Maelstorm Battling, 3v3 Dogfish44 vs Rewindman! (SS Refs)

Status
Not open for further replies.
Sometimes, a person's better judgement escapes them.
Sometimes, what is smart is not always what is done.
Sometimes, when a simple pokemon battle isn't enough, you take a boat out into the middle of the storm and have your battle there.
May the God's help us.

The Ground-Rules:
Looking for a 3 v 3 Singles match!
DQ: 1 Week
Restrictions: Unlimited Chills/Recovers, Banning Bide and Non-Damaging sleep moves
Arena: Storm at Sea. A wooden boat in a rough storm at sea, the weather is treated as being Rain Dance, no matter what the circumstances. THe wooden boat shouls support 2 medium sized pokémon, but is quite weak and the sail has fallen to pieces. The boat may be fragile, but the water prevents it from catching fire TOO easily. Still, it could be a bit dangerous if a large amount of Fire/Electricity hits it, and it won't appreciate an earthquake, and digging will make you look rather silly. And wet.

Alright then, let's get this going. Onward! To Glorious Victory!

Sorry this took so long; Been typing, forgetting, back and forth. With hindsight, 7 Day DQ made me lazy. Also, I decided to make the Boats Grass/Water types with a damage threshold of 100 (It will take 1/3 of damage dealt to the rider, unless targetted) and the Para/Burn Chance of catching fire. Right, let's get interesting!

So, I was sitting in port, minding my own business. It was salty, to say the least. Anyways, sitting there and drinking my drink (maybe I had a few too many...) and these 2 guys come up and start talking to me. I didn't really hear what they said, but I do remember them saying there would RC. And how was I to say no? Seemed pretty stock-standard.

Now I'm on a ship with broken sails, I have a throbbing headache, and it's Raining, of all things. So, with this all in mind, I take my place between the 2 battlers, calling above the wind and rain;
"PLEASE DON'T BREAK THE SHIP!"
In a bright flash of light, my little Slowpoke Sleuth pops out behind me. It grunts happily, flopping on the wooden deck. I sigh, rubbing the back of my neck and preparing to ref.

Round 1 Start!
Both trainers release their pokemon; a little Mareep named Nimbus... Wait, it's a Monohm. Damn this headache...Anyway, judging by the shape and noises, I think that's a Porygon-Z, and I think it's called Mac. Right, I'm just going to sit down for a moment... Ya'll keep battling...

Porygon-Z leads the match, blasting Nimbus with a powerful Ice Beam, which knocks him back, breaking some of the boards on the ship. Shaking off some of the ice crystals from its wool, stands up to Taunt the Virtual pokemon (probably a some clever remark about it's motherboard), throwing it into a blind rage!

It continues the assault, drawing on the power of 3 different elements and combining them into a Tri Attack! Nimbus manages to land on its feet, calling down a Giant Thunderbolt from the sky that hits Mac most directly! A few sparks fly off of him, striking the boat and setting the Ship on fire!

Porygon-Z retaliates, blasting the Cotton ball with another stock-standard Ice Beam! Nimbus takes in a Mouthful of Water, completely dowsing both Mac and the flames around the Deck. Wow, that's a relief. If they had of kept up for much longer...

This has been Round 1! This is SimonSays, and the throbbing is fading, no worries.
Sleuth: "Slowpoke!" ("Wait, when did we get on a boat?")

Monohm, this roughly defines "Not Good"

Let's go with Hydro Pump ~ DragonBreath ~ Hydro Pump.

IF it uses Ice Beam, THEN Cloak yourself in a Fire Blast (Not actually attacking so it should be done quite quickly, before the Ice hits.).

Ice beam then tri attack then finish it with a psybeam if its still standing. Since it is raining, I doubt that fireblast shield would be that effective, so you should be able to get some good damage in and make him waste an action.

ice beam - tri attack - psybeam

I don't have anything to say here, really. So I'm just typing to fill the time in which it will take me to ref this round. It also gives me a little bit of space to get more of the creative juices flowing. In other news, I am a terrible procrastinator. Battle On!

Round 2 Start!
Well, the headache's subseeded some since the last Round, but it's still raining... I'm SimonSays, and I don't think the ship canna take much more.

Mac readies another Ice Beam, going for the tried-and-true "SPAM SE Moves" Stategy. But before the attack can land, Nimbus engulfs itself in its own Fire Blast! This severely weakens the power of the Icy Beam, but it also sets the Deck on fire beneath it beneath it! I do hope someone wises up and puts that out...

Mac blasts the little Cotton-Dragon with one Final Tri-Attack, knocking it clean across the ship and into the mast, breaking the mast in 2! Luckily no one was hurt... Except for the little Nimbus, who has been Knocked Out cold! Ouch!

This Round has been brought to you by the letter S. I'm SimonSays, and please start aiming more carefully. =[

Speed reffing? SPEED REFFING! ON SPEED!

Okay, so after some shuffling, we have a Match-up.

Both Combatants boost their speeds with Agility, now moving 15x faster than Sleuth, who doesn't give a damn. I remain nervous, the flames rising up and burning what's left of the sails.

Ryuu launches a quick Ice Beam at Boltair, which despite the flames, freezes him solid! Boltair doesn't have a choice but to sit there, as the flames rise up and completely consume the ship! I quickly jump on my Dragonair, who flies up above the sinking ship. Sleuth happily floats along on a plank left behind.

Ryuu, now with clear access at the wide ocean, quickly Dives Under the waves! Boltair's Thunderbolts don't have enough Voltage against the ultimate resistor of water! (Electrical Physics 101). From out of the water, Ryuu leap up, tackling the little flying squirrel into some Driftwood!

This is Simon, and I do hope that that ship wasn't a rental.

Round 4 Start!
We're still in a storm, except somebody was a little over-zealous with their battling and the ship is now nothing but Driftwood. Lucky for me, I can watch this whole battle from on top of my beloved Dragonair, but still...

Ryuu strikes first, as is the recurring theme: concentrating a freezing Ice Beam and hitting Boltair squarely in the face. He wheels, but he still has the strength to create a Light Screen, shielding it from the full strength of oncoming Special attacks.

I must say, this Seadra is getting repetitive; it Dives under the churning waves, safe from any harm, while Boltair sits there, charging a powerful Thunderbolt. By the time that Ryuu rears its head to attack, he's met (rather passionately) with a Super-Thunderbolt!

Ace shudders, as a wave starts to build itself up, larger than the others. As suddenly as it appeared, it comes crashing down on the battle, washing trainers and pokemon alike away! Wow, this is embarassing... I don't think anyone's ever lost their battlers...

~2 hours searching later, and we find ourselves on a small rock formation; there's plenty of Boulders, about 5 feet wide and 8 feet apart from each other, with water running between them. Parts of the ship have also been carried here, and may be used in battle for whatever purpose~

Ohh, dear... It would seem that Tidal wave knocked out the little Flying Squirrel Pokemon. It's been a cruel day. This is SimonSays, and I can't remember which way it is to the mainland.

Round 6 Start!
Buzz the Electrivire quickly bursts out of it's pokeball, not waiting a moment to assault Quartz with Crossed arms, Chopping down on the little Geodude.

Quartz feels the futility of the whole battle, and goes for the fastest option; Blowing itself up. Selfdestruction is not the answer, kids. There is always a way around any situation.

This has been a tiring match. Bless your face. If you sneezed at any stage while reading this battle, bless you. This is SimonSays, and I am the most inconsistent ref in the world.
