[SET]
Desolate Land (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Weather Ball
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
[SET COMMENTS]
Due to its solid offenses and access to U-turn and Stealth Rock, Landorus-T functions as a mixed attacker, decent pivot, and entry hazard setter. Weather Ball + Desolate Land provides Landorus-T a way to hit physically defensive Pokemon such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Fluffy Mandibuzz. With U-turn, Landorus-T can switch out of bad matchups against the likes of Dragonite, Well-Baked Body Skarmory, and Primordial Sea Zapdos and bring in Pokemon like Azelf, Iron Hands, and Iron Boulder to check them. Thanks to Desolate Land, Landorus-T is able to successfully wall Empoleon, Barraskewda, and non-Ice Beam Swampert, as well as prevent them from pivoting. Landorus-T helps strong physical attackers such as Roaring Moon and Zamazenta, since they have some trouble breaking through physically defensive Pokemon like Corviknight and Fluffy Mandibuzz. Landorus-T also helps special attackers such as Walking Wake and Latios that have difficulty breaking through specially defensive Pokemon like Hisuian Goodra and Empoleon, which also don't like the hazard chip damage it provides. However, Landorus-T struggles against Dragonite and Well-Baked Body Pokemon such as Skarmory and Chesnaught; Corviknight and Deoxys-D can be used to check Dragonite, while Zapdos and Primarina are options for beating Skarmory and Chesnaught. Landorus-T also tends to struggle against mixed walls such as Manaphy and Ting-Lu; therefore, Iron Hands and Hisuian Electrode make for good partners.
