ARENA
Tualang City is a frontier town on the edge of a gigantic rainforest in a newly discovered region. While the town is far from the largest in the colony, it is the home of many explorers not currently on an expedition. This has led to it becoming a hub for science, as many of the plants, animals, and Pokemon in the forest have the potential to create powerful medicines. One such institution of science is the Verde Insect Research Center. Also known as the Tualang City Gym.

As you walk into the gym, you are quickly confronted by a large main hall that stretches up seven stories, with an enormous tree dominating the center of the room. A large number of exhibits line the walls and kiosks of the room, and it becomes evident that the building also serves as a museum on bug type Pokemon and the rainforest ecosystem as a whole. You wander almost to the back of the room before finally finding a desk marked "Tualang Gym Registration." Walking up to it, you find that there is no secretary, but rather a sign pointing to a door about ten feet behind it reading:

"Off tending the Pokemon, please come see me if you wish to talk.

-Gregor."

Seeing nothing better to do, you walk inside the door. A fantastic view awaits you upon entry.

This room is easily larger than the main hall, and is filled with terrain closely resembling the forest outside. Ivy-coated walls stretch up a full thirty feet to a massive spider web that appears to serve as the roof of the exhibit. From the humidity and heat of the room, you assume that it's a massive greenhouse, even if this isn't really necessary given that the city is in a rainforest climate.

A narrow trail cuts further on into the gym, leading through a dense forest of tropical foilage and exotic sounds. The dirt under your feet is quite moist, but what disturbs you most is a constant rushling in the plants around you. Whenever you stop, you can never hear anything, but it always seem to begin a little closer when you start moving.

After a very creepy hike, you eventually do see another human being on the trail. The man is wearing a green lab coat, and staring intently through a pair of binoculars at something in front of him. Wondering what he's doing, you take a step forwards and follow his gaze.

Yanmega fly over a pond about fifty meters away, and Surskit and Anorith swim on or near the surface. An Armaldo basks in the moisture and light at the edge of the water, while a Scyther drinks from the far end, eyeing every other creature in the area. You can vaguely make out an Ariados in the treeline, with Butterfree flying between the trees- out of reach of the Yanmega.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" You turn around to find the scientist standing up, looking at you. "I'm Gregor, the league's Bug Gym leader. Are you here seeking a challenge." You nod yes, and Gregor pulls out his notebook and glances over it. "Alright, I can pencil you in for a battle at 3:00. We have a demonstration then, and I like giving the guests something to look at beyond the usual show. Does this work for you."

You affirm it does, and he begins to walk back down the trail. Not particularly willing to be left behind with the Pokemon in the forest, you quickly run to meet him and walk out of the room in silence. Just as he you are about to reenter the main hall, you realize that you forgot to ask something important. "So, just where are we fighting at?"

The gym leader smiles sinisterly, and points out over your head. You follow his gaze, and see the web on top of the room.

Bug Gym Arena:

A large, tightly woven web stretches across the floor of the arena, while another one is spun about 8 feet above it. The webs are held together by a concrete structure, with windows surrounding the entire arena to allow visitors a chance to see the battle. While the arena is set up in such a way as to allow as many moves as possible, there are still some practical restrictions.

-3 vs 3 singles
-All moves not specified as banned are allowed in the arena
-Rock Slide cannot be used
-No natural water
-Due to the webbing above and below the arena, all Pokemon not of the bug or ground types will have the priority of all stages of bounce, fly, and dig reduced by 0.5
-In addition to their normal item, all Pokemon may carry a type resist berry. Due to the fireproof and sticky nature of the webbing, the berry cannot be swapped or destroyed by Trick, Switcheroo, Knock Off, or thief. Even if the player does not have a resist berry, they can draw one of any type from the arena
-RP actions are not only allowed but encouraged for the purposes of the demonstration

Glacier Knight doesn't have seemed to have gone the traditional type-bashing route, instead bringing a relatively diverse team; we'll see how this works out for him. As expected, however, our Gym Leader brings some of his strongest Pokemon, all of which are pretty diverse as well. This promises to be a good fight!

