[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Band Azumarill carves a niche in the tier as wall breaker with access to priority Aqua Jet and a solid defensive typing that provides it entry points into common threats in the tier suck as Choice Specs Greninja and Keldeo. Liquidation is the preferred water STAB thanks to its ability to lower the defense of a potential switch-in, while Play Rough is Fairy-type STAB move of choice to nail Water-resists like Mega Latias. Aqua Jet allows Azumarill to revenge kill threats like Sand Rush Excadrill, Booster Energy Iron Moth, and Iron Boulder in a pinch. Knock Off provides a solid neutral hit into Pokemon that resist its dual coverage like Amoonguss, and item removal is valuable for helping chip down Pokemon like Slowbro, Celesteela and Skarmory into range for future assaults by Azumarill or its teammates. An Adamant nature with maximum EVs is preferred to maximize damage output, while maximum Speed investment enables it to outspeed Skarmory and minimum Speed Celesteela. Choice Band Azumarill fits best on Bulky Offense squads that can provide pivoting support for Azumarill.
  • role that the Pokemon plays
    • Wallbreaker
    • part time revenge killer (but gonna minimise this)
  • coverage moves that affect its role
    • STABs -- obviously
    • Aqua Jet for priority
    • Knock Off for a solid neutral hit on targets like Amoonguss and hits Slowbro hard.
      • Item removal helps both itself and teammates. Knocking off celesteela, skarm, etc. is always valuable.
    • Frustration hits Mega Venusaur harder than any of its STABs.
  • EV spread in one sentence or less
    • Maximum attack = maximum damage, Adamant to accentuate power
    • Maximum speed investment to outspeed defensive Skarmory and Celesteela
  • brief example of teammates that benefit from the Pokemon's presence
    • Water/Fairy is an excellent type combination in this tier as seen with Tapu Fini. You become a quasi-switch in to a lot of dangerous fighting and dark types
      • For example, you can pivot on some Hydreigon sets, you beat greninja without gunk shot,
    • Forces out most ground types, including Hippowdon, and Ting-Lu
    • Revenge killer for stuff like Sand Rush Excadrill
    • Water Spam and Fairy Spam are both options thanks to the versatility in wallbreakers from both types
  • brief example of foes that the Pokemon is vulnerable to + teammates to help cover them
    • Defensive grass types don't particularly like switching in, but they can exploit Azumarill locked into a water move. This includes Tangrowth, Mega Venusaur (closest thing to a counter), Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, and even Hydrapple in a pinch
    • Defensive water types, again, don't like switching in. Scald burns. Rotom-Wash responds w/ will o wisp - cripple
    • Skarmory can take a hit and either exploit it to set up spikes / iron defense or toxic.
    • Water immunities like Volcanion and Gastrodon can dissuade it clicking buttons
