After some discussion in the viability ranking thread, Cloyster dropped to C+ among the other spike leads. I wanted to build around the mon as it seemed like fun to build / play with. After a bit of time I came up with a solid mix to support cloyster that I am quite happy with.
Enjoy my first "real rmt"
Team Building:
091.png

I wanted to build around a unique mon so as stated above I chose cloyster. Cloyster can get up tspikes to really pressure teams.

719-mega.png

Diancie is a good teammate in the way of anti-leading the two things that beat Cloyster, Darkrai and Mega-Sableye. Also provides a flying/dark resist with hazard control.

383-p.png

Almost no team is complete w/o the beast that is Primal-Groudon.Primal Groudon was chosen because it can just compresses so many roles into one mon. Much needed xern/ogre check and is the most reliable sr setter in the tier. It also has a great offensive presence and can burn common flying / levitating mons that don't care about tspikes.

I added Mewtwo next for a strong special attacker that pressures support Arceus with taunt.

Giratina-Orgin helps absorb extreme-speed and rapid spin for Cloyster and blanket checks almost all physical attackers and help check Arceus-Ghost and Mewtwo.

Arceus helps check offensive threats such as Xerneas and provides a win condition for the team.

kickdowndoorsforya (Cloyster) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
Icicle Spear / Toxic Spikes / Rapid Spin / Shell Smash

Cloyster is the pokemon this team is built around. Cloyster is one of the most offensively-oriented entry hazard controllers in the tier and requires prediction and very aggressive play in order to keep the field free of entry hazards. Cloyster can pressure opposing defoggers with the combination of Shell Smash and Icicle Spear. Cloyster can beat common leads in the Deoxys-forms and Mega Diancie, OHKOing after a shell smash. There is not much variety with Cloyster but Explosion is another option to deal damage to ice resists after a smash.

kickflowsforya (Diancie-Mega) @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
Moonblast / Protect / Diamond Storm / Earth Power
Diancie was one of the new mega evolution thrown into the Ubers metagame with ORAS. A defensive powerhouse turned into an offensive one with 160 offensive stats coupled with a decent 110 speed tier. Most of all it gained an amazing ability in Magic Bounce, making it a great teammate with Cloyster providing hazard support and checking the anti-leads to Cloyster in Darkrai and Mega-Sableye. Moonblast is hard hitting stab, along with Diamond Storm for the gen 2 birds, Lugia and Ho-Oh while Earth Power punishes Primal-Groudon.

At the start of building this team Diancie was an offensive Stealth Rock setter, allowing Groudon to run a dual dance set. But later on Diancie was changed to protect to ensure the ever-important mega evolution for the speed boost.

flashtheheatonem (Groudon-Primal) @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 236 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
Stealth Rock / Dragon Tail / Precipice Blades / Lava Plume

Primal Groudon is a feature on almost all teams. I don't need to justify its place but Groudon fills a lot of roles in this team. It checks Xerneas, phases defoggers, and gets burns on levitating pokemon. The evs are for max bulk, with a few speed to creep. Stealth Rock is an obvious choice, a very reliable setter along with Precipice Blades for a strong stab attack.

Another option is to go Stealth Rock Diancie and to make this dual dance, gives this team a much better matchup versus classic stall.

lifeorb.png

gat in hand (Mewtwo) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Taunt / Psystrike / Focus Blast / Ice Beam
Mewtwo is a very good support to the Diancie / Cloyster core of the team. It can taunt support Arceus and it is a very strong special attacker that revenge kills a lot of threats. Focus Blast is for the dark types, mainly Darkrai while Ice Beam hits the flying threats such as Yveltal, the dragons, and Lugia. If Toxic Spikes are up Mewtwo can break stall.

we all get laced (Giratina-Origin) @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 Atk / 252 Def / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
Dragon Tail / Draco Meteor / Shadow Force / Shadow Sneak

