Overview
Poison
Crobat provides entry hazard removal while also providing a key Ground immunity, allowing Poison teams to take on powerful and threatening Ground-types like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Landorus, making it a great utility Pokemon for Poison. Its high Speed allows it to work as a great fast pivot by chipping foes with U-turn and switching into teammates like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Crobat also has access to Taunt, which can help prevent opposing walls from healing, setup sweepers from setting up, and utility Pokemon from setting hazards. Crobat's mediocre bulk limits its ability to switch in on attacks and hazards continuously throughout the battle and forces it to switch out to defensive teammates frequently, which limits its opportunities to use Roost and Defog. Although its Flying typing provides an important Ground immunity, it also comes with a weakness to Rock-, Ice-, and Electric-type moves, all of which are extremely common coverage and a weakness to Stealth Rock, which limits Crobat's ability to switch in and Defog throughout a battle. Crobat's mediocre Attack also prevents it from doing any notable damage to most defensive Pokemon, as they can easily recover any damage taken.

Moves
Defog allows Crobat to remove entry hazards for its teammates, allowing defensive teammates to stay healthy and continuously switch in throughout a battle. Roost is very important for Crobat, allowing it to maintain high HP through the course of a battle. Brave Bird is Crobat's primary STAB attack that provides decent damage against unresisted foes as well as against key threats such as Mega Pinsir and Mega Gallade. U-turn allows Crobat to act as a fast pivot, enabling it to provide small chip damage to a foe while bringing in a teammate that can handle the opposing Pokemon. Taunt is an option over U-turn in order to prevent opposing walls such as Chansey from recovering, as well as prevent utility Pokemon such as Klefki and Mantine from setting hazards, using Defog, and using other non-attacking moves.
Set Details
192 Speed EVs along with a Jolly nature allow Crobat to outspeed important threats to the team such as Greninja and Alakazam. 252 HP EVs and 64 Defense EVs maximize Crobat's bulk. Black Sludge gives Crobat passive recovery, granting it more longevity throughout a battle. Infiltrator allows Crobat to bypass Substitute against users such as Mega Gyarados as well as bypass Reflect to more readily attack foes such Mega Gallade in the Psychic matchup.
Usage Tips
Switch Crobat in on opposing entry hazard setters such as Hippowdon and Swampert so that it can immediately remove the hazards and then pivot out with U-turn. Take advantage of Crobat's Ground immunity to switch in on Ground-type attackers like Excadrill and Landorus. Try to maintain Crobat's HP as much as possible with Roost so that it can continuously switch in on hazards and remove them. Keep momentum up in a battle by utilizing U-turn to chip down foes while switching out to a teammate that can handle the opposing Pokemon. However, be careful not to use U-turn too hastily if Crobat's HP is getting low, as it requires high HP to continuously remove hazards throughout a battle. Use Taunt liberally to shut down passive utility Pokemon and walls such as Chansey and Clefable to keep them from setting hazards and recovering HP. Be wary of switching in on opposing Pokemon looking to use Thunder Wave or Will-O-Wisp, as paralysis inhibits Crobat's ability to outspeed and quickly pivot, and burn minimizes the damage it can do to foes while slowly reducing its HP.
Team Options
All of Crobat's potential teammates immensely appreciate Crobat's immunity to Ground and ability to remove entry hazards. Mega Venusaur is a great defensive partner for Crobat, as it is able to take on Electric-types for Crobat as well as provide passive recovery for Crobat as it switches in using Leech Seed. Mega Venusaur also pairs especially well with Crobat because, when combined, they can take on most threatening Ground-types. Alolan Muk has a very important Psychic immunity as well as great Special Defense; it serves as a great partner for Crobat in order to Pursuit trap and eliminate threatening Psychic-types that Crobat cannot handle, such as Alolan Raichu and Latios. Crobat pairs well with Toxapex, as Toxapex is able to set Toxic Spikes, and Crobat can prevent foes from effectively removing them thanks to Taunt. Additionally, Toxapex provides a very important Ice resistance and high Defense, freely switching in on Pokemon that threaten Crobat such as Weavile and Terrakion. Nihilego is a very effective revenge killer that can take on faster threats to Crobat such as Tapu Koko, Choice Scarf Victini, and Mega Aerodactyl, most notably helping out with the Flying matchup. Nidoking and Nidoqueen are both able to set Stealth Rock, which chips down foes throughout the battle, working well with Crobat's ability to pivot. They are also able to take on Electric-, Steel-, and Rock-types that Crobat cannot threaten such as Zapdos, Celesteela, and Nihilego. Gengar is another revenge killer that is able to take on threats to Crobat such as Jirachi and Slowbro, and it can also form a hazard-maintaining core with Crobat, as Crobat can prevent Defog with Taunt and Gengar can spinblock.
Other Options
Poison
Crobat could use Rocky Helmet instead of Black Sludge to punish physical attackers that make contact; however, Crobat loses out on passive recovery from Black Sludge, limiting its longevity throughout a battle.
Checks and Counters
Poison
Revenge Killers and Setup Sweepers: Fast revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Victini and setup sweepers like Porygon-Z easily outspeed and KO Crobat due to its mediocre defenses.
Super Effective Attackers: Common Rock- and Electric-types like Mega Diancie and Tapu Koko resist Crobat's Brave Bird and KO it with their powerful STAB attacks. Additionally, common Ice-types like Kyurem-B take little damage from Crobat and OHKO it in return.
Steel-types: Steel-types such as Excadrill and Celesteela resist Crobat's two commonly run attacks and fire back with powerful moves, forcing it to switch out to one of its teammates.
Paralysis: Paralysis inhibits Crobat's ability to function as a fast pivot as well as its ability to consistently outspeed foes in order to best utilize Roost and Defog.
