Revavroom
Type - Steel
/ Poison

Ability - Overcoat / Filter

Notable Moves
Physical -
Gunk Shot, Iron Head, Poison Jab, Spin Out, Zen Headbutt
Special - N/A
Status - Shift Gear, Taunt

Spin Out
100 BP | 100% ACC | 8PP
Lowers user's Speed by 2 stages.

Pros
- Access to Shift Gear lets Revavroom act as a physically attacking sweeper / cleaner
- Solid defensive typing that gives it a whopping 9 resistances and 1 immunity, which, alongside Filter, gives it solid defensive utility
- The typing grants it a quadruple resistance to Fairy as well as two STABs that hit Fairy super effectively, making it a solid Fairy-type answer

Cons
- Revavroom's STABs are walled by opposing Steel-types, making it much harder to get consistent value out of Revavroom considering the defensive ubiquity of Steel-types
- Mediocre Special Defense means that it can tend to be awkward in terms of checking special attackers
- Quadruple Ground weakness is absolutely miserable even with Filter to only make it a tripe weakness

Tera Potential
- Flying allows Revavroom to bypass its quadruple weakness to Ground, although not helping in hitting Steel-types
- Ground lets Revavroom shed its Fire and Ground weaknesses while also being able to hit the majority of Steel-types, although it does gain weaknesses to common types like Water and Grass
- Either STAB typing can work as a tera type, with Steel only having a regular Ground weakness and Poison boasting a Fighting resistance. However, these can open up major defensive flaws, such as a Fighting weakness for the former and Poison

Sets

Shift Gear
Revavroom @ Life Orb
Ability: Filter
Tera Type: Ground / Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shift Gear
- Spin Out / Iron Head
- Gunk Shot / Poison Jab
- Tera Blast / Taunt

Good Attack, good defensive typing, and decent enough Speed means that Revavroom can make for a pretty intimidating sweeper set. There isn't much to it, Tera types are explained in the tera potential section. Taunt can be useful for dissuading entry hazards as well as stopping other utility moves (Thunder Wave, set-up moves, etc.).

Everytime I think about using this mon I just wonder why they made spin out such a terrible move

Revaroom even though it has a amazing set up move in Shift Gear has great challenges when trying to break through the opponents team. It will almost always be walled by something whatever it runs and Spin out cancels most speed boost it will have acquired. It does have ways of beating its most common checks with Water/Fjre Tera and Magnet Rise though. Its not a bad pokemon but it's movepool holds it back.
