Specially defensive Garchomp is one of the tier's best Stealth Rock setters due to its great bulk and ability to punish common Defoggers like Zapdos and Tornadus-T with Toxic. Protect is useful for not only helping Garchomp regenerate its health with Leftovers but also scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Dragapult, stalling out weather and terrain turns, and gaining more free chip damage from burn and Toxic. Fire Blast gives Garchomp the ability to pressure some of its common annoyances, mainly Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory. This EV spread allows Garchomp to outspeed Adamant Bisharp, Modest Volcanion, and Jolly Tyranitar and puts the remaining investment in HP and Special Defense, letting it survive +2 Tapu Koko's Dazzling Gleam, Modest Choice Scarf Tapu Lele's Moonblast, and Choice Band Urshifu-R's Close Combat after Spikes. Leftovers gives Garchomp important longevity, allowing it to recover its health throughout the game and helping reduce the amount of chip damage it takes from entry hazards and Heatran's Magma Storm, which it often switches into as one of Heatran's best checks.

Team Options
========

Garchomp fits best on bulky offense teams that love its entry hazard setting capabilities and defensive profile. Knock Off users such as Kartana, Zeraora, and Weavile complement Garchomp well, with Kartana baiting in Flying-types and removing their Heavy-Duty Boots to make them vulnerable to Stealth Rock damage and the last two taking down some of Garchomp's checks, with Zeraora handling Tapu Fini and Tornadus-T and Weavile shutting down Landorus-T. Defensive partners such as Corviknight and Slowbro match well with Garchomp to create a strong defensive core; they appreciate Garchomp's ability to take on threats like Heatran and Zapdos for them while they handle the likes of Melmetal and Urshifu-R. Corviknight also comes equipped with the ability to take on Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon that Garchomp hates like Tapu Lele and Weavile, making for an excellent teammate. Rillaboom has fantastic synergy with Garchomp, as it can also remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Flying-types like Zapdos and Tornadus-T with Knock Off, forcing them to take Stealth Rock damage. Though Rillaboom does weaken Garchomp's Earthquake via Grassy Terrain, the additional recovery helps Garchomp be much more resilient by using Protect to recover significant amounts of HP when Grassy Terrain is active. This also preserves Garchomp's recovery if its Leftovers have been removed by Pokemon like Zeraora and Tornadus-T via Knock Off, making Rillaboom a unique and powerful partner.

Garchomp is able to function as one of the tier's best Stealth Rock setters due to its great bulk and ability to punish common Defog options like Zapdos, Mandibuzz and Tornadus-T with Toxic (Mandibuzz is very much a CG relic). Protect is useful for not only helping Garchomp generate more of its health back with Leftovers but also for scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Kartana Dragapult (you really do not want to stay in on Kartana, especially when one of its best sets is SD). Fire Blast gives you Garchomp (avoid writing in first/second-person) the ability to pressure some of Garchomp'its common annoyances, mainly Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory. This EV spread allows you Garchomp to outspeed Adamant Bisharp, Modest Volcanion, and Jolly Tyranitar specially defensive Landorus-T while maximiszing (Smogon unfortunately employs American English for its writing :psysad:) your bulk to survive Tapu Koko's Dazzling Gleam at +2, Modest Choice Scarf Tapu Lele's Moonblast and Choice Band Urshifu-R's Close Combat after Spikes. Leftovers gives Garchomp important longevity, allowing it to recover its health throughout the game while shrugging off hits, helping reduce the amount of chip damage it takes from entry hazards and Heatran's Magma Storm, which it often switches into as one of Heatran's best checks.

Garchomp fits best on bulky offense teams that love its hazard setting capabilities and defensive profile. Knock Off users such as Kartana, Zeraora and Weavile compliement (common mistake so it's no big deal, but please take note of it) Garchomp well, with Kartana being able to bait in Flying-types and remove their Heavy-Duty Boots to make them weak vulnerable to Stealth Rock damage, and the latter two being able to take down some of Garchomp's checks such as Tapu Fini, Tornadus-T and Landorus-T (you need to specify which threatens which because Landorus-T stonewalls Zeraora while Tapu Fini shuts down Weavile) while still being great at item disruption removal. Defensive partners such as Corviknight and Slowbro match well with Garchomp to create a strong defensive core who appreciate Garchomp's ability to take on threats like Heatran and Magnezone (I think Zapdos is better since Magnezone can often run Air Balloon, which walls non-Fire Blast variants of this set) for it while they handle the likes of Melmetal, Weavile and Urshifu-R. Corviknight also comes equipped with the ability to take on Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon that Garchomp hates (such as? I also don't think there's a Dragon-type that fits this description, just mention Fairy-types), making for an excellent teammate. Offensive teammates that love Garchomp's Stealth Rock-setting abilities such as Weavile, Tapu Koko, and Rillaboom synergize well with it, though (already mentioned Weavile + Rillaboom deserves a special mention here due to Grassy Terrain recovery and it being able to approximate what Kartana does for Garchomp with Knock Off, I would recommend rewriting this section) Rillaboom does weaken Garchomp's Earthquake due to setting Grassy Terrain, but trades it off for can compensate for it with additional recovery, so players must take note of this (think you should write about how crazy the recovery is when combined with Protect).

you could specify the set here i think Garchomp is one of the tier's best Stealth Rock setters due to its great bulk and ability to punish common Defog options like Zapdos and Tornadus-T with Toxic. Protect is useful for not only helping Garchomp generate more of its health back with Leftovers but also for scouting Choice-locked Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Dragapult weather (and rarely terrain) + burns + toxic damage should probably be mentioned here. Fire Blast gives Garchomp the ability to pressure some of its common annoyances, mainly Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory. This EV spread allows Garchomp to outspeed Adamant Bisharp, Modest Volcanion, and Jolly Tyranitar while maximizing special? bulk to i dont like this way of phrasing it i would say more like 'and putting the rest in hp and spd which allows it to..' survive Tapu Koko's Dazzling Gleam at +2, Modest Choice Scarf Tapu Lele's Moonblast and Choice Band Urshifu-R's Close Combat after Spikes. Leftovers gives Garchomp important longevity, allowing it to recover its health throughout the game while shrugging off hits, helping reduce the amount of chip damage it takes from entry hazards and Heatran's Magma Storm, which it often switches into as one of Heatran's best checks.
