Magikarp [PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999!] (Male)

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
Type: Water
Water: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.

Abilities:
Swift Swim:
Innate. The Pokemon with this ability moves extremely fast in slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its Speed in the rain.
Rattled [DW, Locked]: Innate. These Pokemon are more easily frightened by Ghost-, Bug-, and Dark-typed attacks and will raise their Speed by one (1) stage when struck by attacks of those types. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

<Munchlax> [Owen] (M)

Nature: Quiet (-10% Evasion)

Type: Normal

Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

About: A Munchlax with a knack for battling, there is nothing Owen likes more than a good fight (Other than food, naturally). Attracted by a honey tree, Owen was quick to ignore it in order to defend himself against Stella's Close-Combat, much to everyone's surprise. After a short stalemate, Owen was quickly brought down by Will's Megahorn and captured.
Loving the opportunity to train and become a strong, fat Snorlax, the young Munchlax trains hard and wishes to battle as many strong opponents as he can.....after he is done eating.

Pickup: (Passive) This Pokemon has a natural habit of collecting items. Whenever a hold item (its own or an opponents) is used or knocked onto the ground with a move like Knock Off, this Pokemon will immediately pick up that item without using an action. It can also grab dropped or naturally occuring hold items in arenas.

Thick Fat: (Passive) This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire- and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Gluttony (DW Locked): (Passive) This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat).

God damn it, where did Owen go? This was supposed to be just a simple shopping at the market....

003.png

You probably shouldnt have brought him to a market.

male40.png

Well, yeah, but the others are out, and you remember what happened last time we left him alone.

003.png

Fair enough, i guess...we really should have forced him to go play with Stella and the others.

male40.png

That and we shouldnt have trusted him to wait by the meats section....ugh, this place is huge! He could be having a battle at the other side of this place and we wouldnt know!

Meanwhile, at the other side of the market, a Munchlax chases around a Magikarp, throwing thunderbolts at it.

(I should have known this was a bad idea...where are mid-battle evolutions when you need them?)

Thunderbolt -> Body-Slam -> Thunderbolt

If Bounce outside of a combo A1 or A2, use Body-Slam Combo that action,
If Bounce outside of a combo A3, use Thunderbolt combo that action

kill me pls

also: i've attached an amulet coin to magikarp; you can attach whatever item you want if you haven't done so already matezoide 9_9

I've definitely seen a description of the ASB arena at one point, but I can't seem to find it anywhere... Essentially it was an arena with all resources available so tackle into the water will be fine. This will be my first time attempting flavor and Roleplayed actions!

Bounce ~ Tackle Munchlax into the water ~ Bounce
On a visit to a grocery store with his trainer, in hindsight a terrible place to bring a Munchlax, Owen noticed something bright red and barely edible flopping around. Being the Munchlax he is, Owen was determined to eat it. In his pursuit of the Magikarp, PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999!, Owen Somehow found himself in the ASB Arena.

The frightened Magikarp made a mighty flop, Bouncing into the air. Owen began to prepare for his real assault upon his prey, rather than feigning a Thunderbolt, as the Magikarp came plummeting down upon Owen. Once the Magikarp landed on the ground, Owen used extreme effort to jump up for an Intense Body Slam. Owen's effort was not wasted, the blow had Paralyzed the Magikap though he needed a rest after such a blow.

Taking advantage of his exhausted foe, the Magikarp flopped itself into Owen, putting more effort into moving the Munchlax than hurting it. Owen was too weary to offer much resistance and so the Muchlax was Tackled into the lake with the Magikarp following suit.

Once again, the Magikarp became airborne, and it proceeded to land on Owen and Bounce off into the water. Owen, knowing the futility of aiming at a Bouncing Magikarp had a technique prepared for its landing and hurled two Thunderbolts at his meal; the Twin Thunderbolts couldn't have had a more direct hit but their electricity crackled about the lake, backfiring upon the one that threw them.
Drenching: (Pseudo Status Effect, found in Water Gun's Description)
When drenched, the opponent's weakness to electric attacks is calculated at the next weakness level (e.g. 0.5x-1x, 1x-2x). Type immunity still applies, and Ground types cannot be paralyzed by Electric-type attacks, even when drenched.

Body Slam: The Pokemon jumps on top of the opponent with great force. The strength of the impact on pinned downed limbs can lead to paralysis.

Attack Power: 7 + User Weight Class/2.5 (round up) | Accuracy: 100% | Energy Cost: 5 + Weight Class/3 | Attack Type: Physical | Effect Chance: 30% | Contact: Yes | Typing: Normal | Priority: 0 | CT: Deferring

Bounce: The Pokemon leaps above an incoming attack and crashes down on the opponent with immense force. The strength of the impact on pinned limbs can cause paralysis. This move can hit any single Pokemon on the field, regardless of position. Gust, Hurricane, Sky Uppercut, Smack Down, Thunder, Twister, and Whirlwind cannot miss against an opponent in the semi-invulnerable stage of Bounce. When used during the semi-invulnerable stage of Bounce, Smack Down and Gravity will cause the Pokemon to crash to the ground, cancelling Bounce and making it take 50% of the damage it would've dealt as recoil. Gust, Twister, and Whirlwind will cause also Bounce to always miss when used during the semi-invulnerable stage, but will not result in recoil as with Smack Down and Gravity.

Attack Power: 7 + User Weight Class/2.5 (round up) | Accuracy: 85% | Energy Cost: 9 + Weight Class/3 | Attack Type: Physical | Effect Chance: 30% | Contact: Yes | Typing: Flying | Priority: Evasive Action: 0, Hit: -1 | CT: Force

Tackle: The Pokemon tackles the opponent with powerful force.

Not so fast.....

Using Sleep Powder, Ozzy has little problem subjugating Owen, he quickly wraps him with Vine Whip and drags him away.

003.png

Getting into a fight with a Magikarp on the market....Ugh, Matezoide is probably not going to like that.

The Venusaur quickly glances back at his sleeping companion.

003.png

At least knowing you are safe should calm him down very quickly though, haha.

gg, Woodchuck. Thanks for reffing, Ute.