Giratina-Origin is a nice blanket check to all physical attackers. It levitates making it the primary primal groudon switch in. It absorbs Extreme-Speed and Rapid Spin which helps out Cloyster a lot. Something else is Dragon tail spam early on is very nice because if the opponents team lacks a cleric then you wont have to worry about them defogging because the poison has already been spread. Draco Meteor can hit Primal-Groudon among other things very hard while you can Shadow Force on Arceus-Ghost's Shadow Force to help check it with the combo of Shadow Sneak.
arceus-normal.gif

silkscarf.png

check it out (Arceus) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Swords Dance / Extreme Speed / Shadow Claw / Refresh
Arceus normal, dubbed as one of the most well known threats throughout the generations of Ubers is no different in ORAS. Extreme-Killer Arceus gave this team a much needed win condition. Calm Mind / Support Arceus-Ghost really gave big issues to this team so I decided to the Refresh set of Arceus to deal with Will-O-Wisp Arceus-Ghost. Swords Dance and Extreme Speed are fairly self explanatory while Shadow Claw is to hit the ghosts this set is meant to check. Silk Scarf is better to remain healthy while sweeping.
Threatlist:
493-ghost.png

Both the special and physical sets are threats to this team. Arceus can check the special Arceus-Ghost lacking Focus-Blast while the physical sets can be played around with Mewtwo / Arceus / Giratina-Origin.
717.png

Yveltal can be very dangerous once diancie gets weak, but this mon comes in for free on nothing expect for a prediction on Mewtwo and can be worn down fairly quickly.
Y63zdgN.png

Mega-Salamence can be a huge threat to this team, but it only really sets up on Arceus if intimidate is still around, and Giratina-Origin can take a hit if need be.
493-water.png

Arceus-Water can be fairly annoying if it isn't poisoned, but refresh Arceus can deal with it fairly well.
Matchup
386s.png
Offense
373-m.png

Offense is a very good matchup with this team as they struggle to get hazards up and to keep hazards off of their side. We all know how much worse the sample ho team is without hazards up on your side of the field.
383-p.png
Ho-Oh Balance
250.png

Ho-Oh Balance is a even matchup, the key being getting rid of their defogger early so you can lay the hazards up. Ho-Oh is much less of a threat with rocks up. Cloyster does well in this matchup beating some of the most common defoggers in Latios / Latias and also dealing some solid damage to Primal-Groudon and Ho-oh after a smash, and killing Diancie after one
248.png
Sand
530.png

Sand is a decent matchup versus this team as sand teams normally have two ways to get rid of hazards and Tyranitar does well versus Cloyster in the lead slot.
302-m.png
Stall
249.png

Stall is very tricky, but if played right and you manage to get Toxic Spikes up the opposing team will start to drop quickly.

hope you enjoyed :)

cool team but i made this team myself with the same exact sets except wobb > mewtwo and Ray > Gira then my Arceus forme as -Ghost; I used it to beat Krau in BotW which happened before the creation of your version and this RMT. Dc tho because I think I like your version more anyways and you're a good friend so idc if this is a team steal or not. I have also made a tspikes team that is similar to this team as well which was Don / forre / deo-a / diance / gira / refresh ekiller. I didnt think of merging the two together and swapping Mewtwo for Deo and gaining a Taunt which I think is pretty neat.

Shoot me a PM here or on PS if you see me there if you'd like some EV spreads that help your team vs Darkrai and Xerneas in scenarios where Tspikes are not up.

Hey Peli, this is a solid enough offense team although there's a couple things I'd like to address. The first is: why exactly are you using Mewtwo? The fact that you had the least to say about it in your RMT and the fact that Ducky has a similar team with Mewtwo replaced gives further evidence that it's sort of an arbitrary addition. If you want a strong special attacker than can Taunt Arc formes you could use Darkrai, which helps against your mentioned Ghostceus and stall problems, although Toxic Spikes use on your part sorta clashes with Dark Void. Since pretty much every team has at least one Pokemon, sometimes as many as three Pokemon immune to Toxic Spikes, it's not like Darkrai's Void is completely useless, and you can obviously sleep things if Toxic Spikes aren't set. You don't really need Mewtwo to revenge anything in particular; opposing Darkrai is adequately covered with Mega Diancie and EKiller's ability to revenge it, Skymin is uncommon and you have double priority as insurance, and you don't reliably revenge Mega Gengar without MM2Y anyways. In terms of switch-in opportunities it offers pretty much nothing, which means you can either use a mon with just as little defensive synergy but is better at threatening stall, or you can just run a Pokemon that has better switch-in opportunities and covers some threats you're worried about.

