Dogfish and Glacier Knight duke it out in...a Frozen Throne Room!

Welcome to Mayhem! I'm your host, MrL, as I attempt to get back into Reffing by taking an insanely difficult 1v1 =P We are here in the Palace of the Weavile King, an arena that almost looks like it was made with the sole intention of helping Glacier's Weavile (But nah, that's not true in the slightest...). This will be a 1v1 versis Dogfish44 and Glacier Knight!

Information on this arena is as follows:

Field Type- Dark/Ice
Complexity- Intense
Format- Singles/Doubles
Restrictions- No Light, No weather, No seismic activity, Low ceiling

Palace of the Weavile King:
You have been summoned deep within Weavile Country, trekked through dense woods and blizzards galore, all to find your way to Weavile Palace. The entrance makes it look like just another cave, but inside lies a dizzying labyrinth, carved by the Weavile's slave labor. After navigating through the tunnels you enter a large chamber, a throne room of some sorts. But the Weavile do royalty a little differently. The king's prized room is a private arena, and you have been summoned to entertain him!

The battling area is squareish, 200 feet by 200 feet, with a 100 foot by 100 foot circle in the center. The whole area is pitch black, so beware! around the circle is a ten foot long pit all around, 30 feet deep. the circle is about 2 feet lower than the rest of the arena. Whats so special about the circle platform in the center? its ice! Pure ice, carved by the most elite sneasal. Before every battle, using primitive but effective technology, the weavile clean this ice, making sure it is always very slick. the rest of the arena is stone and rock, though some parts are covered in thick ice.

The weavile king sits on the most intricate and mysterious "throne" the world has ever seen. Basically it is a large cave formation, borne eons ago and grown to epic proportions. it is located in the center of the northern most point of the arena, 60 feet tall. about 100 feet long, it stretches across the whole northern center border of the arena. It has twists, spears, pillars, and more, creating a dazzling display of rock. What makes it unique is that there are two large 20 by 20 feet holes that open near the base of the cave formation. Carved by a gripping wind, they spew frosty gales that hit the whole arena, affecting battlers. Ice pokemon are not hurt at all, but everyone else can and will be damaged!

And if that weren't enough, you must be warned. Do not anger the Weavile King! How do you do that? Send a fighting pokemon to battle! That is an insult to all weavile/sneasal kind; the king will think you are attempting assasination! He will roar in a mighty blaze, and will summon his minions to attack all battlers on the field!

about this arena (important stuff if you were too lazy to read the description)

1. The center of the arena is made of ice, and is very slick. Ice pokemon can navigate on it easily and gain 20 speed. Other pokemon must be careful, becuase they could slip and miss there attack! (All non ice pokemon attacking on the ice lose 20% accuracy). Also levitating/flying pokemon are not affected by the ice

2. The ice in the center of the arena cannot be melted or dug into

3. the cave formation throne will release chilling winds and frost. Every action there is a 40% chance that winds will be emitted from the holes, and release either an icy wind (10%), powder snow (80%) or blizzard (10%). refs will calc the attack with stab, and rank 3 special attack

4. If a fighting type pokemon is in battle, there is a 30% chance at the end of each round the Weavile King will summon sneasals to attack all battlers. the sneasals can do the following attacks (ref rng to see which battler gets hit with which move): Screech (40%), Ice Punch (20%), Ice Shard (20%), or Faint attack (20%). when refs calc, the sneasals have rank 4 attack and stab on ice punch, ice shard, and faint attack.

5. The Palace room is pitch black, due to the Weavile King's preference (he can see just fine). All non dark pokemon or pokemon without night vision (or even nocturnal pokemon) lose 30% flat accuracy.

6. weather cannot be induced here. not even hail. the stone and rock cannot be dug in either, unless the pokemon is pure ground.

7. both pokemon start on the icy circle in the center.

Wow, that's a mouthful...and completely one-sided. Will Dogfish's superVire make it through without trouble? Will "The King" protect his throne?

...Why speculate and just watch the danged battle...

