With the combination of Flame Charge, Growth, and Simple, Numel is one of the most threatening sweepers in Little Cup. Simple doubles any stat changes, so when Flame Charge or Growth are used, Numel gets +2 to either its Speed or offensive stats. Fire Blast can be used over Flamethrower for improved chances to OHKO Pokemon like Crabrawler or Mudbray. Numel can use Tera Ground or Tera Fire to make its STAB moves even stronger, while Tera Grass can be used to allow Numel to shed its weakness to Ground- and Water-type moves, additionally granting Numel an immunity to Spore from Foongus.

Numel makes a good pair with Shellder on offensive teams, as they can work together to blow through many teams' defensive Pokemon like Mudbray or Foongus to make progress. Numel appreciates the presence of Memento users like Alolan Grimer or Drifloon, as Numel can take advantage of them dropping opposing Pokemon's stats to begin sweeping. Mudbray is able to take a boosted hit from either of Numel's STAB moves and threaten to KO it with High Horsepower or Earthquake. Grookey is a good partner because of this, as it can switch directly into Mudbray and force it out, as well as set up Grassy Terrain to cut the strength of Earthquake in half. Shroodle can also be problematic for Numel, as both of its sets can either threaten Numel offensively or prevent it from sweeping through status like Encore.

Numel can use Tera Fire or Tera Ground to make it's STAB moves even stronger, while Tera Grass can allow Numel to shed it's weakness to Ground and Water-type moves, allowing it to setup with Flame Charge or Growth. also spore immunity id probably mention