The second is: What on your team in particular benefits from the Toxic Spikes support that Cloyster provides? The question sort of arises from the fact that you decided to build around Toxic Spikes before you had selected particular offensive Pokemon to benefit from it. I suppose Mega Diancie sorta does but Steel-types, the best Mega Diancie checks, are immune, although Toxic Spikes does annoy Primals and Arc Ground so it's kind of a mixed bag. EKiller also kinda benefits from Toxic Spikes wearing down Arc Ghost, but again many EKiller checks are immune to Toxic Spikes. Judging from the teambuilding the initial reason wasn't to build around Mewtwo + Toxic Spikes, although that's actually a reasonable starting point where Toxic Spikes can wear down Arceus-Ghost and manage to get poisoning onto Mega Sableye, one of the most common Mewtwo checks (also lets Ice Beam 2HKO after poison damage). Sure your Mewtwo set can't touch the rare Aegislash, but whatever, if it ever bothered you despite having ways to get through it you could always run Fire Blast. If the mentality is to revolve around Toxic Spikes + Mewtwo I think you might benefit from trying Calm Mind over Taunt; several common Mewtwo switch-ins don't care about Taunt anyways and support Arc should be pressured by Toxic Spikes while a +1 Mewtwo hammers them hard and takes little from Judgment.

You mention a Mega Salamence weakness that I don't really think is a substantial problem as the only mon it can setup on is EKiller, while you have Cloyster, Gira-O, and Diancie as some insurance. If it really bothers you that bad then run Stone Edge on EKiller and focus on beating Arc Ghost via Toxic Spikes pressure rather than making use of the Refresh set. I don't also really see Yveltal as a problem, like you said it doesn't really come in on anything except Mewtwo using Taunt / Psystrike, I guess Gira-O using Shadow Sneak too. Stone Edge on EKiller somewhat helps, but offensive variants should lose to EKiller regardless while defensive sets likely have a Charti Berry anyways.

Summary:
Consider using Taunt Darkrai over Mewtwo
Consider dropping Mewtwo and running another mon with little defensive synergy but other advantages (Deo-A for example)
Consider dropping Mewtwo and running a mon that has better defensive utility to cover what you're worried about
Consider Calm Mind over Taunt on Mewtwo if you're focusing around Toxic Spikes + Mewtwo
Consider running standard EKiller with Stone Edge if Mence bothers you that much

More or less I think Darkrai's addition be only to free Arceus from being a ghostceus check letting it run a bulkier set with some coverage and perhaps even justifying Spikes > Toxic Spikes on Cloyster to avoid any status overlap with Dark Void.

My main problem with Mewtwo on the team is that it doesn't directly handle the Lati twins. It does stop Defog with Taunt but at the cost of being too weak to actually take them out of the match and is inferior to Darkrai which would dissuade either Lati from just clicking Psyshock and denting something. Even Deoxys-A could be a better choice for its powerful Knock Off that stops the Latis and Low Kick that can soft check Arceus-Dark. Deoxys-A can run all the coverage it wants to also in Psycho / ice beam / low kick / knock off given by the priority moves ran on Arceus and Giratina-O. Perhaps Focus Sash > Life Orb given that you have two methods of hazard control which can help against a set up Mega Mence and the likes.

In summary the possible changes you can make are:

Darkrai:
- Spikes > Toxic Spikes on Cloy to avoid status overlap with Dark Void
- Adamant Ekiller w/ Stone Edge to limit Mega Salamence
- Groudon with Attack investment (172+ is a good benchmark) to put xerneas into range of EKiller's espeed after spikes damage
* Thunder Darkrai to limit Kyogre and Ho-Oh; the former forces in your Groudon and wears it down so that it can no longer check Geoxern which is much needed on this variant of the build.

Deoxys-A:
- Spikes > Toxic Spikes on Cloy to damage Deoxys-A's switch ins (steels)
- Groudon with Attack investment (172+ is a good benchmark) to put xerneas into range of EKiller's espeed after spikes damage
* Focus Sash as held item on Deoxys-A to make use of the hazard control provided by Diancie and Cloyster; can give your team a last resort against set up sweepers. Run the analysis EV spread.

I like this Diancie for your team:
Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 48 SpA / 76 SpD / 136 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Protect
I like this Giratina-O for your team:
Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 220 Atk / 200 Def / 56 SpA / 32 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Shadow Sneak
- Shadow Force
- Draco Meteor
I hope his post is helpful; do tell me after testing which replacement for Mewtwo you found to be best. Good luck!
