Ride the Thunderwave

The focus of this team is mainly paralyzing with the plan to make way for a Gyarados sweep. It uses a mix of Kanto and Johto Pokemon.

Lead

Clint Eastwood (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Stealth Rock

An pretty cool lead, though I think the Pokemon looks itself looks pretty lame.

It can take a beating even from most SE attacks. It serves as my status absorber and scares away ground Pokes (Swamperts) for a T-Wave on the switch.

Recover for recovery, Stealth Rock for the setup, Grass Knot for for fat asses/ground type, Twave for anything that isn't immune.

Sweeper

Mike Tyson (Gyarados) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
I think Gyarados is a pretty cool guy. eh kills pokemon and doesn't afraid of anything. Except for things that it does afraid of. Things that my other Pokemon have hopefully killed or paralyzed before I bring this dude out. EV'd to perfection so that his power is maximum (last poorly used meme of this RMT).

I'm considering changing this to Bounce/Waterfall/Subsitute/Dragon Dance because those are amusing to watch.

Physical Wall

Adam West (Slowbro) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 212 HP/252 Def/44 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
- Slack Off

The second thunder-wave user. Surf for STAB, Ice Beam for +1 Salamence, Slack-Off for recovery, and TWave for the switch. Can go toe-to-toe with Swampert and always comes out the victor.

Special Attacker
Spr_b_g2_135.png

Samuel Adams (Jolteon) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Shadow Ball
- Signal Beam

I badly needed a counter to Singal Beam Jolteon. Most Jolteon are running Choice Specs so a LO Jolt works nice.

Thunderbolt for things that don't resist it, HP Grass for Ground types, Shadow Ball for opposing Jolteon, and Signal Beam for Celebi.

Special Wall

Steve Rogers (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/36 Spd/220 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Thunder Wave
- Roost

Not a bad Special Attack sponge if I do say so myself, though it can often get itself into trouble with this team's lack of Rapid Spin. Takes care of opposing Zapdos (Hopefully they're not carrying T-Wave themself), Gengar, and is my favorite Scizor counter.

T-Wave for the switch (or lack thereof), Heatwave for the Scizor, Magnets, Celebis, and Jirachis, Thunderbolt for everything else, and Roost for the recovery.

Physical Attacker

Xena (Scizor) (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower

Hey, you know this guy! I'm glad Scizor got the Platinum buff because I'm tired of crappy looking Pokes (Salamence, Heatran, Celebi, Jirachi, Swampert) being the only powerful Pokes.

This dud does it all. Revenge kills, chips away, and scouts. Bullet Punch for the priority/STAB, Pursuit for the cowards, U-Turn to scout, and Superpower for Weaviles (of which I've seen the number growing... How dare they try to make a comeback?) and Luke/Magnezone switch ins.

Threat List

Scizor: Zapdos
Salamence: Slowbro
Gyarados: Celebi, or piss it off with a Twave and pay Zapdos doesn't get fucked on the switch or switch in Zapdos right away and take it straight up
Heatran: Slowbro, Zapdos?, Gyarados?
Infernape: Slowbro
Metagross: Slowbro, Zapdos, Gyarados
Tyranitar: Slowbro?, Scizor, Celebi?
Swampert: Celebi, Slowbro, Jolteon
Blissey: Celebi, Gyarados, Scizor
Gengar: Zapdos, Jolteon
Lucario: I'm fucked, Zapdos, Scizor?, Celebi?, hopefully this dud is Twaved quick.
Latias: Slowbro, sometimes Jolteon, sometimes Scizor
Jirachi: Zapdos, Slowbro
Azelf: Zapdos
Starmie: Zapdos, Jolteon
Zapdos: Zapdos, Jolteon
Bronzong: Pokemon
Skarmory: Slowbro, Zapdos, Jolteon
Celebi: Zapdos, Scizor
Vaporeon: Celebi, Zapdos, Jolteon
Breloom: lol i forgot
Gliscor: Slowbro
Jolteon: Zapdos
Flygon: Slowbro
Machamp: Slowbro

Boy, I sure hope my Slowbro doesn't get taken out.

Heart Gold will have better Pokemon.

Sandshrew, Sandslash > Ekans, Arbok (Gold > Silver)
Growlithe, Arcanine > Vulpix, Ninetales (Gold > Silver)
Mankey, Primeape >>> Meowth, Persian (Gold > Silver)
Spinarak, Ariados > Ledyba, Ledian (Gold > Silver)
Gligar > Delibird (Gold > Silver)
Mantine < Skarmory (Primeape > Darkrai)
Teddiursa, Ursaring > Phanpy, Donphan (Gold > Silver)

Donphan is by far the worst rapid spinner in OU. I have no idea why it is even in the OU anymore, it'd probably have a better time in UU. Ursaring looks cooler. Primeape is too good, even being able to buck horns in the uber tier. Arcanine is a force in UU. Gligar evolves into Gliscor, which is of coarse useful in OU. Sandslash is a sword dancing rapid spinner which is a neat idea, more useful than Arbok atleast. Ariados needs and evolution, it's a freakin SPIDER Pokemon. There aren't too many cooler bugs than Spiders.

Haven't you posted this before?

Same signature, same descriptions on the pokemon you didn't change. Pokemon names are weird though xD. Anyway, I'm here to give my two cents. Scarf-Gon right off the bat scares your team, for if its a lead you either lose Celebi or switch someone in to be scouted. If you switch in Slowbro, your losing a large chunk of health, and they switch to an appropriate counter /etc. While it can be handled there are alot of things it comes in for free on, Zapdos' attacks, Jolteon's Tbolt, celebi's twave, gyara's equake, etc. You should use a slightly bulkier Scizor: 252 HP / 176 Defense / 4 Spe / 76 Atk.

Honestly I thought the removal of Gengar as well as the vastly superior names dramatically altered the face of this team. I've also introduced the new profound question of a sub bouncing dd Gyarados. It's basically a new team!!

you take that back

I will not good sir! That would be a sham, a sham and lie to the fabric of the morals of our society!

Im not so keen on a Sp.Def Zapdos in todays metagame. I suggest you change that to a CB Tyranitar to help you against other problmatic Special threats like Heatran, and Rotom appliance also more scarily a CM Jirachi. The combination of Scizor and Tyranitar is very succesful and i think it will improve this team. Tyranitar, also, if im not mistaken is GSC so im good there.

I suggest you use this set on Gyarados:

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Adamant , 74 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe

- Dragon Dance

- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Bounce

If you want to take advantage of Bounce this is the set to do it on.
Bounce is extremely useful against Celebi. Bounce also works well with leftovers so Gyarados has some longevity.

Here is some damage calculations for bounce:

Bold 252 HP / 220 Def Celebi: 81.68-96.53% - KO with SR & Sandstream
Timid 136 HP / 156 Def Starmie: 72.54-85.76% - Possible KO with ditto

The speed ensures you outspeed Starmie Timid after a Dragon Dance.

I suggest you use Charge Beam on Jolteon instead of Signal Beam. For the simple reason that Shadow Ball does a Ton of damage to it before the boost and easily beats it with a boost.

Hope this helped.
