  • I tried to play around with making a Hoodra rain team after the Hoodra stream; at first i was just taking old archaludon team and putting goodra on it but I experimented with Slither Wing for Ogerpon and it worked pretty well. https://pokepast.es/35e4ee6864f1870a

    This team is interesting, but definitely has some major flaws. My main concern is mixing archetypes. Ninetales and Iron Crown fit on Hyper Offense, but the rest of your team seems to be a balance. I'd recommend committing to one archetype or the other.

    Thanks, I just changed the HO mons for Gliscor and Gambit to go full balance and have a much better team now. It is way less quirky but way better.     This seems like a random combination of pokemon rather than a team. It looks kind of like a hazard stack team without hazards. You could replace Hatterene for dual hazard Ting-Lu, that would help. Honestly though, I'd rebuild and consider building to Glimmora's strengths more (assuming that's what you built around).

    I like the suprise factor it can go against tusk and kill it. Thought of Ting-Lu too so that I'll have a ghost resist.

    I built a team around roaring moon planning to add my roaring moon set from a paste at the end, but i tried and it's banned. :( I guess i'm back to swagger mirror herb graffaiai

    Hi Pink wanted to ask for team building advice on this team https://pokepast.es/3d0dd6279cf68800. The original idea of the team is to build around belly drum, magmar ive found to be the most effective belly drummer as it has decent speed, it matches well into staples, and priority mach punch is nice. I'm completely fine with getting rid of magmar, I just want another belly drummer to replace it if I do.

    Honestly, if you want to use a Belly Drum pokemon, I'd go Charizard over Magmar. The rest of the team seems like pretty standard, but effective screens. If you want to make the team as strong as possible, I'd personally get rid of the Belly Drum component.

    Given you want to keep 4 of the pokemon, I can't really do much here. I think it's not very good, but Iron Crown + Landorus is probably best for the last 2.

    Honestly I'm not sure what you're going for here. I suppose if I was forced to use these pokemon, I'd go HDB wisphex pult, helmet kommo-o, and specs bolt.

    I am not sure as to who to get rid of or what to change, tried a bunch of different versions to middling or negative success. The mon I worked around was originally weavile.

    I don't think these are great sticky web abusers. To justify Sticky Web, you really need to make sure you use your slots well. I would say that none of these pokemon fit well, except Dragonite.

    Not bad, but it has some issues. Nothing for Kyurem is not ideal. No immediate power also. I'd go Specs on Rbolt and AV on Glowking.

    Lack of priority worries me too. Roaring Moon could probably sweep the team entirely. Perhaps Raging Bolt needs to be replaced for something like Dragonite.

    Hello Pinkacross, do you think Mimikyu would be viable in Gen 9 OU? I noticed that many Fairy Type switch-ins like Gholdengo, Iron Crown, Pecharunt & Slowking-Galar are weak to Ghost

    I suspect that Mimikyu is on the borderline of viability. I'd say you could probably make it work, yes.
    Yo Mr Cross. I got a challenge for you. Ive been laddering with this BellyDrum SlowbroG squad that has peaked 1700s and seems to stall around 1650-1700.
    I know my boy slowbroG isn't optimal but I was wondering if there were ways to improve it without removing bellydrum slowbro G.

    Honestly the best way to improve screens teams is just to test a bunch of sweepers and see what works. You could give Roaring Moon a try.

I think the offensive core of Scizor + Volcanion + Moon feels pretty good, with tusk as my glue. Gholdengo + Dragonite feel a bit iffy, and my stall matchup feels a little less comfortable in game. If you can help me with Drag + Ghold, I would appreciate it immensely!

    Hmm yes I can see why you'd be having problems with stall. I'd try booster energy speed on Tusk, go Loaded Dice on Dragonite, Encore DD Scale Shot Fire Punch (this will help the stall MU), go roost over Earthquake on Roaring Moon and run an Adamant bulky set (EV to outspeed Tusk), and you also may want to consider Ogerpon-Wellspring over Volcanion, this will definitely improve the stall MU as well.

    It includes g-weezing for guaranteed hazard removal glowking for slow pivot dragapult as fast pivot, great tusk for secondary hazard removal and blaziken and kingambit as dedicated sweepers

    I think this is a case of archetype mismatch-- Blaziken is a very unreliable sweeper, and it's in the middle of a balance team here, which appreciates consistency. I think Blaziken would be best on a different, more offensive archetype.

    Okk so Ifor blaziken I'll make a classic glimmora lead ho team. Btw Could hawlucha work in ou as a more offensive defogger who ignores gholdengoh's good as gold

    I would not recommend Defog Hawlucha with Mold Breaker. I haven't personally tried it, but I've had it used against me, and it seems pretty bad. I'll give it a go at some point, probably.

    Oh hey, Pinkacross, I’ve been trying Natdex lately. Any tips for team building in it? I’ve been really really trying to make MGard + Lele work (MGard gets expanding force!) but I’m sort of stuck at 1600 elo with it (I’m aiming for at minimum 1700, hopefully top 100)

    One last thing: do you enjoy the tier, and do you like its ladder? Anything you’d change? Been wanting to improve both my OU and Natdex game more lately as I got promoted to Voice in the OU room today.

    I would advise against Terrain Extender-- if you use that item, you've already lost. I'd recommend Choice Scarf, otherwise it'll do the exact same thing as Gardevoir, which probably isn't sustainable in such a volatile tier as NatDex.

    As for the tier in general, I like NatDex, not a huge fan of SV OU though.

    Hi Pinkacross! Recently started playing Gen 9 OU again (Think my last game was before the kyurem ban/unban) and tried to revive my old Choice Band Hoopa Balance team but with the standard Hoopa-U AV and settled on 2 structures:

    Hello! As much as I like Lokix, it doesn't make much sense on Sticky Web-- it's the exact opposite type of team that needs a Lokix. I think you'd be better served by Roaring Moon or Kingambit here.
