The Partners in Crime Leaders have decided to suspect Ally Switch.

Reasoning:

Ally Switch is considered a rather "scummy move" due to its ability to instantly swap both players around in a match, causing trip ups that easily benefit the user of the move. Due to the move sharing mechanic of Partners in Crime, it was justifiably banned as since there was another 50/50 at play, which user is going to use it. However in Gen 9, it got nerfed slightly, since now it has a chance to fail on consecutive uses. Furthermore, the list of viably ally switch users have reduced dramatically, which the best abuser is Armarouge, whom already has Indeedee-F for redirection support. Furthermore, while Ally Switch might give the abuser of the move the advantage, the Partners in Crime leaders have enacted a new mechanic that will allow both users to abuse Ally Switch to their hearts content, so that way the metagame is equal.

Information:
  • Reading this is mandatory to participate in the suspect test. The voting requirements are a minimum GXE of 77 with at least 25 games played.
  • Ally Switch will be allowed on the ladder during the suspect.
  • This suspect test will be held on a separate suspect ladder. It will read as [Gen 9] Partners in Crime (suspect). Since this will be on a new ladder, a prefix is not needed.
  • The suspect test will last two weeks on Thursday, April 13th, 2023 (11:59 pm EDT / GMT-4).
  • Upon meeting the requirements to vote, post the proof in this thread. Feel free to also use this thread as a means to discuss whether you believe the two should be banned or not.
  • It is mandatory to provide proof of ownership of the alt account as well. (Post a picture of your reqs with your smogon name featured).

Have fun laddering and April Fools!
