Red/Blue

The R/B generation began in 1998 following the North American release of Pokémon Red and Blue. It introduced the original 151 Pokémon. The game mechanics of R/B are vastly different than later generations; detailed information is available in the R/B differences article. R/B is played online on the simulator NetBattle.