"Hello, and welcome to the first official demonstration battle in the Tualang City Gym. my name is Gregor, the leader here. Today we will be starting off the show with a powerful insect. Lucanus heracross are native to the Johto region, where they are considered to be environmental regulators. Lucanus heracross have been known to viciously attack Pokemon who threaten the plants they depend on, leading to large forests growing around colonies of the species."

Thank you Gregor for the warm welcome! I am very excited for our match today, and I am humbled at being your first opponent. Let is both show our exemplary minds and creativity, and give all those who watch us a grand show!

Now, that Heracross seems quite ferocious. Marvelous training indeed Gregor! To battle him first I will use a bug of my own, Kelvin my Syclant! We will have to be crafty with our moves, for you yourself own and work with this species; you know them like the back of your hand! But you will see that Kelvin has a few tricks up his "sleeves".

I wish you the best of luck! Let us begin.

Kelvin the Syclant@nothing

Kelvin, those items will hamper our chance of success. Let us remove them at once!

Knock off(rocky helmet)~bug bite~acrobatics
-if double team is used then change command list to bug bite~aerial ace~acrobatics
-if protect is used, use substitute (25hp) that action and push the qie down (only once)
-if heracross has a substitute up when you are going to bug bite, use ice beam instead

I hate to not use my creative knack for flavor moves, but do not fret, you will see my abilities later in the match when thu are needed.

[box]ROUND ONE

Leader Rediamond wastes no time whatsoever, sending out his trusty Heracross, armed with a helmet tailored perfectly to fit his protuberance. In addition, he plucks a berry from a nearby plant and tosses it to Corpus as well. On the challenger's side, Glacier Knight throws out a Pokeball and releases Kelvin the Syclant; surprisingly, he makes no move to equip an item—not even a berry from the plants nearby. Perhaps he's confident he can win.

Kelvin clicks his claws eagerly, and dashes towards Corpus, swiping quickly; he manages to knock off the helmet in this fashion, but for some strange reason the berry remains fixed to his body. Corpus isn't defenseless, however, and as he is hit he lowers his head and charges at Kelvin, striking the Syclant hard.

Wincing a bit from the attack, Kelvin makes another quick dash towards Corpus, concentrating on rendering his second item useless. With a quick open and close of his mouth, Kelvin plucks the berry from his enemy, and eats it up. Unfortunately, this leaves him open to a brilliant volley of punches and blows that Corpus is more than happy to deliver; things aren't looking that great for Kelvin right now, despite having an excellent nickname.

Realizing that he's going to have to actually deal significant damage in order to win the battle, Kelvin launches into an offensive, launching himself into the air and doing some extra somersaults before landing right on top of Corpus for some massive damage; once again, Corpus is more than ready to retaliate, though, and counters with an even bigger blow!

[box]Round TWO

Before Corpus can even react, Kelvin digs a hole deep into the webbing of the arena, avoided a quick jab from the Heracross. Seconds later, the Syclant comes back up, strikes Corpus lightly, then immediately tunnels back down, making the bewildered Corpus miss again. As Kelvin surfaces again and smacks the Heracross, it flips into the air and lands once again on it, racking up significant damage. It can't evade the third strike, however, and Corpus lands the first knockout of the match.

Corpus dances around happily and swings its horn around; its Attack seems to have increased![/box]

Well Gregor, you've drawn the first blood! However, I am far from finished. Corpus seems pretty hurt, how much more can he take? Or rather, how hard will you try to keep him standing?

