Pros:
  • Haha! No! Decent abilities as Prankster & Tinted Lens.
  • Has some good utility moves paired with Prankster.

Cons:
  • Using Illumise Outclassed by nearly every mon in the game.
  • Horrible stats for even being usable.
  • Terrible tera user (a great tera & team slot waster).

Tera Potential:
  • Why Would You?
  • Water tera can be used to flip its Fire & Rock weaknesses.
  • Steel tera can be used as a much more defensive type, being great against Rocks.

Sets:

Weather Setter (Illumise) @ Heat Rock / Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Water / Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed / Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Sunny Day / Rain Dance
- U-turn
- Encore / Tailwind / Wish
- Thunder Wave / Roost / Moonlight

If for some reason you decide not to use Torkoal, Pelipper, Ninetales, or any other weather setter, you may use Illumise for that. Just set the weather & slow pivot. It can also use speed controls such as Tailwind or TWave, or Wish / Encore utility. It may also use self-healing moves for longevity.

Overall Thoughts:

Illumise is definitely trash, even when considered PU standards. All it can do is cheese someone unexpectedly with meme sets, or act as a weather setting disguise. Maybe someday, it gets an evolution & becomes decent in LC, who knows?

What's extra sad is that even Volbeat performs its role as a manual weather setter better due to its slightly higher attacking stat for U-turn.

Also IMO if you're using either mon I would consider Roost on it so you can more easily set up weather more than once per game.
