve been really really trying to make MGard + Lele work (MGard gets expanding force!) but I’m sort of stuck at 1600 elo with it (I’m aiming for at minimum 1700, hopefully top 100)

One last thing: do you enjoy the tier, and do you like its ladder? Anything you’d change? Been wanting to improve both my OU and Natdex game more lately as I got promoted to Voice in the OU room today.

I would advise against Terrain Extender-- if you use that item, you've already lost. I'd recommend Choice Scarf, otherwise it'll do the exact same thing as Gardevoir, which probably isn't sustainable in such a volatile tier as NatDex.

As for the tier in general, I like NatDex, not a huge fan of SV OU though.
Hi Pinkacross! Recently started playing Gen 9 OU again (Think my last game was before the kyurem ban/unban) and tried to revive my old Choice Band Hoopa Balance team but with the standard Hoopa-U AV and settled on 2 structures:

    Team 1: https://pokepast.es/09e35e21c62c98fa
    Team 2: https://pokepast.es/ea038910b9f21c7e

Any thoughts on which seems better and improvements?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I prefer the Glowking version. You maybe could probably go Choice Band on Hoopa here.

Hi pink! I threw this team together, and I am wondering what your thoughts are on it.

its webs HO with iron moth, enamorous, and lokix as the main offensive core
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Hello! As much as I like Lokix, it doesn't make much sense on Sticky Web-- it's the exact opposite type of team that needs a Lokix. I think you'd be better served by Roaring Moon or Kingambit here.

hey pink! been running this on low/mid ladder and its been getting some success..

not gonna talk about everything but the cliffnotes are
    max/max sinistcha walls ogerw/tusk,
spdef gliscor for spikes/helps with moth/val
    wallbreaker val with tera fairy

i had dragapult in the last slot, but realized corv was screwing me over so i swapped it with molt
    any thoughts? tyty

    iinteresting interesting...
what would be your recommendation for speed evs then? smogon recommends some decent investment but i cant imagine what it wants to outspeed when i can instead run max/max bold for true bulk. plus it would help more against bp corv.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'd say max HP bold, but hit 200 speed for Kingambit (or 219 if you REALLY want to outspeed Gambit).
    wimblewomp
    wimblewomp
    sounds good. thank you!!
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This team has a ton of speed but lacks power. Suicide lead Deo-S also isn't ideal for balance. Honestly I'm not sure what you're going for here, I'd recommend rebuilding and make sure you stick to one archetype.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
At the moment you've got a mix of HO and balance.
https://pokepast.es/30461f617c144c06 hey pink, been experimenting with harcenine webs recently and made some changes, meow is now boots, I felt like Harc wasn’t doing enoguh damage so it’s banded now, and I replaced zapdos with a life orb Latios that id able to clean up. My main problem is inability to break fat teams with mons like blissey or dondozo
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
If by viable, you mean would it do decently at a top level, the answer is no. It will probably destroy fat teams though.
    Nivzy
    Nivzy
Alright thank you, what should i change?/get rid of/switch
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Honestly, pretty much the entire thing. It seems to lack any structure. Not sure what the goal or vision is here.
hi pinkacross, i made a team around av basculegion-f https://pokepast.es/6f24cf2ca8a6fe20 and wanted to know what u think about it. I find myself getting good results but lose too frequently to set up sweepers with tera fairy. I thought about using roar instead of dtail but it's not a concrete solution imo
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
If you do want to keep it, adding Encore to Ival and swapping to an Encore Knock CC Moonblast set would help with setup.
    Karyyy
The reason why i use basculegion is probably surprise factor as it did its job pretty well and people dont expect much from it.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I don't think that will work at a high level. Basculegion does pretty much one thing, click adaptability surf and shadow ball. I don't think any aware player will be surprised. You may want to find a different choice for a breaker.
https://pokepast.es/b1e81700179f6bb3 hey pink, made this edit of the harcenine webs team and wanted to know what u think, replaced hammurot for wellspring because i wanted a way to hit water types and replaced enamorus because once hammurot was gone oi needed a dark resist, and i alr had a fairy type.
    ScizorDaGoat
What would u think would be a good slot. After playing some ladder games, what id like in this new pokemon is somethign that can outspeed dragapult, special attacker ghost resist/immunity and if possible flying type/levitate
    ScizorDaGoat
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Running Scarf Meow on webs feels like a bit of a waste... I'm not big on Specs Zapdos here either
Hi Pinkacross, hope all's going well
I had this idea cuz my friend asked me to help her build an Amoonguss team
It's a bit unoptimized probably but it seems like a decent proof of concept
    https://pokepast.es/e4ae99748f9dc304
What are your thoughts on it?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Not bad! My main concern is lack of immediate power and inability to break. You're never going to beat a stall team with this, for example. Some sweepers like Iron Moth and Roaring Moon are also big threats. I'd recommend fitting a real breaker onto the team, one that CAN break stall long-term with the support of the regen core.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Hoopa-U and Cornerstone come to mind, those might work well here-- Cornerstone sturdy also helps with your HO problem
Aye Pink, what's good? I'm about to come back to SV OU, and I wanted to start by seeing how I can improve this team. I don't really struggle much with stall, but I do have a bit of a rougher time trying to get Kyurem in on gliscor. Any ideas?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Yea this team definitely has a Gliscor issue-- a physdef Glowking with Ice Beam would help for sure.
    GoTELuckyCharms
    GoTELuckyCharms
    Bet, thanks boss
I want to team build an offence team with a glowking+CB hoppa unbound core can you please give me some ideas about teammates and threats i should consider
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Honestly it's been a WHILE since I've built in gen 8. Ferro here gives you a spiker, or allows you to run SR and a super annoying Clef set (Twave Knock Moonblast Softboiled) so that's pretty good! Probably a good change.
    PopAPert
    PopAPert
I initially had SR on Tran and ran the annoying Clef set, but I switched out Twave for SR and then gave Tran Toxic

Running Rocks on Ferro will give me best of both options, thanks for the quick response!
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
    Np! :]
Hey pink, I made this team cantered around using sticky web combined with coalossal. It may not sen like a good Pokémon, but its signature ability steam engine boosts its speed to max every time it gets hit with a fire or water move. We can fix its 80 special attack by giving it power herb meteor beam.