Electivire [Short Fuse] (M)
Type: Electric - Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.
Nature: Mild (+SpAtk -Def)

Abilities:
Ability 1: Motor Drive (Innate) - This Pokemon nullifies any electrical attack damage and converts the energy from any electrical attack (inc. Thunder Wave) into an energy source that allows it to boost its speed by one (1) level. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts..
Ability 2: Vital Spirit (DW) (Innate) - This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.

Weavile [Gavin, "The King"] (Male)
Nature: Jolly (+speed and accuracy, -spa)

Info on Gavin:

Type:
Dark: Dark STAB; Immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.
Ice: Ice STAB; immune to freezing and Sheer Cold, no vision loss or damage in Hail or snowstorm conditions, perfectly accurate and 30% Protect breaking Blizzard in Hail. Superior senses and mobility in frozen caves and other frigid arenas.

Abilities:

Inner Focus: (Innate) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.
Keen Eye: (Innate)This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its attacks are still affected by an opponent’s evasion and the Pokemon's own accuracy.
Pickpocket (DW UNLOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon's mischievous nature and greed make it very effective at pawning off an opponents item. If this Pokemon has no item and either it or the opposing Pokemon strikes with a contact attack, their item is stolen and becomes the held item of this Pokemon. Pokemon with Pickpocket can be commanded to swap items with an ally, and only they will need to expend an action to do so because of their swifter sleight of hand.

Now then, this arena looks problematic. Begin with a Magnet Rise, before you follow through with a Brick Break then a Karate Chop. HOWEVER, if Taunt is used A1, use Teleport (Dodge), landing on the edge and off the ice.

The match finally begins now that the rather dashing ref has finished more important stuff *huff*...

Anyways, the battle takes off right at the start. It seems like "The King" is eyeing his opponent with much anticipation! Electivire starts to gather his wits and starts rubbing his fists together, working a Magnet Rise to prevent the floor from being a hinderanc-wait, Gavin's dashing towards Electivire! What's this, it seems Gavin was preparing a Snatch attack, and steals Electivire's Magnet Rise! That's not the worst part BRRRR, it seems the throne's gave way to let lose a ferocious Powder Snow. Both pokemon are hit, but neither seem to be too phased by the attack.

Gavin leads of the round by...doing things I didn't think a King would resort to...but his rather trashy Taunt worked, and Electivire is now in a furious rage! In fact, his RAGE is so large, Electivire pulls the focus and energy needed into using Brick Break! Gavin took a big hit, but before either Pokemon could gather their bearings, the throne lets loose with another ferocious Powder Snow, this one more deadly than the last! The King himself took a Critical Hit, while Electivire seems to be caught in a Light Freeze. This is not looking good for Electivire...

Gavin takes the opportunity to pull out a stealthy Night Slash! The cunning strike failed to land a critical hit, but Gavin seems pleased with the result all the same. Electivire stares in awe at the attack, not even flinc-owait, Electivire's frozen on the spot, unable to retaliate to the attack. The throne looks like it's out of juice, so is down this round for sneasels to refill with ice.

The match would appear to be within Electivire's court right now, but with all the odds stacked against him, will he be able to prevail against The King on his own domain?

...How many times do i have to tell you to stop speculating and watch the damn match. Sheesh.

The match is getting heated with intensity....which is good, because we'd freeze to death otherwise. The match has taken a quick turn from the expected.

Using epic focus, Electivire thawed out his frozen veins enough to gather focus; Gavin, on the other hand, decides to practice his vocal talents...much to the dismay of Electivire. The horrible Screech that was emitted from The King's horrible throat left Electivire with his Defences Harshly Lowered. Electivire's going to prepare for a beating...but only after he unleashes a devastating Focus Punch! That brutal attack has left Gavin on his last limbs...is this the end of the road for the king?

Gavin refuses to give in easily, however: The King unleashes a powerful Crush Claw, and through either sheer desperation or sheer luck, struck Electivire in a Critical manner. Electivire responds by attacking with a field-shattering Brick Break in the dark....and is satisfied by a resulting thump next to him; the sound of The King Being KO'd.

THANK YOU. i am (for once) quite glad i lost, because this proves that even though the arena seems daunting and quite one sided, it IS possible to win in the arena if you aren't a weavile. and fairly easily, seeing as it took only 2 rounds.

thank you come again. >:
