Happy 2k dear Dogfish, happy 2k to you! (6-way doubles melee)

Status
Not open for further replies.
6 way doubles melee (FE)!

2 v 2 v 2 v 2 v 2 v 2 (That's a LOT of RC, J/S)

1 Day DQ ; 1 Week DQ for ref

As for rules:
Arena picked by next person!
Person after selects Move/Chill/Revover restrictions!
Person after selects abilities!
Person after selects items!
Last Person selects Switch rules! And also gets to attack last!

Attacks are made in the same order for R1 - I'll attack first, each post after is the next attacker for R1.

Accepting dogfish's giant melee

Arena will be, my fave,
The Colosseum

Complexity: Simple
Format: All
Arena Type: None
Restrictions: None

The Colosseum. Yes, the one in Rome. There's a water source, as well as plenty of rocks. If the Emperor (referee) decrees the match to be too boring, then he may order the release of a pokemon into the arena that will attack indescriminately. It can be a legendary like Kyogre or something smaller like Houndoom

also accepting!

no move restrictions!

Grr... I can't figure out 26. Nothing seems to fit....

Anyways, I would love to join the Melee.

All Abilities.

Joining Dogfish's brawl
Items=counter producing ones only

Accepting into DF's brawl.
Switch=KO

Note: because this is a battle with more than 4 participants, orders are to be PM'd to the ref.

Anyway, let's look at the teams.

Team Dogfish44

Eelektross [Murena] (F)
Nature: Quiet (+1 SpA, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)
Type:
Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.

Abilities:
Levitate (Trait): This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a flying type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Nature: Mild (+SpAtk -Def)

Abilities:
Ability 1: Motor Drive (Innate) - This Pokemon nullifies any electrical attack damage and converts the energy from any electrical attack (inc. Thunder Wave) into an energy source that allows it to boost its speed by one (1) level. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts..
Ability 2: Vital Spirit (DW) (Innate) - This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.

Flavour

Well this is the biggest battle I've ever seen! Six trainers each sending out teams of two pokemon for a giant tag team melee! Immediately, Storm the Dragonite's scales toughen as she prepares to enter a world of pain. Blaster the Porygon-Z analyses its opponents and decides to boost its special powers to help it in this battle. As if that wasn't enough pre-battle preparation, Squishy the Ditto suddenly transforms into an Eelektross not unlike Murena! This is going to be interesting.

Short Fuse the Electivire begins by swiftly striking Storm with an Ice Punch, but the Dragonite's tough scales lessen the impact of the attack like some kind of armour. Blaster then mimics Psychic powers by hacking into Casalimai the Revenankh's mind and hurling him about the arena without even touching him. Storm senses potential trouble with status effects so she erects a special screen to Safeguard herself and her ally Royal the Empoleon. The Empoleon then walks up to Short Fuse with a Swagger that enrages the Electivire, but this rage makes his attacks somewhat uncontrollable. Suddenly, Diego Armando the Armaldo Digs underground to avoid any trouble. A wise move there, as Murena the real Eelektross and Squishy the fake Eelektross attack almost simultaneously. Squishy breathes a Flamethrower all over Haganeiru the Steelix, who right now is probably regretting trading a rocky skin for a metal one. Murena, meanwhile, Discharges electricity, striking her ally Short Fuse as well as Storm and Royal. The Electivire welcomes the electricity, taking it into his body and converting the energy into kinetic energy. Storm, on the other hand, does not appreciate the sudden electricity overload, but Royal the Empoleon gets struck in a weak spot, much to Murena's glee. All this time, nobody's been paying attention to Togechikku the Togetic, who takes the time to set up a Light Screen to protect herself and her ally Haganeiru from special attacks. Haganeiru could've used that earlier, but he doesn't complain - he just creates an Earthquake by slamming his heavy tail into the ground. Naromus the Lucario gets caught in the seismic activity along with Short Fuse and Royal. Shield the Shuckle, having been casually watching everyone else, decides that she can get some power from Storm and, via Power Split, she siphons some of her strength. And it looks like the pokemon are taking a quick breather ... but what's this? Suddenly Naromus the Lucario jumps into action, pummeling Blaster to dust with a Super Close Combat! And then Casalimai the Revenankh strikes Haganeiru with a Shadowy Drain Punch, sapping some of his vitality! But wait, there's more! Diego Armando has decided he's tired of hiding underground and he leaps out of the ground, straight into Royal the Empoleon's most vulnerable area! Things are not looking good for Royal.

Short Fuse, while buffed in more ways than one, struggles to find his bearings, but he manages to land another Ice Punch on Storm, this time doing more damage than before. Naromus is exhausted after that combo and needs to cool down. Casalimai also cools down and catches his breath, while Blaster generates three orbs of energy and launches them at Short Fuse. This Tri Attack strikes true and suddenly the Electivire is looking a bit worried, but at least he has a grip on himself now. Storm tries to regain some of her lost power by performing a Dragon Dance, while Royal joins in the fight against Short Fuse by firing some Scalding hot water at him. Diego Armando follows up by creating a massive Rock Slide over the Electivire, the Togetic and the Dragonite. The rocks do significant damage to Togechikku and Storm and almost bring Short Fuse to his knees. The Eelektross duo strike next, with Squishy breathing another Flamethrower, this time over Naromus the Lucario, and Murena unleashing her Hidden Power on Storm. Those scales have served her well, but the Dragonite doesn't look like she can last much longer. Togechikku, perhaps a little late, sets up a Reflective barrier to block the physical attacks of her opponents, while Haganeiru causes another Earthquake, catching the same pokemon as before in the tremors. Royal suddenly feels some kind of second wind effect after taking that blow. Shield the Shuckle is still not satisfied with her current power levels, so performs a Power Trick to get the desired result, at the cost of some defensive capability.

As for which pokemon is going to get knocked out first, I'd say either Short Fuse, Storm, Naromus or Royal. But there have been upsets in the past and anything can happen in ASB. Now, is the emperor pleased with how things are going?

...

It looks like he is. The trainers look relieved to see this.

Woah.... that's an awful lot o_O

Good job reffing that, it's awesome

And Objection, you're gonna hate me for this, but Storm cannot be paralysed. Safeguard was up for it

Will fix those.

EDIT: OK, I think they're fixed now. If anyone who already sent in orders wants to change them in light of this correction, do so now.

One more thing, shouldn't Lucario's defenses have dropped 2 stages each from the Close Comat Combo?

Ah yes. Looks like reffing in the early hours of the morning has caused me to miss a lot more than I expected.

EDIT: Fixed that.

OK, turns out I was able to get this reffing done sooner than I thought.

Ok, that worked out pretty well. Lets keep it up. That Shuckle is looking pretty scary, so lets phaze away all its cool stuff. And then smash EM's screens.

Porygon-Z: Psychic (Revenankh) - Shadow Ball (Revenankh)
If Dragonite is still alive on your second action, use Ice Beam (Dragonite) instead.

Ditto: Dragon Tail (Shuckle) - Brick Break (Steelix)
If Elevator Music's team's Screens have already been destroyed switch action 2 to Flamethrower (Steelix)

Flavour

Short Fuse immediately prepares to Endure whatever attacks come his way as he senses that his time in the arena is almost up. Naromus then strikes with ExtremeSpeed but his target Royal takes a measly amount of damage. Storm slams into the ground to create an Earthquake that hits Short Fuse, Naromus and Diego Armando. The Electivire, however, had braced himself for the impact and manages to hang in there. The Lucario takes a good chunk of damage while Diego Armando is significantly less hurt. Blaster then emulates Psychic powers by tossing Casalimai from one side of the arena to the other, but then the Revenankh strikes back with a Drain Punch that saps a good portion of Blaster's vitality. A now-invigorated Royal summons a wave of water and Surfs on it, directing it towards Short Fuse, Diego Armando and Shield. The deluge of water puts a huge dent in the Armaldo's armour, while Short Fuse once again endures the attack and survives. Shield's natural toughness allows her to withstand the blow, but she still takes a decent amount of damage. Suddenly, there's another Rock Slide in the arena, courtesy of Diego Armando. The unfortunate targets of this attack are Storm, Blaster and Squishy. All three are bashed badly by the rocks, but they're still capable of acting. As if not enough pokemon have already been hit, Murena then Discharges some more electricity, some of it boosting her ally even further and the rest shocking Storm and Royal badly. All this time, Shield has felt that her nifty techniques earlier on have gone unappreciated, but that myth is busted when Togechikku calls for an Encore. Suddenly, the Shuckle gets the urge to perform her Power Trick again! All this does though is undo the effects of her previous trick. But then there's another Earthquake, this time caused by Haganeiru. The tremors shake up Short Fuse, who barely manages to hold on, but Royal and Naromus have had enough and want to call it quits. They are returned to their pokeballs just before Squishy surprises Shield by striking with a Dragon Tail. The Shuckle's rock-hard exterior protects her from the damage, but her focus has been disrupted and suddenly the power she siphoned from Storm vanishes.

Speaking of Storm, guess who just got hit by Short Fuse's Ice Punch! And this time it's enough to knock her out of the sky and out of the match. This means we have our first loser: Steampowered has been eliminated from the match! But there's no time for commiserations as Blaster has just fired a Shadow Ball straight at Casalimai, and it looks like he got hit in a weak spot! Once he gets his breath back, the Revenankh strikes Togechikku with a Drain Punch, but the reflective barrier she set up earlier partially protects her from the attack and Casalimai doesn't get as much restoration this time. Diego Armando then creates another Rock Slide, but the rocks miss Blaster completely and Togechikku once again is partially protected by the reflective barrier. Only Squishy seems to take any real damage from them, but one of the rocks landed on the phony Eelektross' head and Squishy has suddenly forgotten what to do! The real Eelektross is also having trouble working out what to do, so she just unleashes her Hidden Power in the form of an aimless attack that just so happens to hit Haganeiru, though Togechikku's other barrier and the Steelix's natural toughness almost nullify the impact of the attack. Togechikku then calls upon an AncientPower to send some of Diego Armando's rocks straight back at him. Turns out the Armaldo doesn't like getting a taste of his own medicine. Haganeiru follows up with ... yet another Earthquake, but like Murena, he doesn't know who to aim for. In the end, the tremors hit Blaster and Short Fuse, the latter of which still manages to withstand the blow, and some shaking can be felt underneath Murena but the Eelektross isn't bothered. Then Shield realises that she has been duped, so performs one more Power Trick to make things right.

After that, I'm thinking that Short Fuse has run out of luck and Blaster is probably going down soon too. But let's hear from the emperor. Does he consider this battle too boring yet?

...

I guess he's easily excited. No surprise pokemon just yet.

Flavour

It looks like some pokemon have stopped going on the offensive and started going on the defensive. Shield, normally quite the slow pokemon, begins by giving her ally a Helping Hand while Short Fuse, desperate to survive for as long as possible, Protects himself from incoming attacks. Blaster has a similar idea, but decides that the best way of accomplishing it is an evasive Agility. This allows the Porygon-Z to evade Casalimai's incoming Drain Punch, while the Electivire's defensive stance saves it from Diego Armando's stronger-than-normal Rock Slide. Murena and Togechikku, on the other hand, take plenty of damage from the falling rocks. Togechikku, in fact, finds herself buried under a pile of rocks and unable to do anything except try to break free! The two Eelektross then turn their attention to Team Elevator Music. The real one strikes Togechikku with a Wild Charge, hurting herself a little in the process, while the fake one attacks Haganeiru with a Brick Break, which smashes the team's protective barriers to pieces and strikes the Steelix in a weak spot! Haganeiru, in an attempt to even the odds for himself and his ally, summons a Sandstorm that buffets almost everyone in the arena. It even bypasses Short Fuse's protection and knocks him out!

