Regirock (Sunny Day Support)

Call me Regirock crazy! :D It's a good mon. Anyways; suprise, Regirock is actually a great Sunny Day supporter. Don't believe me? Look at the calcs:

Stealth Rock further bolsters Regirock's supporting prowess, and it can help Regirock's teammates score some needed KOs or punish the opponent for switching. Stone Edge prevents Regirock from becoming total Taunt bait, while it hits quite hard off Regirock's base 100 Attack stat. The last move comes down to your own preference. Fire Punch is a great move for Regirock, allowing it to hit opposing Grass-types for a surprise, as well as take advantage of the power boost provided by the sun. For example, Regirock can 2HKO Exeggutor with Fire Punch in the sun, while Choice Specs Exeggutor might fail to 2HKO Regirock with Psychic, and fails to OHKO it with -2 Leaf Storm. Explosion, however, can be used to safely bring in a teammate by blowing Regirock up. Be careful when using Explosion though; take the situation at hand into consideration and only explode Regirock when it isn't needed anymore.</p>

<p>The sun also aids Regirock; not only does it boost the power of Fire Punch, but the sun also allows Regirock to tank powerful Water-type moves. +2 Gorebyss fails to OHKO Regirock in the sun, and after some combination of prior damage, Defense drops, and entry hazards, Regirock can possibly OHKO Gorebyss back. Gorebyss has a hard time defeating this Regirock, and will more often than not lose, especially if Spikes and Stealth Rock are on the field. There are a few other options that can go in the last slot. Thunder Wave and Toxic can be used to add to the support Regirock provides. Thunder Wave cripples faster opponents and Choice Scarf users, while Toxic wears down bulky opponents that won't go down in one hit. As for alternative offensive options, Earthquake and Drain Punch can be useful. Earthquake hits certain Steel-types, such as Probopass and Lairon, harder than Fire Punch does, while Drain Punch can be used to heal any damage Regirock might have suffered. In particular, Drain Punch works well against frail, Fighting-weak Pokemon, such as Absol.</p>

<p>Chlorophyll users are obviously the most important teammates to this set. The Chlorophyll users that fare best in the tier are Exeggutor, Victreebel, and Shiftry, and all three have attributes that Regirock benefits from. Exeggutor and Victreebel both resist Fighting-type moves that Regirock is weak to. Exeggutor receives a special mention, as it has both better bulk and super effective STAB Psychic-type moves to get rid of those pesky Fighting-types. Shiftry, on the other hand, can hit Ghost-types hard, which can be useful to some extent if Regirock carries Explosion; Ghost-types block Explosion, meaning Regirock will be sacrificed without benefit. Unlike other sun supporters, most of whom are partially Grass-typed, Regirock can also take care of Flying- and Fire-types that threaten these Grass-types with ease, as it resists their STAB moves. Hard-hitting Fire-types, such as Magmortar and Emboar (and to some extent Rapidash and Simisear), can take advantage of the power boost their STAB moves get from the sun, while also being able to take care of Metang for Regirock if it lacks Fire Punch or Earthquake; Metang resists both Stone Edge and Explosion.</p>

With Leaf Guard, Leafeon is immune to status and can switch into status moves for free in the sun, allowing it to easily support the team. Leafeon has access to Heal Bell, Toxic, and Roar as well, while being able to handle various Water- and Ground-types, notably Quagsire, with Leaf Blade. As Steel-types, more specifically Bastiodon, Probopass, and Lairon, will give Regirock trouble if it lacks Earthquake or Drain Punch, Fighting-types such as Sawk are helpful to dispose of them. Water-types are a big no, however, as their STAB moves are weakened by the sun.</p>

on a serious note this looks really good for a sun supporting team. Most Gorebyss don't run LO so the effectiveness of tanking surfs isn't really all that great.

I just went with the fact that LO is the main slash on the set. However, there are various possible situations were it might come in handy.

Stone Edge does 40.87 - 48.8% on Gorebyss with no stat modifications.
We could assume Gorebyss is switching in on Stone Edge, which equals a KOed Gorebyss with either SR up or if it sets up the next turn. An unboosted Surf does even less damage so it's done for either way. Stone Edge also has a high critical-hit ratio.

It's all dependant on the situation at hand. There were something else I was thinking about too but can't remember it.

Oh yeah, the calc in the OP is without LO (forgot that). But it doesn't matter though. Still not OHKOed.
