And the match begins!

Mercutio proceeds to draw upon a mystical power, and a wondrous wall of light erupts between the two teams, shining brilliantly. It's a Light Screen! Natsumi then tries to use her skills at Hypnosis to put Faye, her foe, to sleep, but she fails to make proper eye contact! Even worse, Midori tries to scatter green powders, hoping to induce sleep(a Sleep Powder if you may call it that), but Mercutio wriggles out of the way! Finally, Faye fires an odd coloured beam of light from his mouth, which connects with Midori, a beam of various signals, which finds Midori's weak point - it's a critical hit!

Mercutio decides to go on the offense, with a harsh sound of a Bug Buzz after running towards Midori. Natsumi once more fails to make proper eye contact with Faye, and hence her second attempt at Hypnosis fails. Midori however, is more successful, and her Sleep Powder's spores manage to find Mercutio and put him into a short nap. Faye proceeds to draw upon an inner Hidden Power of his, and fires the orbs of energy he generates at Midori.

Mercutio peacefully sleeps, while the battle rages around him. Natsumi conjures a set of Magical Leaves, and locks on to her target. They then home in on Faye, bruising him a fair bit. Midori then proceeds to draw health from Faye with a Mega Drain, while poor Faye can only attempt to send another multicoloured Signal Beam at Midori.

And we continue this wonderful match!

Mercutio starts things off with a quick glance around, seemingly predicting trouble. Natsumi takes this chance to stop in one place, and calm her mind down, boosting her psychic prowess. Midori now makes an attempt to put Mercutio to sleep with Sleep Powder, the spores scattering towards Mercutio, but Mercutio evasively escapes with an agile movement! In the meanwhile, Faye creates energy orbs from his Hidden Power and targets Midori, who is starting to look bruised.

Mercutio then begins to flop around, the perfect image of a struggling bug. Somehow, Midori and Natsumi are hurt by this, and their Special Attacks drop a stage each! Natsumi conjures Magical Leaves once more, and targets Faye, while Midori creates an Energy Ball, which absorbed the ambient natural energy in the surroundings, and then proceeds to fire it at Faye! Faye, quite injured, decides to fire his multicoloured Signal Beam at the latest aggressor.

Mercutio then makes a pre-emptive strike, predicting Midori's next move! He conjures a few orbs of Hidden Power, and fires it off quickly at Midori. Natsumi tries to hypnotize the bug, and succeeds! Mercutio begins to nap happily, while Midori uses the move Mercutio had predicted her to use, Hidden Power. Faye quietly fires another Signal Beam, and the Pokemon wait for new orders.

And we continue the battle!

Faye makes a quick move towards Midori, a Feint that catches her off-guard, and she falls! Mercutio makes an odd buglike buzzing noise that makes his foe cringe in pain. In response, Natsumi brings out her Magical Leaves once more, and again they home in on poor Faye, who takes another beating.

Now an odd aura surrounds Natsumi, and both Mercutio and she maintain eye ontact for the briefest of moments. Mercutio then cringes, as part of his memory has been blocked - to be precise he has been Disabled from using Struggle Bug! While Fay chomps down hard on Natsumi with a Crunch, Mercutio unleashes a mighty combo, a mighty Payback X that does severe damage to Natsumi, but also seems to have sapped out a lot of his energy...

While Mercutio cools down his overworked body from the previous attack, Natsumi takes the chance to Hypnotise him to lull him into a deep sleep. Faye quietly runs up to her and once again Crunches down.