Just as things are starting to go in favour of the Steelix and the Togetic, the latter is blasted by a Hyper Beam! Who is responsible for this? Who else but Blaster? The Porygon-Z will have to recharge its batteries though, but Casalimai's next Drain Punch has no aim whatsoever! The Revenankh just strikes a random pokemon, which happens to be Murena. Now Casalimai, despite having plenty of vitality, is feeling very tired. But Murena's not out of the woods yet. Diego Armando slashes at her with an X-Scissor, knocking her down briefly, but she gets up in time to retaliate with a Volt Switch. Unfortunately for her, Diego Armando's skin seems to have gotten tougher thanks to the flying sand grains in the arena. Squishy continues to attack Haganeiru, this time with a Flamethrower that leaves a nasty burn on the Steelix. Haganeiru tries to Smack Down Murena with a heavy rock, but the force of the throw is weakened by his burn. It doesn't stop the rock from keeping the Eelektross pinned to the ground though. Shield finishes the round by rolling up into a Gyro Ball and slamming into Murena. She's getting a lot of hate all of a sudden.

After that, it looks like we finally have a favourite. But what does the emperor think?

...

The emperor is satisfied with how the battle is progressing.

If your target (or one of them) has been KO'd, redirect to whatever enemy the RNG decides (not your partner) as I don't really care.

Flavour

Blaster opens by unleashing its Hidden Power on Haganeiru as one last-ditch attempt to knock someone out. Unfortunately for the Porygon-Z and everyone else, Shield and Diego Armando look like they're combining forces again. Shield prepares to give the Armaldo a Helping Hand while he creates another Rock Slide over Murena, Blaster and Squishy. The rocks knock out Blaster and do some damage to Squishy, but Murena anticipated the attack and Protects herself. However, one of the rocks was about to strike a weak area, so it took a little bit more energy than normal to protect herself. Casalimai, safe from the rocks, takes some time to Chill out and restore some energy. Squishy then goes on the offensive and burns Haganeiru with another Flamethrower, this time knocking out the pokemon that summoned the Sandstorm. This now means that Elevator Music has been eliminated from the match! This could be over very soon!

Now feeling slightly refreshed, Casalimai strikes Murena with a Drain Punch, sapping some of her vitality, while Diego Armando focuses on slashing Squishy with an X-Scissor. The two Eelektross then gang up on the Armaldo, striking him with a Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon! Suddenly it looks like he might go down soon, but the Shuckle comes to the rescue by creating her own Rock Slide over both Eelektross and the Revenankh. This combined with the abrasive Sandstorm mean Murena is knocked out as well, which in turn means Dogfish44 has been eliminated from the match! I expect Squishy will give up the ghost soon as well, and everyone else is feeling the burn too.

Now, what say you, mighty emperor?

"RELEASE THE GYARADOS!"

You heard him, everyone! Now the remaining pokemon are going to have to contend with a Gyarados! And not just any old Gyarados either. This one has been trained specifically to use the moves Aqua Tail, Bounce, Earthquake, Ice Fang and Stone Edge, but there's no telling which move it might want to use right now. Have fun!

Oof, at least I had a good run, and got to troll everyone with Endure and Protect shenanigans.

The Gyarados' presence is intimidating all the pokemon in this arena. I wonder how they will cope with this beast.

Casalimai begins by trying to strike Squishy with a Shadow Sneak but Squishy Protects itself from the attack. The Gyarados, unsure of what to do, chomps on Shield with an Ice Fang. That's probably the most damage any pokemon has done to the Shuckle for the entire battle. Both pokemon on Rediamond's team realise that they are running out of steam and decide to Chill out. As they do so, Shield's special power trick runs out, greatly reducing her powers but restoring her former sturdiness.

Shield then decides to Bide her time, and then the Gyarados strikes again. Unfortunately for Rediamond, his Armaldo takes the brunt of the Gyarados' Aqua Tail and is knocked out as a result! It looks like we might be in for an upset, and Gyarados is loving it! I suspect his attacks are going to be a bit more powerful now. As Casalimai Chills to restore some of his lost energy, though, Squishy electrocutes the Gyarados with a Zap Cannon before succumbing to the Sandstorm. jas61292 has been eliminated from the match! Now there are only two pokemon left other than the Gyarados: Shield the Shuckle and Casalimai the Revenankh. But which one will prevail?

