    Pokémon Dusknoir

While I don't Believe Dusknoir will be OU anytime soon, I would like to request that you add Leech Life to the original post Sultan . Leech Life gives it some non passive recovery, while also notably hitting Dark for supereffective and freeing up the need to run a Fighting type attack like Brick...

Tera Dark is already a good tera type for Clod so thats not unheard of. But Psychic Noise could actually see massive stonk increases for many bulky Dark types. Suddenly Mons like Wo-Chien, Umbreon, and Grimmsnarl come to mind.

SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

To add on to the theory of a truly neutral typing in this new "Aurora Type", I had another idea. It could possibly have an Omni super effective resistance component...to Tera. In Gen 8, Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eterantus all had signature attacks that were effective against Dynamax, at the cost of...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

While this is def not the place to post theories about stuff, I feel I should mention something that might seem interesting about this "Aurora Type". As per the official website, any pokemon can become the type and Tera Blast as of right now is the only known move to become said type. We also...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

I don't know how you can say this is mental gymnastics when I quite literally say Tera broke Regieleki. My point was that while tera broke regieleki, it managed to stay an OU relevant mon with an Ubers niche despite crippling flaws in gen 8. It wasn't going to take much to push eleki over the...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

Lets be clear on Regielki. It was an OU mon with an Ubers niche despite being shit on by ground types. The mon closest to how eleki operates with a more expansive move pool was Electrode (didn't exist in gen 8) and that mon has been PU for generations. Eleki was balanced by the fact that it had...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

The problem with this argument is that your trying to compare Dynamax to Tera based soley off the fact that both can use items. The problem is the power difference between the two is night and day. Dynamax would still be broken if the user couldn't use items because: 1) The user doubles it's...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

There not comparable because Tera Blast is worse in every aspect other than base power. Yes, a handful of mons can run Tera Blast and function as sweepers, allowing for a more reliable STAB option than other alternatives, Tera Ghost Dragapult is an excellent example. But lets not forget that...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

Agreed, because arguably Tera Blast is functionally a worse Hidden Power. As you pointed out, it has higher BP. But it comes at the cost of wasting a precious move slot on an Base 80 special move that your mon may never use given that it might not Tera. There has been exactly 1 mon banned...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

I would say there are not broken or oppressive, however UU has been a slightly hectic since a bunch of former OU mons dropped down, however it feels like its starting to stabilize. As I highlighted in my previous post on this thread, there are far few outliers. Oricorio Pom-Pom is one such...

Metagame Terastallization Tiering Discussion, Part II [CLOSED FOR DLC]

I believe I'm the one that made the point about how much more manageable tera is in lower tiers and how a ban in OU would cause a ripple effect into lower tiers, so I would like to add to this. I personally say no ban, but if restrictions must be made, then tera preview should suffice. I won't...

The biggest reason I support Valiant but hate on Volc is what the moth can do outside of tera on top of it's offensive sets. Valiant can be either physical or special and can run mixed sets, but it's frail, has difficulty setting up, and if it's forced out after the use of Booster energy then...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

You know, after reading a few posts about how people hate Kingambit and evolite Bisharp being a thing, I realized something that could either be a meme or greatness. As someone else stated, Bisharp prior to its evo was already OU/UU material depending on the gen. But ironic enough, Gambit's...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

Of the 17 mons with access to Regenerator, 10 are currently in the this gen and arguable the strongest of the bunch, bar Reuniclus. We even got Cyclizar and Klawf (yes Klawf has Regenerator). And yet Stall is on the decline. While the nerf to recovery moves certainly didn't help AND the lack of...

85 Fully evolved/non evolving pokemon learn scald. 86 if you count Galar Corsula since that is a meta relevant pokemon in the past. Assuming all fully evolved gen 9 mons that are water type get scald in the future DLC, that's an additional 11 mons, 12 if you count the 2 different Basculegions...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

I would also like to add to this. While there are moves that work similar to Scald (Discharge, Lava Plume, etc.), these moves A) Lack major distribution to Scald's extent and B) have switch in's immune to said status. And while everyone hates on Dire Claw (understandably) and most likely Toxic...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

Those half a dozen other mons don't have Quiver dance and near perfect coverage. The thing with Volc was that not only was it good, but because it's base was already good it didn't care if it ran Tera Blast and never tera'd. King gambit and Tusk absolutely cannot do the same thing. (note that...

Metagame SV OU Metagame Discussion v2 [Update on Post #5186]

In the case of SwSH, none of the legendary pokemons moves that weren't Z-Moves were removed. They were confirmed to still be accessible via Metronome. There has never been a case in the history of the franchise where a move removed from a mons general moveset (that wasn't a TM/TR/MT) was added...