This look like a job for Fernando! (@nothing)

Acrobatics~Acrobatics~Flamethrower
-If endure is used, use acrobatics+toxic that action
-If protective/evasive, use Hone Claws that action, and push the cue down (ONLY ONCE)

Note for Acrobatics+Toxic: In the DAT description, toxic is the release of poisonous gas. However, as seen in different times in the anime, fanart, and even the cartridge animations of the move, Toxic can have liquid and solid forms. A pokemon and spit up a spew of nasty purple toxic gunk, or create sticky poisonous goo that attaches to the enemy. Therefore, here is how the combo works in my mind. Simisear will use his acrobatic moves to fling himself onto heracross, and while on top of him, spewing toxic gunk right in his face/body. Or, if that seems impractical, Simisear can put toxic goo on his hands, and transfer the poison to heracross after the acrobatics bashing. Either way, Acrobatics and Toxic is plausible. If you look in the ASB threat list, you will see some weird comboes there as well (heat wave+bullet seed off the top of my head). Furthermore, the gym encourages creativity, and well.... this is creative.

(Engineer, if you disallow the combonation, please allow me to change my actions)

[box]ROUND THREE

Glacier Knight recalls Kelvin with a slight grimace, but he quickly recovers and sends out Fernando the Simisear, equipped with a classy top hat and cane, together almost heavy enough to encumber him. Before Fernando can even react, however, Corpus dashes forward with a quick hit, then engages the monkey in a round of hand-to-hand combat, leaving the monkey quite disoriented. However, Fernando is able enough to mimic Kelvin's earlier actions, flipping up into the air before arcing down gracefully and smashing into Corpus, finally knocking the first of Rediamond's Pokemon out.[/box]

"Now that Hieradula heracross is down, let's shift our focus to the next species we will be discussing today. Nomen armaldo is coming out behind me at the moment. Armaldo are an extinct species that has recently been revived. We are very fortunate to have a battle worthy one in the gym today, and it will almost certainly not dissapoint. Armaldo are famous for their ability to deflect many physical assaults with their armor, and then strike back with equal ferocity with claw based strikes. Bolstering this is an item usually attached to Weavile that Armaldo can also use to great effect."

"That last stand from Heracross dealt more damage than i was expecting.... next time i wont fight you with so many -def natures!"

Well Fernando, the odds are against us at the moment. Armaldo is a perfect enemy to counter your type and abilities. However, you and i know both you are capable than more than a little fire breathing. You have lots of Monkey Business! Let's show the brute how you can shimmy and shake around his force!

First and foremost, let us thank Kelvin for setting us up. Those holes in the web (the ones he created from all that digging) are going to be key in our victory of the round. Now, as the match begins, Armaldo is going to launch nasty chunks of rock at you. Use the Escape Hatch! Find the Hole nearest to you and jump in it quickly! Now, below the webby floor is nothing, so don't just jump down into your doom! cling to the other side of the web, which should not be a problem, given your monkey abilities and the fact the web is sticky.

Next, Crawl back out of the Hole, and charge towards Armaldo! Do not be scared of that Rock Slide command, because it simply cannot happen. His own arena prevents the usage of that move! So, you will not be harmed! Which is good, because this next action requires your upmost concentration. Since the arena is not very big, the four holes Scylant created are close nearby. I reckon Armaldo was summoned in almost the same spot Heracross stayed around, so that means he is near a hole! Spy the Hole, then Low Kick that Armaldo in the leg region, Causing him to topple over into the hole!

Now, For the third action, Armaldo will be struggling to not fall through the hole! But that's exactly what we want to happen. So, using all your power and force Fernando, jump into the air gracefully with your Acrobatics, and Crash into Armaldo's head! The force from your attack should push the poor, Heavy, through the web hole, and send him falling down to his doom.

Now, let's recap!

Action One
Jump into the Hole nearest to you, clinging to the bottom side of the web so that you do not fall

Action Two
Crawl out of the Hole, and charge at Armaldo. Aim carefully, then Low Kick Armaldo back into another one of the Holes created by Kelvin

Action Three
Gain as much force from a jumping Acrobatics as you can, and crash into armaldo from above, using the force to knock Armaldo through the hole

Notes: Syclant is Size Class 3, so the hole is big enough for Simisear to slip through without being encumbered (Size class 2.) Armaldo is Size class 3, so he should be able to fall through the hole with ease, but i have made Action three as it is because armaldo did not cleanly fall through the hole. It would be stumbling to catch and pull itself up. I imagine Armaldo halfway through the hole, and simi giving it the push it needs to go all the way down. Cheers~!