The emperor seems excited about the Gyarados' destruction, so it looks like we won't be seeing any more pokemon yet.

Continue biding - Unleash

Flavour

Not much going on now that there's only three pokemon in the arena, two of which are low on energy. Casalimai Chills while Shuckle continues to Bide. Some yawns are coming from the crowd, but then suddenly Gyarados slams into the ground, causing an Earthquake that shakes up both of the other pokemon, doing decent damage to them. This is swiftly followed by the Shuckle finally Unleashing her rage on the Gyarados, who suddenly seizes up due to all the excess electricity from Squishy's last-ditch attack. Casalimai tries to Wrap Shield with his bandages, but the initial strike is endured with ease. However, he suddenly tightens his grip and Shield is not feeling comfortable at all.

The emperor is rather disappointed in the Gyarados' poor performance this round, and feels that he could use some backup. "RELEASE THE ARCHEOPS!" This must be the Archeops that has been trained only to use Acrobatics, AncientPower, Fly, Earth Power and Stone Edge. I wonder how it will perform in the battle.

The emperor orders an Archeops to be released into the arena to help the Gyarados speed up this battle. However, it looks like the Archeops and Gyarados just want to fight each other! Archeops tries to cut him down with a Stone Edge, but misses by a mile! Gyarados overcomes his paralysis and retaliates with an Aqua Tail. This wasn't what we had in mind at all! While those two duke it out, Casalimai Taunts Shield, preventing her from relaxing and restoring any energy.

Suddenly, the Archeops tries to attack Shield with another Stone Edge ... but misses completely! I can hear the emperor groaning from here. Gyarados, not satisfied with his previous attack, uses another Aqua Tail. This time, he strikes Archeops in a very weak spot, and suddenly he has lost the will to fight! Meanwhile, Casalimai summons a Sand Tomb to trap Shield, but in doing so he accidentally releases her from his tightly-wrapped bandages. Shield Struggles to do anything and decides to ram Casalimai, but the damage he does is very little.

We could be in for a very long battle here. Unless ... what's the emperor ordering?

"DISMISS THE GYARADOS!"

Well at least now Archeops should focus on the two battlers' pokemon.

Flavour

As the battle rages on, Archeops begins by Flying up into the sky. Casalimai Chills to replenish some lost energy while Shield, who wishes she could do the same, instead creates a swirling vortex of sand not unlike the one she is caught in, and traps the Revenankh in this Sand Tomb! Now Archeops isn't sure which whirlwind of sand to direct his attack at! In the end, it unleashes its attack on Shield, but the Shuckle's tough exterior protects her from most of the blow.

Disappointed with that result, Archeops flies over to the other sandy tornado and strikes Casalimai with a Stone Edge, but Casalimai senses that Archeops' heart really isn't in it. However, he has other ideas, as he drops the sandstorm around Shield, instead Wrapping her with his bandages again. Shield retaliates with a Mud-Slap, not doing any real damage but certainly hampering Casalimai's accuracy.

The emperor looks like he's about to order another pokemon to be released into the arena ... no, wait, he's changed his mind. Maybe the Gyarados-Archeops conflict earlier had an impact on him?

Flavour

Well, I'd like to say this was an incredibly action-packed round ... but all that really happens is Archeops summons an AncientPower against each of the battling pokemon, with the one against Shield being totally ineffective, then Shield strikes Casalimai with a Mud-Slap while the Revenankh Chills. Then he strikes with a Drain Punch and drains a small portion of the Shuckle's vitality as she creates a Rock Slide, striking the Archeops in a weak spot and doing small injury to Casalimai too. Then, all of a sudden ...

"DISMISS THE ARCHEOPS! RELEASE THE METAGROSS!"

You heard him, ladies and gentlemen! The now-weakened Archeops is being recalled and in its place, the emperor has called for a Metagross! It has been trained to use only the moves Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide and Zen Headbutt. Oh, and I'm hearing something else as well. If the emperor continues to get bored, he is going to release a pokemon that uses only Perish Song! These battlers had better up their game if either of them wants to defeat the other!