[box]ROUND FOUR

This round seems to have Glacier Knight thinking hard...

Peering at the holes caused by Kelvin's digging, he stumbles upon an idea. Fernando nods quickly and jumps into one of the holes, hanging onto the sticky strands with its cane. Diego is slightly confused, but continues with the Leader's plan of blasting a barrage of rocks; unfortunately, the web is quite tight and as such they bounce right off, not going through and hitting the fire monkey.

Taking advantage of Diego's perplexed state, compounded only by its Leader's quite obvious blunder, Fernando successfully extricates itself from the web, aims carefully, and kicks Diego unceremoniously into a nearby hole, causing it to be the one hanging on now.

Before the Armaldo can react, however, Fernando jumps high into the air and comes crashing down, sending it hurtling towards the ground! The Armaldo smashes into the hard floor with a painful cracking sound; its brittle armor seems to have shattered! It'll have to get to a Pokemon center soon... up on the web, Fernando doesn't seem to be too well off either; the impact from landing onto the hard armor seems to have damaged its knees a bit...[/box]

[box]ROUND FIVE

Both trainers switch out their injured Pokemon, giving them a brief respite from the grueling battle; their wounds don't appear as if they'll simply heal via staying in their capsules, though...

The Leader's chosen replacement, Scadi the Syclant, initiates the round and launches a tirade of insults and rather offensive gestures at Reginald the Krilowatt, who zooms in and zaps the Syclant with a quick shock of electricity. Unphazed, Scadi chases Reginald around the web before chomping down viciously and tearing away its berry. Managing to escape for a little while, Reginald calls upon a thunderbolt that strikes true and electrifies Scadi; he also seems to imbue a little surprise in the attack, causing the Syclant to suddenly seize up as its muscles spasm uncontrollably!

Reginald takes some time to recover from the attack, but Scadi is relentless, shaking the web violently. Just as Scadi is about to pounce, the Krilowatt suddenly disappears in a flash of red light and Fernando appears again, armed with his cane. [box]ROUND SIX

Fernando hurls a wide arc of flame at Scadi, dealing tremendous damage to its icy exterior; that's not all, though, as the attack seems to have burned the burn-resistant berry as well. Scadi winces a bit, but continues with the plan and sends another earthquake rumbling through the spider web, knocking the dexterous Simisear off balance.

Not relenting, Fernando keeps up the fiery assault, launching a small barrage of fireballs that explode upon contact. This leaves him open for a surprise flavor attack, however; Scadi charges at the monkey as fast as it possibly can in its crippled state and elbows it at a downwards angle, knocking it into one of the holes in the web and down below! Fernando crashes in a rather painful-looking position, and after a couple seconds of struggling, gives up and falls unconscious.

With only one Pokemon left, our challenger seems to be in a bad position; however, Scadi is recharging and sluggish, so that might just be enough to give him another chance![/box]

[box]ROUND SEVEN

While Scadi recovers from his massive exertion last round, Reginald comes in with a vengeance and fires off several powerful attacks, knocking the poor Syclant out before it even gets a chance to retaliate! The Leader seems to be in a tough spot now, down in health and against a pretty strong enemy...[/box]

"It's a shame you had to play dirty and send your fans away. They would love to see such a close match!"

Reginald, its one to one, and the odds are about even. We have to be skillful if we want a badge. Give it your all!

Substitute (25HP)~Scald~Chill
-If if is your turn a2/a3 and you don't have a substitute up, use substitute (20HP)
-if opponent uses substitute , use Imprison [Substitute/Protect/Double Team] that action and push the cue down
-if earthquake and opponent does not have a sub up, counter that action, and push the queue down (but only ONCE)
